Lake City Campground Introduce
For local users in Florida and the surrounding areas searching for "camping near me" in the vicinity of Lake City, Lake City Campground, located at 4743 N US-441, Lake City, FL 32055, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While the campground boasts a friendly staff and a pleasant environment with certain appealing features, potential visitors should also be aware of some reported drawbacks concerning amenities and cleanliness. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the environment, services, and features based on the available feedback to help local users make an informed decision.
The environment of Lake City Campground appears to offer a blend of natural and developed spaces. One reviewer highlights a "nice pond" where guests can relax and watch a fountain in the middle, suggesting a tranquil water feature that adds to the aesthetic appeal of the campground. This pond, while not for swimming, provides a peaceful spot for quiet contemplation. Additionally, the reviewer mentions that "the road around the campground is excellent for a walk," indicating paved or well-maintained pathways suitable for leisurely strolls and enjoying the surroundings. The presence of a pool, which one reviewer noted was cleaned during their short stay, suggests an amenity for recreation and cooling off, particularly appealing in the Florida climate. However, another reviewer mentions "sketchy looking campers in the long term parking area" with some having tarps on their vehicles, which could potentially impact the overall aesthetic and perceived safety of certain areas within the campground. Local users prioritizing a visually appealing and uniformly well-maintained environment in their "camping near me" search should consider this contrasting feedback.
In terms of services and features, Lake City Campground offers a pool, a pond with a fountain, and walkable roads within the campground. The friendly and polite nature of the entire staff, including maintenance, is consistently praised in one review, indicating a positive aspect of the customer service experience. However, other reviews point out some significant limitations. One reviewer reported that "Wifi wouldn't connect in the back of the park," which is a crucial consideration for many travelers who rely on internet access. Another mentioned that cable TV was "free because it's hard to watch a snowy picture," suggesting unreliable or non-functional cable service. These issues with connectivity could be a significant drawback for local users who expect these amenities as part of their "camping near me" experience. Furthermore, the same reviewer noted "sketchy looking campers in the long term parking area," implying a potentially less desirable section of the campground.
Cleanliness of the facilities appears to be another area of concern. One reviewer stated that the "Bathroom not as clean as they say" and noted that it "Needs some paint especially the Doors," suggesting that the upkeep of the restroom facilities might be lacking. This contrasts with the positive mention of the pool being cleaned, indicating potential inconsistencies in the maintenance of different areas within the campground. For local users who prioritize clean and well-maintained restrooms in their "camping near me" choice, this feedback warrants careful consideration.
The reviews do not provide specific details about the types of campsites available (e.g., tent, RV), the presence of hookups (water, electric, sewer), or other common campground amenities such as fire pits, picnic tables, or laundry facilities. Local users with specific accommodation needs should inquire directly with the campground about these features. Similarly, information regarding pet policies, quiet hours, or any specific rules and regulations is not available in the provided feedback.
No specific promotional information is mentioned in the reviews. Local users interested in Lake City Campground as a "camping near me" option would need to contact them directly at (386) 752-9131 or +1 386-752-9131 to inquire about pricing, availability, and any current specials or discounts. Information about seasonal rates, long-term stay options, and booking procedures would also be important to obtain.
In conclusion, Lake City Campground near Lake City, Florida, offers a friendly staff, a pool, a relaxing pond with a fountain, and good walking roads within the campground. These aspects could be appealing to local users seeking a peaceful "camping near me" experience with some recreational amenities. However, potential visitors should be aware of reported issues with wifi connectivity in certain areas, unreliable cable TV, and concerns about the cleanliness and upkeep of the bathroom facilities. The presence of "sketchy looking campers" in the long-term parking area might also be a consideration for some. Local users are advised to weigh these positive and negative aspects and to contact the campground directly for more information about specific amenities, site types, and current conditions before making a decision about their "camping near me" getaway.

Lake City Campground Reviews
The entire staff including maintenance is very polite and friendly. The pool has been cleaned since I’ve been here for a short time. It’s a very friendly environment. The road around the campground is excellent for a walk . There’s a nice pond to relax and watch the fountain in the middle. No swimming but great to have a moment of peace
Dec 06, 2024 · Jennifer hinsonShort stay. Wifi wouldn't connect in the back of the park. Cable free because it's hard to watch a snowy picture. Bathroom not as clean as they say. Needs some paint especially the Doors. Sketchy looking campers in the long term parking area. Some have tarps on them.
Nov 15, 2024 · scooter mcgavinWhere to begin. First, they play games with their name as there is a very nice campground down the road called Lake City RV Resort and this campground is Lake City Campground and Resort. Don't be fooled. This campground is NOT a resort. I have to say that we did arrive 4 days after hurricane Helene went through the area. However, what we saw was not caused by the hurricane. I am excluding any hurricane impact from my review. The pictures in the website must be from 10 years ago or more. This campground is run down. The office outside and inside is in desperate need of attention. It needed facia work and new paint like 5 years ago. The office inside looks more like a thrift store. There are 3 trailer homes that should be taken out. Not sure what they are used for but they are an eyesore if you want to call this place a resort. People are pulling in with $300,000 rigs right across the gravel drive from rundown moldy trailer homes. The roads have huge potholes in them. The firepits have not been mowed/weed whipped for over a month if at all over the summer. The pool had no umbrellas for shade. The great reviews must be from family/friends or paid for. I travel about 4 months a year. I have stayed in great campgrounds (federal, state and private) and not so great. Sorry but this one is not so great. It is functional and good for overnight but not deserving of the 4 and 5 stars other reviewers are giving them and certainly should not have "resort" in their name.
Oct 05, 2024 · Scott BjorkWe just got our first camper & wanted to try it out somewhere close to home & randomly choose Lake City Campground, & I'm so glad we did! Everything was organized & so clean! We realized we forgot a few essentials, & Miss Laurie was so helpful, & I couldn't believe how incredibly reasonable the prices were! Cheaper than Amazon! The pool was so clean and refreshing! We never checked out the Rec Room, but we had such a wonderful time with our granddaughter. We will definitely be back. We highly recommend visiting Miss Laurie at Lake City Campground for a laid back & relaxing time! 😊
Jul 08, 2024 · Michele PawlowskiBeen camping at Lake City campgrounds for over 12 years, have always enjoyed our stay there...but.. have noticed that the bathrooms are in great need of updating and a little paint would greatly improve the appearance of the park. Overall it's still the best park in Lake City, just needs a little TLC...
