When considering campgrounds in your local area, it's beneficial to gather insights from fellow campers. Cranberry Lake Campgrounds has received varied feedback, offering different perspectives on the camping experience it provides. One reviewer shared a highly negative experience, describing it as the "worst campsite" they had ever visited. This individual reported significant issues, including the alleged mismanagement of reservations leading to being placed in a more crowded area than booked. The reviewer also expressed dissatisfaction with Cranberry Lake itself, characterizing it as small and overgrown with lily pads, with a limited swimming area of approximately 20 feet for the entire campground. Furthermore, the reviewer mentioned disruptive noise from loud music played throughout the day, concluding with a strong recommendation to avoid the campground entirely.
In stark contrast, another reviewer reported consistently having a "great time camping here." This positive feedback highlighted the availability of pontoon boat and kayak rentals as significant advantages. The reviewer also commended the owners as "amazing and friendly," emphasizing a welcoming atmosphere during their stays.
Considering these two very different experiences, local users searching for "camping near me" will need to carefully weigh the potential benefits and drawbacks of Cranberry Lake Campgrounds. The availability of boat and kayak rentals, as mentioned in the positive review, could be a significant draw for those interested in enjoying water activities on Cranberry Lake. The friendly owners, also highlighted in the positive feedback, can contribute significantly to a pleasant and welcoming camping environment.
However, the serious concerns raised in the negative review cannot be ignored. Issues regarding reservation management, the condition and size of the swimming area in the lake, and noise levels could significantly impact the quality of a camping trip. The description of the lake as "small and overgrown with lily pads" might deter those looking for extensive swimming or boating opportunities. The limited swimming area could also be a concern for families or larger groups hoping to enjoy the water together.
For local campers considering Cranberry Lake Campgrounds, it would be prudent to inquire further about the specific concerns raised in the negative review. Questions regarding reservation policies, the designated swimming area and its maintenance, and the campground's policies on noise levels could provide valuable insights. Additionally, inquiring about the availability and cost of pontoon boat and kayak rentals, as mentioned in the positive review, would be beneficial for those interested in these amenities.
As a platform category focusing on "camping near me" and providing information on local services and goods for sale related to camping, it is important to present an objective overview based on available feedback. In the case of Cranberry Lake Campgrounds, the reviews present a dichotomy of experiences. While one camper found it to be a great place with enjoyable amenities and friendly owners, another encountered significant issues that led to a highly negative experience. This suggests that the suitability of Cranberry Lake Campgrounds might depend on individual preferences and priorities for a camping trip.
Local users are encouraged to contact Cranberry Lake Campgrounds directly to seek clarification on the points raised in these reviews and to gather more detailed information about the campground's environment, services, and features. Asking about recent improvements or changes in management or policies might also be helpful in getting a current understanding of what to expect. Ultimately, deciding whether Cranberry Lake Campgrounds is the right choice for your local camping needs will depend on your assessment of the available information and your personal preferences for a camping experience.

Cranberry Lake Campgrounds Reviews
Worst campsite I have ever been to. A Karen runs this place. Got so bad we had to pack up the kids ranging from 1 years old too 7 years old just to leave this place at 10pm at night. Our reserved site was given away so we were forced to get a more crowded area, Lake is small and overgrown with lily pads, you have 20’ of swimming area for the entire camp site. People blearing their music all day. I can’t think of anything good to say about this place. Avoid this place at all cost!
Jul 14, 2024 · Igor LapaWe always have a great time camping here! We love that there is a pontoon boat and kayaks that we can rent. The owners are amazing and friendly, we always feel welcome.
Sep 16, 2024 · Corrine BeebeGreat place to camp. Very quiet and relaxing. Nice little place pretty fast off the beaten path. Just the kind of place I like to be.
Jun 25, 2024 · Terry GonyonCranberry Lake Campground was a last minute choice for us. The lot was small but very grassy. The lake itself is very peaceful but extremely weedy! This is not a lake for swimming in. Overall, the staff are very friendly and helpful. My biggest complaint of the weekend was the onslaught of hornets every time we tried to eat outside.
Sep 04, 2023 · Andrea CruffStayed here overnight while on a long road trip. I was getting in pretty late and the owner was so kind and helpful, and she put a map on the office door for me so I could find the campsite easily when I arrived. Quiet, pretty views on the lake, and campsite are nestled in the forest. Clean facilities.
