Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience with beautiful lake views in North Dakota, Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground, located approximately 3 miles WNW of Ashley (actual location, not the mapped location in the middle of Ashley), offers a lakeside setting for your outdoor adventure. This small campground, part of the Lake Hoskins Recreation Area, provides basic amenities and a friendly camp host, making it an option for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the region. While some past visitors have noted areas for potential improvement, the campground offers an affordable base for exploring the lake and surrounding area. For the most up-to-date information and to make reservations, you can contact them at (701) 288-5141 or +1 701-288-5141.
The environment of Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground is characterized by its proximity to Lake Hoskins, offering campers great views of the water. The setting is described as beautiful, suggesting a tranquil and scenic location. However, it's important to note that past feedback indicates a potential issue with insects, specifically mosquitoes and flies, particularly during certain times of the year. While the natural environment around a lake can be prone to insects, one review suggests that more landscaping, such as cutting down and trimming trees, minimizing bushes, and managing grass and cattails along the lake, could help mitigate this issue. Despite this potential drawback, the allure of camping by Lake Hoskins, with its open skies and North Dakota landscape, remains a significant draw for those seeking a "camping near me" experience centered around a body of water.
The services at Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground are described as basic but functional. For RV campers, the sites are reported to be large and equipped with fire rings, picnic tables, and essential hookups including electrical service (50/30A) and water. A dump station is available for RV waste disposal, although a past guest noted that the flush hose fitting was worn. The campground also features a shower house and bathroom, which are mentioned as basic but clean. For those looking to stay connected, a significant positive is the provision of free wifi, with a decent reach reported to extend to at least RV site 5. While the water service is available at the RV sites, it's important to be aware that a past review mentioned the water being very metallic with inconsistent, mostly poor pressure. Despite this, the availability of essential services like electricity, water (albeit with noted quality issues), and waste disposal makes this a viable option for RV camping near Ashley. Tent camping might also be possible on the grounds, given it's also referred to as a campground, but specific details on tent sites and amenities for tent campers are not provided in the available information.
The features of Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground are geared towards enjoying the lakeside setting and providing basic camping comforts. The great views of Lake Hoskins are a primary feature, enhancing the overall camping experience. For those interested in water activities, there is a small fishing dock and boat access available, allowing campers to enjoy fishing and potentially other water sports on the lake. The presence of plenty of picnic tables around the grounds suggests that there are ample opportunities for outdoor dining and gatherings. Additionally, a picnic shelter is available, which is noted as being large enough to accommodate groups. For families with children, there is a playground on-site, although a past review mentioned that it is getting old and in need of repair, indicating potential safety concerns. The inclusion of fire rings at RV sites allows for campfires, and the free wifi is a significant feature for those needing to stay connected. While the playground might need attention, the combination of lake access, picnic facilities, and wifi adds to the appeal of this "camping near me" option.
Promotional information for Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground is not explicitly provided in the available reviews. However, the mention of a $20/night fee for an RV site gives an indication of the affordability of this "camping near me" option. It's likely that rates for tent sites, if available, might be different. For the most current pricing, potential discounts for longer stays, or any special offers, it is recommended to contact the campground directly at the provided phone numbers. Inquiring about seasonal rates or any local promotions could also be beneficial for local users planning a camping trip. Given the feedback about the need for some improvements, it's possible that the campground might offer competitive rates to attract visitors. Direct communication will provide the most accurate information on pricing and any available deals.
To book a stay at Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground or to inquire further about their facilities and services, contacting them directly via phone at (701) 288-5141 or +1 701-288-5141 is the best course of action. Speaking with the camp host or management will allow you to get the most up-to-date information on site availability, specific amenities for RV and tent campers, the current condition of the facilities (including the playground and water pressure), and the process for making reservations. It's advisable to call ahead, especially during peak camping seasons, to ensure you secure a spot. When you call, be prepared to provide details about the type of camping you plan to do, the length of your stay, and any specific requirements you might have. This direct communication will help you plan your "camping near me" experience at Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground effectively, keeping in mind the feedback from previous visitors.

Lake Hoskins RV Park & Campground Reviews
This place has so much potential. We were infested with mosquitoes and flies the 4 days we camped there. Alot of landscaping would help minimize this. Cut some trees down, trim the trees up, minimize all those bushes and cut all the grass and cattails along the lake. The playground is also getting old and needs help. I can push it side to side. Like I said this place has some great potential.
Aug 24, 2023 · Brian HaverkampThe current location on maps (showing it in the middle of Ashley) is incorrect. It’s actually the Lake Hoskins Recreation Area, about 3 miles to the WNW. It’s a small campground with great views of the lake. There’s a camp host on premises that collects fees, very friendly. The shower house/bathroom is basic but clean. Dump station is good (needs a new flush hose fitting as it’s getting too worn to screw into a hose adapter). The RV sites are big with fire rings and picnic tables, electrical service (50/30A) and water. Plenty of picnic tables around the grounds too. Small fishing dock and boat access. Setting is beautiful. There’s a picnic shelter that should accommodate large groups. Fee was $20/night for an RV. Only negatives: Water is very metallic and pressure was inconsistent, mostly poor. Huge positive: Free wifi provided and it had a decent reach (I think that the access point is near the showers and it reached to RV site 5 just barely). When connected, the speed was awesome.

Jun 03, 2019 · ꧁Máirín꧂It was fun. It's a really nice place. My grandchildren like to go fishing there. They enjoy taking out the Kayak and paddle boat when they are here for the summer.
