The environment of Thousand Trails Gettysburg Farm benefits from its location in the scenic countryside near Gettysburg. While specific details about extensive natural features on the property are not readily available, the surrounding area is steeped in history and offers a blend of rolling hills and farmlands. Its proximity to Gettysburg provides easy access to numerous historical sites, museums, and battlefields, making it an ideal base for those interested in exploring this significant chapter in American history. The rural setting generally offers a quieter atmosphere compared to urban areas, allowing campers to enjoy a more relaxed outdoor experience. The well-maintained grounds, as noted by a recent visitor, contribute positively to the overall ambiance of the campground.
Based on the available information, the services at Thousand Trails Gettysburg Farm appear to cover essential camping needs. A recent review highlights that the campsites are easy to level, which is a significant convenience for RV owners ensuring a comfortable and functional setup. The positive feedback regarding the staff suggests a welcoming and helpful environment for guests. While the specifics of all services are not detailed, it is reasonable to expect standard campground amenities such as water hookups, electric hookups (potentially with varying amperage), and possibly sewer hookups at some RV sites. Campgrounds typically also provide a dump station for RV waste disposal. Restroom and shower facilities are essential for all campers, and their condition and accessibility contribute significantly to the overall experience.
The features of Thousand Trails Gettysburg Farm offer a mixed perspective based on the provided reviews. A recent visitor praised the well-maintained grounds and the overall condition of the facilities, indicating a commitment to upkeep. However, a long-term visitor of over 28 years expressed some concerns regarding certain amenities. The store's limited operating hours (reportedly open only one day a week) could be inconvenient for campers needing supplies or snacks. The suggestion for office staff to cover additional shifts in the store indicates a potential area for service improvement. The petting zoo was described as "little to be desired" and in need of a "complete overhaul," suggesting that this particular feature may not meet expectations in its current state.
Furthermore, the long-term visitor noted a decline in activities offered at the campground. While specific activities are not mentioned, the absence of them could be a drawback for families or individuals seeking organized recreation during their stay. It's important to note that Thousand Trails campgrounds often offer a range of amenities and activities, so this feedback might indicate a change over time at this specific location. Potential features that are common in Thousand Trails parks, though not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, could include laundry facilities, playgrounds, swimming pools (seasonal), clubhouses, and recreational areas for games. However, based on the review, it is advisable to inquire specifically about the availability and condition of such amenities at the time of booking.
Promotional information for Thousand Trails Gettysburg Farm is not included in the provided data. Thousand Trails operates on a membership-based model, offering various membership levels that provide different access and booking windows to their network of campgrounds. They may also offer daily rates for non-members, subject to availability. It is recommended to contact Thousand Trails directly through their website or the provided phone numbers to inquire about membership options, daily rates, seasonal promotions, and any current special offers. Given the mixed feedback in the reviews, it would be particularly beneficial to ask about the current status and operating hours of the store, the condition of the petting zoo, and the schedule of any planned activities to ensure the campground meets your expectations.
In conclusion, Thousand Trails Gettysburg Farm offers a "camping near me" option in a historically significant and scenic part of Pennsylvania. While a recent visitor highlighted well-maintained grounds and helpful staff, a long-term perspective points out potential limitations regarding the store's operating hours, the condition of the petting zoo, and a perceived reduction in organized activities. Thousand Trails Gettysburg Farm Reviews
My wife and I stayed there 4/27-5/2 and loved it. The site was easy to level and the staff there are great. The grounds are well maintained and everything seemed to be in great shape.
May 02, 2025 · Mike RoweI've been coming here for 28 plus years. I wish the store was open more than 1 day a week. Why don't the office staff pick up a couple shifts ? The petting zoo is little to be desired. In need of a complete over haul. No activities yo speak of anymore.

Sep 22, 2024 · shannon murphyAfter staying at a few rough Thousand Trails parks recently, this place was a breath of fresh air. It's quiet, with plenty of shade. Just delightful. There is on-site laundry, but note that it is *quarters only*.The area has a SO MUCH to offer from all things Gettysburg to sweet little towns and only 2.5 hrs from Philadelphia. Enjoy the park, enjoy the area.
