Let's delve into the environment, services, features, and some of the feedback from campers at Lake Ivanhoe Campground.
Location and Environment:
Lake Ivanhoe Campground is situated in East Wakefield, New Hampshire, and as the name suggests, it provides access to Lake Ivanhoe. One reviewer noted that "the lake beach is also clean and was gorgeous in the fall color!" This indicates that the campground benefits from a beautiful lakeside environment, likely offering opportunities for swimming, enjoying the views, and other water-related activities, although these are not explicitly detailed. The campground is also described as being in a location where you can appreciate the natural beauty, particularly the fall foliage. While one review mentions it can be a "crowded campground," it also notes that it does a "pretty good job of making you feel relatively private in your own campsite," suggesting that the layout is designed to offer a degree of personal space despite its popularity. The large and comfortable sites further contribute to a pleasant camping environment. For those looking for "camping near me" with lake access and scenic surroundings, Lake Ivanhoe Campground appears to be a strong contender.
Services and Amenities:
The reviews provide insights into the services and amenities available at Lake Ivanhoe Campground. The owners are consistently praised as "super helpful and quick to respond" and "friendly," indicating a positive and supportive management. The campground offers free, clean, and fairly updated showers, which is a significant plus for many campers. The campsites themselves are described as "large and comfortable," accommodating different camping setups. While one reviewer mentioned that it "doesn’t have lots of the resort type amenities," this was seen as a positive aspect by that particular camper, suggesting a focus on a more traditional camping experience rather than extensive recreational facilities. However, another review notes that "there are some activities scheduled," indicating that there are some organized events for guests. The facilities are also described as "particularly good for people with small children," implying amenities or activities geared towards younger families. One notable downside mentioned by a tent camper was the distance of the tent sites from the flush toilets, which are located near the check-in and rec center. This camper felt that a closer flush toilet would be expected given the nightly rate. Additionally, the fire pit at the tent site was described as "a bit challenging to work with" as it was a natural stone structure without a grate, requiring campers to bring their own for cooking. Despite these points, the overall impression of the services is positive, particularly regarding the helpfulness of the owners and the cleanliness of the facilities.
Features and Highlights:
A primary highlight of Lake Ivanhoe Campground is its access to the clean and beautiful Lake Ivanhoe. The large and comfortable campsites are another significant feature, providing ample space for campers. The free, clean, and fairly updated showers are a well-received amenity. The friendly and helpful owners contribute positively to the overall experience. For families, the campground seems well-suited with scheduled activities and facilities that cater to small children. While the tent sites' distance from the flush toilets and the fire pit situation were noted as drawbacks by one camper, the overall sentiment is that it's a nice campground with lake access. The fall colors by the lake are also mentioned as being particularly gorgeous, suggesting a beautiful setting during that season. For those searching for "camping near me" with lake access, spacious sites, and a family-friendly atmosphere, Lake Ivanhoe Campground offers these key features.

The "large and comfortable" campsites and the provision of free, clean, and fairly updated showers add to its appeal. For families looking for "camping near me," the scheduled activities and facilities for small children make it an attractive option. While potential tent campers should be aware of the distance to the flush toilets and the need for a grate for the fire pit, the overall experience seems positive, with one reviewer stating, "I will be back" and another saying, "I would camp here again." Lake Ivanhoe Campground Reviews
Clean and friendly campground! It doesn’t have lots of the resort type amenities, but I liked that about it. The owners are super helpful and quick to respond. The showers are free, clean, and fairly updated and the sites are large and comfortable. I will be back. The lake beach is also clean and was gorgeous in the fall color!
Oct 22, 2024 · Marian WFor being such a crowded campground, this does a pretty good job of making you feel relatively private in your own campsite. There are some activities scheduled, and the facilities seem particularly good for people with small children. The biggest downside for me is that the tent sites are located at quite a walk from the flush toilets, which are right next to the check-in and rec center. This is an expensive place to go tenting and I think a reasonably close flush toilet would have been an expected amenity at $60/night for a single campsite (three adults, 2 kids, 2 tents). The fire pit was also a bit challenging to work with. Although it was very pretty and made of natural stone around the sides, there was no grate and if we hadn't brought our own grate, we would have been unable to cook over it. Overall it is a nice campground with lake access and friendly owners, and I would camp here again. If they ever feel like making another upgrade to their campground, a flush toilet nearer to the tenting section would be my vote.
Jul 19, 2021 · Unity DienesNice campground.. All sites are wooded and there is a small but very quiet beach across the road and within walking distance for ALL.. including the loons.. 😊
Jul 16, 2022 · Greg BoydGreat weather great sites and a lake can't ask for much more
Jun 25, 2022 · Arthur RidleyThis campground was really fun! Small but really nice lake. You can rent kayaks or canoes. I saw a few loons while kayaking. They have a playground, cute splash pad, air hockey, pool table, and a small store. The bathrooms/showers were really clean. The campsite was really nice and had a fire pit. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this campground!
