Wickham Park Campground Introduce
For local users in the Melbourne, Florida area searching for "camping near me," Wickham Park Campground, located at 2500 Parkway Dr, Melbourne, FL 32935, USA, offers a large and versatile camping experience. You can contact them at (321) 255-4307 or +1 321-255-4307 for reservations and information. Based on recent customer reviews, Wickham Park Campground presents a blend of positive features and some areas for consideration, making it a noteworthy option for local campers.
The environment of Wickham Park itself is described as beautiful and large, providing a flexible setting for various outdoor activities. The campground specifically features three full-service loops offering a total of 133 full hookup spaces. These sites vary in size, accommodating both smaller and very large RVs. This variety ensures that many local users with different camping setups can find a suitable spot. The presence of "lots of dogs" indicates a pet-friendly environment, which can be a significant draw for dog owners in the local community. The park's location in Melbourne also offers proximity to local attractions, and as one reviewer noted, it can even provide a vantage point for events like SpaceX rocket launches from nearby Titusville, making it a unique experience for those staying during such times.
In terms of services and features, Wickham Park Campground appears well-equipped. The availability of full hookup spaces is a significant advantage, offering water, electricity, and sewer connections at the campsites. The campground also provides two laundry rooms, with pricing described as "very fairly" priced, adding convenience for longer stays. The management is highlighted as "really accommodating and helpful," with one reviewer recounting a positive experience where maintenance promptly addressed and fixed an issue with a faulty 50A breaker. While not explicitly mentioned if there are other amenities like restrooms and showers, the term "full service campground loops" typically implies these are available. The park's overall facilities are described as "really nice."
However, some negative aspects have been noted by visitors. Issues with some dog owners not adhering to responsible pet ownership, such as not cleaning up after their dogs and allowing them to roam loose, particularly in campground C, were mentioned. This resulted in dog poop being prevalent in certain areas. Additionally, concerns were raised about a lack of parking standards, leading to RVs being parked in various orientations, sometimes encroaching on adjacent sites. Speeding vehicles, including cars, trucks, electric bicycles, and golf carts, within the campground were also noted as a problem, especially in areas where people felt unobserved.
One reviewer who stayed for a week in September 2024 mentioned a few other minor issues. Their campsite was not mowed upon arrival, which was considered annoying. Furthermore, the utility hookups at their site were on the wrong side, a problem they observed at many other sites throughout the park as well. Despite these points, they still found it to be a "nice place to stay for the money," indicating a good overall value. The on-site laundry was also mentioned as a positive.
For local users seeking "camping near me" with full hookup capabilities and who appreciate a pet-friendly environment, Wickham Park Campground offers a compelling option. The accommodating management and the presence of laundry facilities add to its appeal. The large and beautiful park setting provides a backdrop for a pleasant stay, and its location in Melbourne offers access to local events and attractions. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues with some pet owners, parking irregularities, and speeding within the campground. If these are significant concerns, it might be worth considering when making a decision.
To get the most up-to-date information on site availability, specific amenities beyond full hookups and laundry, and any current rules or guidelines, local users should contact Wickham Park Campground directly at (321) 255-4307. They can inquire about site layouts to understand the hookup locations, ask about any pet policies in place, and get a sense of the current conditions regarding parking and vehicle speeds within the campground. Understanding these details will help local campers determine if Wickham Park Campground is the right fit for their needs.
In conclusion, Wickham Park Campground in Melbourne, FL, presents a large park with full-service camping loops, accommodating management, and convenient laundry facilities, making it a potentially excellent choice for "camping near me." While some issues regarding irresponsible pet owners, parking, and speeding have been reported, the overall sentiment from reviews suggests a positive experience, especially considering the value for the money. Local users are encouraged to call (321) 255-4307 to learn more and book their stay.

Wickham Park Campground Reviews
This is a large beautiful park that allows great flexibility. The management is really accommodating and helpful. There are three full service campground loops with 133 total full hookup spaces. There is a wide variety of sizes, some quite small and some very large. Certainly one of the best campgrounds we’ve been to. There are two laundry rooms priced very fairly. Just really nice facilities. There are lots of dogs, and I mean lots, and most owners are decent and responsible. The bad though is much like other campgrounds, trashy dog owners and people who just can’t obey rules and lack simple courtesy. As at other campgrounds, there are a lot of loose dogs especially in campground C and other places where lowlifes think they don’t have to obey rules. There is dog poop everywhere especially where owners walk them thinking no one is watching. Some are even so trashy they throw the dog poop on the ground after picking it up. Dogs tied out on long leads, or in fenced areas with no one around Real deadbeats. There is apparently no parking standard, RVs are parked frontwards backwards, and even jockeyed over adjoining sites to get them in sideways. There are lots of speeding vehicles including electric bicycles, cars trucks and golf carts, again especially where people think no one is watching.
Mar 09, 2025 · Rodney BarnettWe stayed at Wickham Park Campground for a week in September 2024. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The value for the money is good, but there were some small issues. Our 50A breaker kept tripping as it was old and failing, but maintenance showed up and replaced it quickly, within 30 minutes of us calling, so that was great. Our site wasn't mowed, so that was a bit annoying. Also, our hookups were on the wrong side of our site, and this seems to be the case in many sites throughout the park. They did have laundry on-site as well. Still, a nice place to stay for the money. We were fortunate that our stay coincided with the SpaceX launch of Polaris Dawn, so that was awesome - we went up to Titusville to watch the launch.
Sep 23, 2024 · David BottomleyNice quite three nights. Flat sites that are larger than average in the first two loops. Close to amenities and only five miles to a wonderful beach. There was also an on-site farmers market on Thursday afternoon. We will be back.
May 02, 2025 · marti hoffmanIt's a lovely park during the daylight hours with all sorts of great commodities. Then it's a quiet campground overnight. It's a great place to watch the shuttles take off from Cape Canaveral and Patrick Space Force Base.
Jan 04, 2025 · Rose PlushFull hooks on the RV sites. The pedestals are in pairs so make sure you get a site that will accommodate the length of your sewer, water, electrical connections or ability/inability to pull in front-first. We have a travel trailer and the hookup was on the wrong side on our site. The parking pads are gravel and ours was pretty level. The area around the pad was grass that hadn't been mowed for a while with lots of fire ants probably because it is rainy season. The campground was quiet when we were there and overall, we had a good experience. The campground is dog friendly and poop bags are provided at the entrances to the loops.
