Lake George Riverview Campground Introduce
For those searching for "camping near me" in the Lake George, NY, area, Lake George Riverview Campground, located at 3652 US-9, Lake George, NY 12845, USA, presents a riverside camping option. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at this campground appear to be varied, with some guests reporting positive stays while others have expressed significant concerns.
One recent review paints a negative picture of the campground, citing "unprofessional staff with little to no experience" who allegedly lack customer service orientation and change rules inconsistently. This reviewer also mentioned a lack of grounds security due to an always-open gate, frequent cancellation of listed activities with apparent disregard for affected children, rude staff, a small, outdated, and freezing pool, and lacking grounds maintenance. Furthermore, they described the campsites as "cramped" and resembling a "parking lot" with "little to no shade." This negative feedback strongly advises against staying at Lake George Riverview Campground based on these reported issues.
In contrast, another reviewer shared a much more positive experience, referring to it as an "Amazing Family Campground!" This guest highlighted that the campground is "always clean" and the staff is "so friendly!" They recounted childhood memories of visiting with their parents and were pleased to find the campground had undergone remodeling. This positive review emphasizes the potential for creating family memories and appreciates the cleanliness and friendly staff.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints, it's important for local users looking for "camping near me" to weigh these experiences. The positive review suggests that some visitors find the campground clean and enjoy the friendly staff, possibly those who have a long-standing connection to the location and appreciate any improvements made. The negative review, however, raises serious concerns about the professionalism of the staff, the management's adherence to policies, the security, the facilities (pool), the organization of activities, the condition of the grounds, and the quality of the campsites themselves (size, shade).
The address indicates that Lake George Riverview Campground is located near Lake George, suggesting potential access to the attractions and natural beauty of the area. However, the immediate environment of the campground itself seems to be a point of contention based on the reviews, with one describing it as cramped and lacking shade, while the other focuses on cleanliness.
Regarding services and features, the reviews mention a swimming pool (though one found it small, outdated, and freezing), and listed activities (which one reviewer claimed were often canceled). One positive aspect mentioned was the cleanliness of the campground. The negative review also pointed out a "mildly convenient location," implying some benefit to its proximity to the Lake George area, despite the overall negative assessment.
No specific promotional information was provided in the reviews. Therefore, local users interested in potentially staying at Lake George Riverview Campground might want to contact them directly at (518) 623-9444 or +1 518-623-9444 to inquire about current rates, availability, and any ongoing promotions. It would also be prudent to ask about the concerns raised in the negative review, such as the pool conditions, security measures, and the consistency of activities.
In conclusion, Lake George Riverview Campground presents a mixed picture based on the limited review information available. While one reviewer found it to be an amazing and clean family campground with friendly staff and appreciated the remodeling, another strongly recommended against it due to unprofessional staff, poor customer service, inconsistent rules, security concerns, issues with the pool and activities, and subpar campsite conditions. For local users seeking "camping near me," it would be wise to consider these contrasting experiences and perhaps seek more recent or a broader range of reviews before making a decision. If this campground is of interest, contacting them directly for more information and clarification on the mentioned issues would be a necessary step.
Ultimately, the choice of where to camp is a personal one. If the positive aspects of cleanliness and friendly staff resonate with your priorities, it might be worth investigating further. However, the serious allegations in the negative review regarding management, facilities, and campsite quality should also be carefully considered. Proceed with caution and gather more information to ensure your "camping near me" experience in the Lake George area is a positive one.

Lake George Riverview Campground Reviews
This campground is being run by unprofessional staff with little to no experience. They have little to no customer service/satisfaction in mind. They make and change the rules as they go along not sticking to their own policy. They have a mildly convenient location but not worth the hassle anymore. No grounds security as the gate is wide open at all times, many of the listed activities get cancelled 15 minutes after the start time with no concern or care for the children it affects, rude staff, pool is small, outdated and freezing. The grounds maintenance is beyond lacking attention. This campground is being run into the ground and I strongly recommend you don’t waste your time with them as I have for the past several years. Sites are cramped and closely reflect a parking lot. Most sites have little to no shade. I hate to post such negativity but you reap what you sow. I imagine they will sell out to a large conglomerate like their parent campground King Phillips did. Good luck.
Apr 11, 2025 · Paul EThis Family Campground is so Amazing!Always clean and the staff is so friendly! We used to go with my parents back when I was a kid and convinced my parents to start continue the tradition. When we went back, we were amazed by the remodeling done to this amazing campground! We had so many memories from there when I was a kid. Now making new memories with my little man there!
Mar 03, 2025 · Mike VlachMy wife & I camped here in July of 2024. We had a full hook up site right on the river. Our site was great and we had a fire every night with the view of the river. Great star watching! We are already booked for this year. Friendly staff. Loved the beach.
Mar 03, 2025 · Robert JamesWe stayed here the weekend of September 14th -21st so the campground was definitely quieter. The hot air balloon festival was the next weekend so it filled up towards the end of the week. We stayed in site H19. There were no campers below so we had a great view of the river. We have a 39 ft rv and we didn’t have room for our truck so we had to park it on the grass. Employees were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Apr 02, 2025 · Arlene RemusThe campground was very nice. Sites were a bit small where we camped. The bathrooms are very clean. Showers were great. Not a lot to do at campground. Buy it was also considered not peak season. Will definitely be staying again in the future.
