As a co owner of Melville's Family Campground we appreciate your feedback and comments. Melville's is a mom and pop campground now in it's 41st year. It basically was developed lakeside with partial wooded camping on the upper level. Fishing was and will always be our best amenity being on the shoreline of Saddlebag lake and connected to five other bodies of water. It's draw is peaceful, spacious and relaxing. The DNR preserves nature with strict rules and laws protecting all wildlife and nature which allows for country critters to co-exist. We are the perfect destination for anyone looking for down to earth and back to nature camping. Thank you for loyal campers that return again and again. The Legacy Lives on....and we feel blessed beyond measure. The Melville Family. - Susan Balkema

The environment at Melville's 7 Lakes Family Campground is characterized by its natural lakeside setting and partially wooded upper level. This dual landscape offers campers a choice between being close to the water and enjoying the shade and seclusion of the woods. The campground was thoughtfully developed alongside the shoreline of Saddlebag Lake, providing easy access to the water and its recreational opportunities. The presence of five other interconnected bodies of water further enhances the appeal for those who enjoy exploring and engaging with aquatic environments. While one review notes a "weird setup with half the campground away from the lake," this also implies that a portion of the campground benefits from direct lake access, which is a significant draw for many visitors.

Fishing is highlighted as the "best amenity" of Melville's 7 Lakes Family Campground, and this focus remains a core feature. Being located on the shoreline of Saddlebag Lake, with connections to five other lakes, provides ample opportunities for anglers of all levels. The variety of interconnected waters likely supports a diverse fish population, promising a rewarding fishing experience. The campground is described as "peaceful, spacious, and relaxing," underscoring the atmosphere that the owners strive to maintain. This emphasis on tranquility makes it an ideal retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. This contributes to the overall relaxing experience, allowing campers to unwind and enjoy their surroundings without feeling crowded.

Melville's 7 Lakes Family Campground benefits from the presence of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), which "preserves nature with strict rules and laws protecting all wildlife and nature."
