When considering "camping near me" for RVers, the primary focus often revolves around the availability of essential amenities and the overall environment of the park. Ben Franklin RV Park is characterized by its "very quiet community" feel, which is a significant advantage for those seeking a peaceful stay. The only notable source of noise mentioned is traffic from Route 30, which is an understandable consequence of its location and might be more noticeable at certain times of the day. However, the overall impression is one of tranquility within the park itself.
In terms of services and features, Ben Franklin RV Park offers several practical amenities that contribute to a comfortable stay. The provision of "heated shower rooms" is a notable feature, especially during colder months, ensuring a more pleasant experience for guests. The laundry room is equipped with a thoughtful addition: a "take a book leave a book shelf," fostering a sense of community and providing a simple way for guests to exchange reading material. Additionally, the laundry room serves as a central point for lost and found items, indicating a level of care and organization within the park.
A unique feature of Ben Franklin RV Park is the availability of a clubhouse that can be used for "quiet time," specifically mentioned as a potential space for those who "work from home." This suggests that the clubhouse offers a dedicated area where guests can have a peaceful environment for work or other quiet activities, which can be a significant benefit for long-term residents or those needing a focused space during their travels.
While one reviewer describes the park as "very basic," they also state that they "would stay again" and give it a 5/5 rating, indicating that the essential needs are met and the overall experience is positive. The convenience of the location is highlighted, with easy access to York and major highways (presumably Route 30, which is mentioned for its traffic noise). This accessibility makes it a practical choice for those wanting to explore the York area or those who are passing through and need a convenient overnight or longer stop.
Another significant feature mentioned is that "everyone is respectful," contributing to the positive community atmosphere and the quiet environment. The park is also explicitly stated to be "pet friendly," which is an important consideration for many RV travelers who bring their animal companions with them. This welcoming attitude towards pets adds to the overall appeal of the park for a significant segment of the RVing community.
Ben Franklin RV Park is also noted for its "very simple" nature and "great rates for monthly RV stays." This suggests that the park focuses on providing essential services at an affordable price, particularly for those looking for a longer-term parking solution in the York area. The simplicity might imply fewer frills or recreational amenities compared to more resort-style RV parks, but the emphasis on quietness, convenience, and affordability makes it an attractive option for a specific type of RVer.
Given the information available, the environment of Ben Franklin RV Park is primarily characterized by its quiet atmosphere, despite its proximity to a major highway. The park appears to prioritize a peaceful community feel. While the natural surroundings are not explicitly described as particularly scenic or wooded, the focus is on functionality and convenience. The mention of traffic noise from Route 30 suggests that it might be located in a more developed area rather than a completely rural setting, which contributes to its accessibility to York and major transportation routes.
The services offered include essential amenities for RV living, such as likely hookups for electricity, water, and sewer (though not explicitly stated, these are standard for RV parks). The heated shower rooms and laundry facilities with the book exchange and lost and found add value beyond the basics. The availability of a clubhouse for quiet time is a unique and beneficial feature for those needing a workspace or a peaceful retreat within the park.
Promotional information is somewhat limited but includes the "great rates for monthly RV stays," which could be a significant draw for those planning to be in the York area for an extended period. The positive reviews, particularly the 5/5 rating and the statement that the reviewer "would stay again," serve as strong endorsements for the park's suitability for its target audience of RVers seeking a quiet and convenient location. Ben Franklin RV Park Reviews
Ben Franklin RV Park is a very quiet community. The only noise heard is traffic from route 30 hence the location. The shower rooms are heated. The laundry room has a take a book leave a book shelf. Also lost and found items are left in laundry room. The clubhouse can be used for quiet time if you work from home. Other than that it is a great place to spend quiet time.
Nov 25, 2024 · Jesse GlandIt’s a very basic park but 5/5 would stay again. It’s convenient to York and the major highways. Everyone is respectful and it is pet friendly. Very simple and great rates for monthly RV stays.
Oct 26, 2024 · Beth DeatrickWe camped here for two nights and attended a quinceanera at the clubhouse. It's a very nice quiet park for couples just looking to get away or for people traveling for work. They have a beautiful fog pond with a waterfall. There's not much for kids to though. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff we spoke to were very nice and welcoming. I left a text message and received a reply first thing the next morning about getting a site.
Aug 17, 2024 · wendy brackenOne of the worst campgrounds we’ve ever stayed at. Was finally able to make a reservation after multiple calls/emails. Never once did we see anybody at the “office.” Just on the other side of the bushes at our site was a highway where tractor trailers and their J brakes were ridiculously loud. They used the site next to us as a dump station as well, so between that and the highway noise, sitting outside was not worth it. Not to mention we didn’t even have a fire ring of our own. 2 bathrooms on site that were not clean at all. And the “waterfall” to sit next to and relax wasn’t running so just buggy, stagnant water. Apparently all they care about is their clubhouse and getting that rented out because they had a big enough table at the York State Fair. Will travel the distance from Gettysburg or Lancaster if we ever come back to York. Should just turn this into a dumpy trailer park because that’s all it’s good for.
Jul 27, 2024 · Lisa BoulterThis is a nice little park that is located just outside of the main part of York Pennsylvania. This is a great campground for people who are working for travel as there are no real amenities other than laundry facilities, and a public shower house. This may not be the fanciest place you ever stay, but it is quiet other than some road noise that is honestly not that bad. They are pet friendly, and we stayed here with three dogs.
