Melbourne Beach Mobile Park Introduce
For local residents of Melbourne Beach, Florida, and the surrounding Space Coast area seeking an exceptional "camping near me" experience, Melbourne Beach Mobile Park, located at 2670 S Hwy A1A, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951, USA, presents a unique opportunity. With contact numbers (321) 723-4947 and +1 321-723-4947, this mobile park appears to offer RV and camper parking with the remarkable feature of being directly on or adjacent to the beach. Based on the provided customer reviews, this introduction will detail the environment, potential services, distinctive features, and important considerations for local users interested in beachfront RV camping.
Immersive Beachfront Environment of Melbourne Beach
The most striking aspect of Melbourne Beach Mobile Park, as highlighted by the reviews, is its immediate proximity to the beach. One reviewer explicitly mentions camping "on or right next to the beach," indicating an unparalleled beachfront camping experience. Melbourne Beach itself is a barrier island along Florida's Space Coast, known for its beautiful sandy beaches, sea turtle nesting sites, and views of rocket launches from the nearby Kennedy Space Center. The environment here is characterized by the sights and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean, including crashing waves and sea breezes. Camping directly on or next to the beach offers a truly immersive experience, allowing guests to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and wake up to stunning sunrises over the water.
However, the reviews also provide important insights into the environmental conditions. One camper noted "very high winds all week," making it difficult to leave windows open to enjoy the ocean sounds at night. This suggests that while the beachfront location is a major draw, it can also come with exposure to the elements, particularly wind. Another significant point raised is the issue of corrosion due to the salty sea air. A reviewer mentioned their bikes and camper rusting within three days, highlighting the potential impact of the marine environment on equipment. This is a crucial consideration for local RV and camper owners planning an extended stay right on the beach.
Despite these environmental factors, the opportunity to witness a nighttime rocket launch from the "almost empty beach" is a unique and significant feature of this location, leveraging the Space Coast's renowned activity. The overall consensus from one reviewer was positive, deserving 5 stars, while acknowledging that "mother nature" could sometimes present challenges.
Potential Services and Amenities at Melbourne Beach Mobile Park
As Melbourne Beach Mobile Park is described as a "mobile park," it likely primarily caters to RVs and campers, potentially offering long-term and short-term parking options. Based on the context and the reviews, we can infer some potential services and amenities:
- Beachfront RV/Camper Parking: The primary offering is parking spaces for RVs and campers with direct or very close access to the beach. The nature of these sites (e.g., size, hookups) isn't detailed in the reviews.
- Potential for Standard Hookups: While not explicitly mentioned, RV parks typically offer hookups for electricity (likely 30 and/or 50 amp), water, and possibly sewer at some or all sites. Beachfront sites might have more limited hookups.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: As a mobile park accommodating RVs and campers, communal restroom and shower facilities are likely available for guests, especially those on more primitive beachfront sites.
- Water Access: Access to potable water for RV tanks and general use would be expected.
- Long-Term and Short-Term Options: One review mentions a potential monthly parking fee for RVs or campers, suggesting both short-term and long-term tenancy might be available. The "camping near me" category would primarily attract those seeking shorter stays.
The reviews do not provide information about other common campground amenities such as laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, recreational areas, or a camp store. Local users should contact Melbourne Beach Mobile Park directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about the full range of services and amenities offered.
Unique Features of Melbourne Beach Mobile Park for Local Users
Melbourne Beach Mobile Park offers several unique features that make it a compelling "camping near me" option for local RV and camper owners:
- Direct Beachfront Access: The most significant feature is the ability to camp directly on or adjacent to the beach, providing unparalleled ocean views and access. This is a rare and highly desirable camping experience in Florida.
- Potential for Rocket Launch Views: Its location on the Space Coast offers the unique opportunity to witness rocket launches from the nearby Kennedy Space Center, as highlighted by one reviewer's experience of a nighttime launch.
- Sense of Community: The mention of meeting "so many of the tenants" on daily walks suggests a sense of community among those staying at the park, which can be appealing for both short-term and long-term visitors.
- Potential Affordability for Long-Term Stays: The mention of a potential $1000 monthly parking fee for RVs or campers suggests that long-term stays might be relatively affordable compared to other beachfront accommodations. Short-term rates would need to be confirmed.
- Option for Different Camping Experiences: The reference to returning to "the other side of the road" where they camped before suggests that the mobile park might have different sections, potentially offering varying environments or levels of amenities, with the beachfront being a distinct option.
Local users interested in a beachfront RV or camper experience with the potential for rocket launch views should definitely consider Melbourne Beach Mobile Park. However, they should also be mindful of the potential for high winds and the corrosive effects of the salt air, as mentioned in the reviews.

Melbourne Beach Mobile Park Reviews
I loved it. We saw a nighttime launch which was great from the almost empty beach. We camped on or right next to the beach this time which was beautiful except there were very high winds all week and couldnt leave windows open to hear the ocean at night because the wind was so loud. Not the fault of the campground but mother nature! Our bikes & camper were rusting in 3 days! It ruined much that we couldn't get off. Live and learn!I'd return to the other side of the road, we camped over there before. It was a nice stay, deserves 5 stars.... mother nature, 3 stars! 😉
Nov 09, 2023 · Kari BI haven't stayed but I have met so many of the tenants on my daily walk. They tell me how great it is and it is only about $1000 to park there with your RV or camper. I might be a future tenant!!!
Apr 18, 2025 · Patrick FOcean beach camping in the best location. The best sunrises with just a minutes walk to the beach. No reservation policy can make planning difficult. Prices are the most reasonable for beachfront. Definitely, a place to keep returning to.
Jul 07, 2024 · Missi DeanAbsolutely beautiful!! Walk right onto beach from the campsites. The beach isn't packed with people. You may even have the opportunity to witness baby sea turtles making their way to the ocean because the sea turtles come lay their eggs in the dunes directly infront of the campground! The staff are very nice as well!! Highly recommend!
Jul 18, 2021 · Tysha TorreWe happened upon this sweet spot while going to the beach just across the street from the ocean. Stopped in and got a spot without reservations. Super friendly family owned business. Clean restrooms/showers and laundry facilities. Friendly and courteous long term RV campers. Highly recommend and will stay again while in Melbourne. And no bugs unlike crowded Long Point Campground.
