Merry Meadows Recreation Farm Introduce
Looking for the perfect "camping near me" destination that offers more than just a place to pitch a tent or park your RV? Merry Meadows Recreation Farm, located at 1523 Freeland Rd, Freeland, MD 21053, USA, might just be the local getaway you've been searching for. With a phone number of (410) 357-4088 or +1 410-357-4088, Merry Meadows invites local users to experience a campground brimming with amenities and activities designed to entertain campers of all ages.
Nestled in the scenic countryside of Freeland, Maryland, Merry Meadows Recreation Farm offers a unique camping environment. While specific details about the natural landscape surrounding the campground are not extensively described in the provided reviews, the mention of "lots of amenities offer activities for all ages" suggests a focus on providing a recreational hub rather than a purely rustic wilderness experience. The campground seems designed to be a self-contained destination where guests can find ample entertainment without needing to venture far.
One recent review noted that Google Maps accurately directs visitors to Merry Meadows, which is a significant convenience for those unfamiliar with the area, especially RV travelers. The review also mentioned that some sites were recently reconstructed and could be muddy after rain. This suggests that the campground is actively working on improving its infrastructure, although potential for temporary inconveniences due to ongoing developments might exist.
A key point highlighted in the reviews concerns the rules and regulations at Merry Meadows. One camper expressed concern about the number of rules, feeling they detracted from the family vacation experience. This is an important consideration for potential visitors who prioritize a more relaxed and less regulated camping atmosphere. However, it's also worth noting that campgrounds often implement rules to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests.
Specifically, the reviews mentioned restrictions on the use of golf carts, which are reportedly only allowed for those with permanent sites. This is a significant piece of information for campers who might rely on or enjoy using golf carts for transportation within a larger campground. Similarly, electric bikes and scooters were also reportedly restricted for non-permanent site holders. These regulations could influence the experience of campers who bring such personal transportation.
Another critical point raised by a long-time visitor relates to booking multiple sites for camping friends. The reviewer stated that after many years of being able to do so, they were informed upon arrival that this was no longer permitted due to insurance regulations. This change in policy, especially communicated upon arrival, caused significant frustration and uncertainty about future visits for this particular camper. It underscores the importance of confirming booking policies, especially for group camping, prior to arrival.
Despite these concerns about rules and policy changes, one positive aspect consistently mentioned is the abundance of amenities and activities available at Merry Meadows. The statement "Lots of amenities offer activities for all ages that will keep you entertained. No need to leave campground" suggests that Merry Meadows positions itself as a destination where entertainment is readily accessible. While the specific nature of these amenities isn't detailed in the provided reviews, one can infer that they likely include features such as swimming pools, playgrounds, sports courts (basketball, volleyball, etc.), game rooms, or organized activities. This focus on on-site entertainment could be a major draw for families looking for a convenient and activity-filled camping experience.
Given the information available, it's challenging to provide specific promotional details for Merry Meadows Recreation Farm. Campgrounds often have seasonal promotions, discounts for longer stays, or special offers for certain groups (e.g., military, seniors). To obtain the most up-to-date information on any promotional offers, it is highly recommended to contact Merry Meadows directly via phone at (410) 357-4088 or +1 410-357-4088 or visit their website if available. They would be the best source for details on current deals and seasonal specials.
In conclusion, Merry Meadows Recreation Farm in Freeland, MD, offers a camping experience focused on providing a wide range of on-site amenities and activities, making it a potentially attractive "camping near me" option for families and those seeking a self-contained recreational destination. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported rules and regulations, particularly concerning golf carts and other personal transportation, as well as the policies regarding booking multiple sites. It is advisable to contact Merry Meadows directly to inquire about specific amenities, rules, and any current promotional offers to ensure it aligns with your expectations for a camping getaway. While one review noted muddy conditions in recently reconstructed sites after rain, the emphasis on abundant entertainment options suggests a campground geared towards active engagement and convenience.

Merry Meadows Recreation Farm Reviews
Google maps accurately lead our RV right to our Merry Meadows destination. Our site was recently reconstructed and muddy when it rained. Unfortunately, golf carts are ONLY allowed if you have a permanent site. Lots of amenities offer activities for all ages that will keep you entertained. No need to leave campground.
Apr 02, 2025 · Melany WilsonThere are too many rules that take away from a campground , family vacation. I have no problems with rules as they are a part of life. However when I see so many people breaking all the rules of no fire, no electric bikes/scooters or golf carts if you are not a permanent site, I have to question. I often book multiple sites for other camping friends of mine and this time after many years I was told, after arriving, I cannot do that due to insurance regulations? After dozens of visits I am unsure that I want to return. This was 10/24-10/27.
Nov 10, 2024 · christopher raverDon't waste your time or money on this campground. If you do come, make sure you leave yourself an hour plus to check in. The only thing you don't have to provide at check in, is a blood sample (surprisingly). Once you get checked in, make sure you have plenty of cash. You will be nickeled and dimed your entire stay. Example, my parents came to see the grandchildren for a couple hours, and the guest pass fee for them was $20 per person (for a Halloween weekend). That was explained but it doesn't negate the outrageous fees (for providing absolutely nothing) as if two senior citizens (68 years old +) will be doing anything of significance. It was a complete money grab.
Oct 19, 2024 · Andrew EvansIt's a decent place but unfortunately I do feel that the charge too much for what it is.No disrespectful intentions..... they were very nice.
Jan 16, 2025 · Chad TwiggNice little campground we enjoyed our stay yet there's not much to do if you have young children small playground and the jump pillow and jungle jim haven't been cleaned in awhile as they were full of dirt and water. The scheduled evening activities were canceled due to wind which included a bonfire and we were told we could have a fire at our site instead which we did. And the seasonal people fly down the roads at all hour's other then that it is peaceful
