Great place for camping, tons of trees, some parking spots are small but good for 2 cars or more, we were at spot 4 and were able to fit 2 cars, a ten men tent plus extra space for more tents, the river is close by, walking distance for an area kids can play or to get extra water, group size was next to us lot 8, big parking lot next to the bathrooms, was pretty nice, spot 7 was next to us but notice to access that spot you parked by bathrooms same as 8, I’m not sure but I think 7/8 are both together the group site and in between them there is a swing hanging out of the tree my kids had fun with that, until the group came and kick them out. Bathroom were clean, magically didn’t stink. There is a hike you can do from the camp site, that goes all the way up is difficult level, we didn’t finish it because we were with my 2 1/2 years old and I was pregnant, so we didn’t see the end of the trail. Overall was nice clean and quiet. You have to pay $10 per night per extra car cash or check, the road to get there is gravel but easy to get there, we were in a mini van and made it fine, spot 5 had a long parking lot but spot 6 not sure where you parked was the smallest spot I saw.Sorry I’m writing a big review because when I was looking into this place I didn’t see many reviews and I hope this can be helpful to others, one more thing I had limited cellphone service but my son with T-Mobile he had none other members of my family had service poor but with service, T-Mobile was the only one with no service - Anghela Jensen

Based on the detailed reviews provided, this campground stands out for its cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, abundance of trees, and proximity to a river, making it an ideal destination for families, groups, and individuals looking to reconnect with nature. The availability of both individual and potentially combined group campsites, coupled with accessible road conditions, further enhances its appeal.

The environment of Boy Scout Campground is consistently praised for its natural beauty and tranquility. The presence of "tons of trees" suggests ample shade and a picturesque setting, creating a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing camping environment. The proximity to a river, within walking distance from the campsites, is a significant feature. This provides opportunities for children to play in a safe area and a convenient source for obtaining extra water (though purification is always recommended). The overall atmosphere is described as "very quiet & peaceful," indicating a serene escape from the noise of urban life, allowing campers to truly relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. The fact that the area is "well taking care of" by both the host and visitors speaks to a community that values and maintains the natural integrity of the campground.

In terms of services and features, Boy Scout Campground offers a range of amenities that contribute to a positive camping experience. Each campsite appears to have designated parking areas, with some spots, like site 4, being spacious enough to accommodate two or more cars along with a large ten-person tent and additional tent space. However, it's noted that parking spot sizes can vary, with site 6 being the smallest observed. The presence of bathrooms is a significant convenience, and notably, they are reported to be "clean" and surprisingly "didn’t stink," which is a significant plus for any campground facility. For recreational activities, the campground offers a hiking trail that starts from the campsite and goes "all the way up" with a difficult rating, providing a challenging option for more adventurous hikers. Additionally, a swing hanging from a tree between what are believed to be group sites 7 and 8 offers a fun, albeit potentially shared, amenity for children.

The campground seems to cater to both individual campers and larger groups. Sites 7 and 8 are mentioned as potentially being a combined group site, sharing a parking area near the bathrooms. This suggests that Boy Scout Campground can accommodate larger gatherings, making it suitable for family reunions or group outings. The presence of a "big parking lot next to the bathrooms" further supports the capacity for accommodating multiple vehicles associated with group camping. The helpfulness of the camp host is also highlighted, with one reviewer mentioning being greeted shortly after arrival and the host being "very clean & friendly." This positive interaction with campground staff can greatly enhance the overall camping experience.

Several practical details are provided in the reviews that are useful for planning a trip to Boy Scout Campground. There is a fee of $10 per night for each extra car beyond the first, payable in cash or check. The road leading to the campground is gravel but described as "easy to get there," even in a minivan, indicating good accessibility for most vehicle types. However, potential visitors should be aware of limited cell phone service in the area. One reviewer with T-Mobile reported having no service, while other family members with different providers had poor but some level of service. This is an important consideration for those who rely on mobile communication.

The detailed review provided by one visitor serves as valuable "promotional information" by offering specific insights into the layout and features of different campsites. This level of detail, including the capacity of site 4, the parking situation at sites 7 and 8, and the mention of the swing, can be incredibly helpful for prospective campers when choosing a site that best suits their needs. The positive overall assessment of the campground as "nice clean and quiet" further encourages others to consider it for their camping trips. The emphasis on the care taken by the host and visitors alike reinforces the positive atmosphere and the likelihood of a pleasant stay.
