Lynden / Bellingham KOA Journey Reviews
I have been trying to call and get a reservation for over a week. No one has ever answered the phone, on either line, or returned my calls. I needed to ask about longer stays and can’t book online. This is extremely unprofessional and a horrible way to run a business! I wouldn’t stay here now if you paid me! Clearly the staff is unreliable, unreachable and this is not how you run a business! I can’t believe this is a KOA!Response: that’s so weird, would you like me to send you the log of all my calls? No one ever answered during your business hours. And I did leave 3 messages, NO ONE returned my calls. I’d say I dodge a huge bullet by you not returning my calls! Unreachable, unprofessional, dishonest as all get out! Good luck!✌️
Apr 16, 2025 · Kim O'DonnellGreat stay at a wonderful park. We stayed in a spacious patio site, with a view of the lake. We came in Sunday and left Friday so the park was quiet and peaceful. Staff were always friendly and attentive. We brought our dogs and they had so much fun. Used our time to relax, read, swim in the pool, and play ladder golf. KOA was clean and well cared for. Close to town for adventure and a variety of food if desired!
Aug 24, 2024 · Ken DavisOur family stayed at KOA Lynden for the Canada Day long weekend. This is a well kept camp ground, with a lot of amenities for families. Our lakeside site was relatively small, but the view was great. We enjoyed the activities there, the Den served good ice-cream and coffee, staff were friendly. We could pretty much get what we needed, including ice and firewood at the office. The only complaint was the noise, people didn't seem to respect the quiet time set at 10 pm, I could still hear people talking loudly until 1 am.There are nice restaurants and grocery stores nearby, we had a nice walk at the Dutch Village and enjoyed the food there. Everything went well until the last evening when it started to rain. Our site was flooded from the rain. It wasn't a pouring rain, just because of the poor drainage and our site was located at the bottom of a slope. We wish we were told about the risk of flooding and could have left a day sooner. We spent hours to pack the wet tent and stuffs and days to clean up the mess when we got home. Our neighboring sites were also flooded. For those who would like to reserve a lakeside site, keep an eye on the weather forecast. We took a look around, seems like the other tent sites away from the water were fine.
Jul 02, 2024 · Ho JaphieI felt compelled to leave a review, as someone who stays here annually. Some of the complaints I've read about are warranted -- barking dogs, are probably THE most annoying thing about staying here. And I think whoever owns this campground should reconsider their pet policy. What happens is, someone's dog(s) will bark at any person who walks past. Then, any neighboring dogs will also start barking. And you're lucky if the owners are present and deal with it, otherwise there is a major disruption to the peace that can go on for several minutes, over and over, during the daytime. It is surprising to me how many dog owners simply tie their dogs up outside and then leave them alone while they go do other activities. There are also a lot of kids, but I've never actually found this to be a problem. Now that I have my own kids to bring here, I'm thankful for the safe and welcoming environment. There seems to be a common mindset that everyone quiets down pretty early on, around 9 or so. Never had an issue with noise after then or ever when I was trying to sleep. As for the campground itself, it's awesome. There is a lot to do. And also the general store has REALLY good prices for any items you may need to purchase during your stay.We had one rude staff member on our recent trip. But EVERYONE ELSE has been friendly and welcoming. We enjoy our yearly trip and will continue to come back. My kids love feeding the ducks. When they run out of duck food at the store, you can probably blame us 😂
Jul 31, 2024 · BugOutGirlWe booked a tent site for two nights. The site is very kid-friendly - we enjoyed the Goonies movie night, mini golf ($3.50 per person for 18 holes), fishing at the lake and peddle boating ($5 per half hour). There were other activities we didn’t take part in such as bingo, dance party and tractor rides. Many sites seemed a bit close together so there isn’t a whole lot of privacy. My only complaint is that there aren’t enough toilets and showers in relation to the number of sites, and the wifi was spotty.
