Adirondack Adventure Resort Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience nestled in the scenic Adirondacks? Consider Schroon River Escape, formerly known as Adirondack Adventure Resort, located at 969 E Schroon River Rd, Diamond Point, NY 12824, USA. Based on customer reviews, this campground offers a blend of natural beauty, friendly service, and recreational opportunities along the Schroon River. While some aspects of the campground are noted as being older and potentially in need of updating, the overall sentiment points towards a pleasant and enjoyable stay, especially for those who appreciate a quieter, river-centric camping experience.
One reviewer recounted a positive experience that began with a free 10-day stay won at an RV show, which required attending a brief presentation about the campground. They highlighted the "very nice staff" who were involved, helpful, and checked in with guests to ensure everyone was having a good time. Special mention was made of Kim, who engaged with children through book time and crafts. This suggests a family-friendly atmosphere with staff who actively try to enhance the guest experience.
This same reviewer noted that while the campground "could use some updating," they found the "clean pool and playground" to be adequate, despite their age. An issue with the internet provider meant there was no cable or Wi-Fi during their stay, but they stated it "wasn't necessary for a good time," indicating that the natural attractions and activities were sufficient entertainment. A major highlight for them was the beach along the river, where they enjoyed tubing, swimming, and their daughter played in the sand. They also mentioned weekend activities, although these were not available during the week of their stay, suggesting that the level of organized entertainment might vary depending on the time of the week.
Another reviewer, identifying as a member, emphasized the "quiet" atmosphere and their love for the river. They praised the staff for doing their best and being "always friendly and helpful." They also noted the name change to Schroon River Escape and mentioned that the new owner is actively working on making improvements to the property.
A concise review simply stated that the campground "has a pool, a river and the beautiful Adirondack woods," and that "Kayaks, canoes and river tubes are available." This reviewer concluded that "This campground is everything it should be," suggesting that it effectively delivers a satisfying camping experience focused on its natural and recreational assets.

Adirondack Adventure Resort Reviews
First off, we got to stay here 10 days for free after a drawing from an RV show. All we had to do was listen to a 45 minute talk about the campgrounds and what they had to offer, they also gave us a $50 gift certificate for a dinner out. Very nice staff, they got involved to make sure everyone was having a good time, helped out when needed, and checked in. Kim was very nice and my daughter enjoyed doing book time and a craft with her. The campground could use some updating though. There was a clean pool and playground that were older. There was no cable or wifi because of an issue with the provider but wasn't necessary for a good time. We really liked the beach along the river. We bought a tube and paddle and were able to tube along the river, we swam, and my daughter played in the sand. They had activities on the weekend but not during the week. I would visit again.
Jul 27, 2014 · J HemI am a member. I love the quiet. I love the river. The staff do their best and are always friendly and helpful. It's been renamed to Schroon River Escape and the new owner is doing her best to make improvements as she can.It has a pool, a river and the beautiful Adirondack woods. Kayaks, canoes and river tubes are available. If you want more, go somewhere else! This campground is everything it should be.
Jun 02, 2018 · Dan HartsteinThe cabin was nice, campground didn't have much going on. Old playground with lots of flies, didn't go to the pool but didn't look great from afar. Stayed there with the free voucher we got from listening to the membership sales pitch. Probably won't go back.
Sep 14, 2015 · Molly ZembkoNice place but voltage gets low sometimes. Got down to 99V one time. Twice we had to run generator. Otherwise it's very nice. Shady. Friendly helpful staff. Great location for Adirondack park and lake George. We'll go again but in cooler months like April or October.
Aug 28, 2018 · Eric LaJueneWe went there to take a 90 minute tour, oh yea, if you just showed up you would get a "free" tablet. So we listened to them try to sell us their "timeshare" camping for $6000 dollars and $349 per year maintenance fees. After about 3 hours they lowered their price to $2500 and told us all the "free" camping we would get. Well unfortunately I fell for it. There is no such thing as free camping because you can never get in to those places. We made so many attempts in 2013 with only one campground accepting our reservation. There are certain yearly fees that we were never told about and you really don't get anything for it. Do yourself a favor , Do not fall for their scam, they have quite a racket going. Save your money and spend it at other campgrounds. I learned the hard way.
