Loop Campground Introduce
For local residents in Utah and surrounding areas searching for a "camping near me" experience that emphasizes natural beauty, tranquility, and a chance to disconnect from technology, Loop Campground near Dugway offers a promising option. This campground, while providing basic amenities, is lauded for its scenic environment and opportunities for wildlife viewing, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful escape into nature. If you're looking to trade the hustle of daily life for the quietude of the outdoors, Loop Campground invites you to unwind and immerse yourself in its natural charm.
The environment surrounding Loop Campground is consistently described as beautiful, even if the journey to reach it involves a "bumpy" drive. This suggests that the destination rewards the effort of getting there with picturesque landscapes. The emphasis on nature and scenery makes it an appealing choice for those who appreciate the visual beauty of Utah's outdoors. The campground seems to be nestled in a location that allows for close encounters with wildlife, as evidenced by reports of deer being very comfortable around people and approaching campsites, even showing interest in campers' dinners. This proximity to nature enhances the overall experience for those seeking a more immersive outdoor stay. Furthermore, the presence of plenty of birds and butterflies adds to the serene and natural ambiance of the campground, making it a haven for nature lovers.
In terms of amenities, Loop Campground offers the essentials for a comfortable, albeit basic, camping experience. Each campsite is equipped with a fire pit, providing a designated and safe space for campfires and cooking. Additionally, a picnic table is provided at each site, offering a convenient surface for meals and other activities. Notably, one particular site is mentioned as having two picnic tables, which could be advantageous for larger groups or those desiring extra space. It's important to note that Loop Campground does not offer running water. However, one reviewer found that bringing a 5-gallon water jug was sufficient for their needs, indicating that with a little preparation, the lack of running water is manageable. Similarly, no dumpsters were observed at the campground, meaning that campers are responsible for packing out all of their trash. This reinforces the need for visitors to be self-sufficient and adhere to Leave No Trace principles.
One of the key features highlighted by a visitor is the helpfulness of the camp host. A knowledgeable host can significantly enhance the camping experience by providing information about the campground, the available sites, and the surrounding amenities or trails. While the review mentions the availability of trails, the reviewer's group chose to "unplug and relax," suggesting that the campground itself offers a peaceful environment conducive to simply unwinding and enjoying the natural surroundings. This duality – access to trails for the active camper and a tranquil setting for relaxation – broadens the appeal of Loop Campground to different types of outdoor enthusiasts.
The wildlife encounters seem to be a significant draw of Loop Campground. The deer, in particular, are noted for their comfort around humans, offering unique and memorable experiences for campers. The presence of various bird species and butterflies further contributes to the natural charm and provides opportunities for wildlife observation. These close encounters with nature can be a major highlight for those seeking a genuine connection with the outdoors and a break from the often sterile environments of urban life. The experience of observing wildlife in its natural habitat, just yards from your tent, can create lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
The overall sentiment from the reviews suggests that Loop Campground is an ideal destination for those specifically looking to "shut out technology" and "wrap yourself in nature and scenery." It caters to individuals and groups who want to get away from the distractions of modern life and immerse themselves in a more natural setting. The basic amenities encourage a simpler way of living during your stay, focusing on the essentials of camping and the beauty of the environment. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the potential for wildlife sightings and the scenic surroundings, makes Loop Campground a compelling option for a restorative getaway.
While promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews, the consistent praise for the natural beauty and the opportunity for a tranquil escape serve as strong implicit endorsements. The helpfulness of the camp host also suggests a level of service that aims to enhance the visitor experience. For local users searching under "camping near me" who prioritize a serene natural environment, wildlife viewing opportunities, and a break from technology, Loop Campground offers a compelling option. The basic amenities require some preparation, such as bringing your own water and being responsible for your trash, but the rewards of stunning scenery and peaceful surroundings appear to be well worth the effort. If your ideal camping trip involves quiet reflection in nature, the chance to observe wildlife, and a break from the digital world, Loop Campground near Dugway could be the perfect destination for your next outdoor adventure.

Loop Campground Reviews
The drive up is bumpy, but beautiful. Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table. Just one site has 2 picnic tables. We stayed at that double site. We were able to fit 3 tents there. No running water, but a 5 gallon jug did just fine. No dumpsters that I saw, so we drove out our trash. The deer there are very used to people and they came right up to us, sniffing our dinner.
Aug 17, 2024 · Andrea MillwardHad a good time. Although there are trails available. We chose the unplug and relax. The camp host was very helpful and knew all about the sites and amenities. Plenty of birds and butterflies. Saw a few deer within 30 yds of tent. All in all...if your looking to shut out technology, wrap yourself in nature and scenery, or just get away this is the place.
Jul 01, 2018 · Eddy OBonnonPretty little campground. It only appeared to have 2 spots. 1 was a group campground, the other was a single. Both close the a little stream flowing pretty well for end if August.Pros: by water, has tables, firepots with grills as well, lush vegetation, and pretty.Cons: right off the side of the road, not very private. Also water you'll have more mosquitos
Sep 01, 2021 · UtahtravelsWe go up every year and really enjoy this campground. Far enough up the canyon that we have no service and can enjoy family time yet close enough to home that we can go up easily. The only downfall was the bathroom, but that is to be expected in a public outhouse
