Lake George Schroon Valley Campground Introduce
For those in search of the perfect "camping near me" experience in the scenic Adirondack region, Lake George Schroon Valley Campground presents itself as a noteworthy option. Situated at 1730 Schroon River Rd, Warrensburg, NY 12885, USA, this campground offers a convenient location for exploring both the renowned Lake George area and the tranquil Schroon Valley. With contact available at (518) 494-2451 or mobile phone +1 518-494-2451, reaching out to gather more specific details or make reservations is readily accessible.
Based on available information, Lake George Schroon Valley Campground is described by some visitors as well-maintained with a notably friendly and accommodating staff. This suggests a welcoming atmosphere where campers can expect assistance and a generally positive interaction with campground personnel. The cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds are also highlighted, contributing to a comfortable and enjoyable camping environment. For those who prioritize a well-tended and organized camping location, this could be a significant advantage.
However, it is important to consider all aspects reported by visitors. Some feedback indicates that campsites can be quite close together, potentially limiting privacy between camping groups. This is a factor that individuals who value seclusion and a more dispersed camping experience should be aware of. Additionally, the ground surface of some sites may consist of dirt or sand rather than grass, which could impact comfort and cleanliness depending on personal preferences and weather conditions.
In terms of features, Lake George Schroon Valley Campground aims to provide a range of amenities for a comfortable stay. While specific details about all available services are not exhaustively listed, it is common for campgrounds to offer essential facilities such as restroom and shower buildings, water hookups, and potentially electric hookups for RV sites. The mention of cable television service suggests that some level of connectivity and entertainment options may be available at certain sites, although one review noted the quality of cable reception as poor. It was also mentioned that internet access may be available for an additional fee, which is a consideration for campers who require online connectivity during their stay.
One of the advertised features that drew some campers to Lake George Schroon Valley Campground was the promise of live music on Saturday nights. However, a visitor reported that this live music was actually located at a "sister" campground situated approximately 5 or 6 miles away. This discrepancy highlights the importance of verifying specific event schedules and locations directly with the campground when making booking decisions, especially if certain amenities or activities are a primary factor in your choice.
The location of Lake George Schroon Valley Campground offers a strategic advantage for exploring the broader region. Its proximity to both Lake George and the Schroon Valley provides access to a diverse range of attractions and activities. The Lake George area is renowned for its stunning lake scenery, opportunities for boating, swimming, and various water sports, as well as numerous tourist attractions, restaurants, and shops. The Schroon Valley, on the other hand, offers a more tranquil and natural setting, with opportunities for hiking, fishing, and exploring the wilderness of the Adirondacks. The campground's location on Schroon River Road suggests potential access to the Schroon River for fishing or scenic enjoyment.
For those searching within the "camping near me" category, Lake George Schroon Valley Campground offers a base from which to explore these distinct yet equally appealing areas of Upstate New York. Families, RV enthusiasts, and tent campers alike may find this campground a suitable option, provided they are aware of the potential for closely spaced sites and the need to verify specific amenities and event locations. The positive feedback regarding the staff and the overall maintenance of the campground suggests a commitment to providing a pleasant experience for visitors.
To make the most informed decision, prospective campers are encouraged to contact Lake George Schroon Valley Campground directly at (518) 494-2451 or +1 518-494-2451. Inquiring about site availability, specific amenities at individual sites (such as grass coverage), internet access details and costs, and the accurate location and schedule of any advertised events like live music is highly recommended. Understanding these details will ensure that your expectations align with the campground's offerings and contribute to a more enjoyable "camping near me" experience in the beautiful Lake George and Schroon Valley region.

Lake George Schroon Valley Campground Reviews
We camped here last weekend (RV). The campground itself is well maintained and the people are all super nice. The sites are VERY close together and there is no privacy. The site we were given didn't have grass - it was this dirty sand that was awful. We booked this campground because it said there was live music on Saturday night, only to find out that is at the "sister" campground 5 or 6 miles away. This was a huge disappointment for sure. Also, you had to pay for internet. Cable was very poor
Jul 02, 2024 · MaryHerityWe come here every summer, and we enjoy it every time! Great sites, very friendly and accommodating staff! We look forward to this trip every year! Very clean and well kept!
Aug 10, 2024 · mk stiThis campground was pretty good. The bathrooms were good, showers were meh. The sites were good size, but main complaint here is actually a big one, don’t use sand at the sites. My RV is a wreck after staying here for not even a full week. No matter how much we wiped our feet and our dogs paws, the sand is EVERYWHERE in our rig. Please do rid the sites of all the sand next season, it will greatly improve the campground! Everything else was excellent, especially the laundry.
Sep 11, 2022 · Liam Theo SpickelmierStayed for a week at the end of July 2022. Very mixed feels on this place.Pro's very nice camp ground that caters to seasonal campers. The Tent area is very nice as well as the RV areas. All of the seasonal people are very nice as well as the employees. Great location to get around to visit the area.Con's: On our 3 night there a large bus pulls up with 40 kids age (14-17) with about 6 Older Kids and 3 Adults. Not one person from the Camp Ground greeted this large group. For the most part the Kids were very quite during Quite time which I had to tell the Leader what the time frame was as it was not posted on the paperwork that they give you when you arrive. The kids kept cutting through our camp site even after we asked them not to. They made the bathrooms very dirty and did not pick up after themselves when they were finished in the restrooms. The store was not opened long enough into the evening to get ice or firewood. Plus they gave us the wrong code to get back into the Camp Ground which made it very frustrating because the Office closed so early. When we complained to the Manager all she had to say was that she kept meaning to meet with the Leader of the group. We did get some of our money back. I have been camping for over 20 years with my kids and I have taught them to respect other peoples camp sites and to pick up after themselves when they are finished using the bathrooms.I also contacted the people that Manage the Camp Ground and they never got back to me.This is a good place for people with RV's not so much for people that Tent camp.
Aug 24, 2022 · Amy McLaughlinThis is the sister site of the Lake George Escape campground a few miles away. I've brought my RV to both campgrounds this summer and had a great experience at both. This Schroon Valley site is the smaller campground and very quiet and peaceful even with all sites booked. It seems like there are more seasonal campers here. I cant say I agree with the past comments about seasonal sites being messy or unsightly...i only saw one older rig with a broken awning, every other site was nicely maintained, many seasonal site owners had put up decks, popups and decorated with flags and landscaping. The sites down below without sewer connections are more spacious - we stayed in #140 which is extra wide with space for the kids to play or for extra parking. The park host was very kind to help us out with this site assignment as we arrived a little after the 8pm check in cut off, and helped accommodate us in 140 after spot 43 proved to be too small to back our 26 ft trailer into. They offer firewood delivery to campsites and mobile pumpouts to the non-sewer sites. There isn't much for activities at this site, but the good news is your stay entitles you to visit the sister site LG Escape to take advantage of the beach, tubing or paddling on the river, playground, restaurant and bar, rentals, movies or music in the park, etc. It's very pleasant to walk around both sites, and the neighbors are all friendly. I had trouble removing my new hose from the water spigot and a neighbor lent me a wrench. The facilities are spartan but clean. I think I'd prefer to stay at the Schroon River site if I wanted a quiet stay, and if i was in the mood to be more social and active, I might choose to stay at the Escape site. I like that there's far less golf carts cruising around the Schroon River site...makes for a quieter stay.
