Minersville Campground Introduce
Are you searching for the ideal "camping near me" location in the Trinity Center area of Northern California? Look no further than Minersville Campground, situated directly next to the picturesque Trinity Lake. This campground offers a delightful camping experience characterized by cleanliness, beautiful scenery, and convenient access to lake recreation. According to visitor reviews, Minersville Campground is a fantastic destination for individuals, families, and groups looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Trinity Lake.
One of the standout features of Minersville Campground, as highlighted by a satisfied camper, is its prime location right next to Trinity Lake. This proximity offers campers the incredible opportunity to secure a campsite close to the shore, providing easy access for swimming, fishing, boating, and simply enjoying the stunning lake views. Imagine waking up to the gentle lapping of water and having the lake just a stone's throw away from your tent or RV. This lakeside access is a major draw for those seeking a quintessential lake camping experience.
While the reviewer recommends site number 5 as a particularly great option, they also point out that Minersville Campground boasts a variety of excellent campsites, each with its own unique feel to cater to different preferences. This suggests that whether you prefer a more secluded spot, a site with a specific view, or one closer to amenities, you are likely to find a campsite that suits your individual tastes. The diversity of site characteristics enhances the appeal of Minersville Campground to a wide range of campers.
For those traveling with multiple vehicles or planning to bring a boat, it's useful to know that a couple of campsites at Minersville Campground can accommodate two vehicles. However, the majority of the sites are designed to fit only one vehicle. This information is important for planning purposes, especially for group camping trips or those bringing extra trailers or vehicles. Coordinating parking arrangements in advance might be necessary.
The presence of a boat launch within or adjacent to Minersville Campground is a significant advantage for boating enthusiasts. Trinity Lake is renowned as a large and popular destination for various water-based recreational activities. The convenience of launching your boat directly from the campground makes it incredibly easy to spend your days exploring the lake, whether you enjoy fishing, waterskiing, kayaking, or simply cruising. However, the reviewer also notes that the small road within the campground experiences some traffic due to the boat launch, which is something to be aware of, especially during peak season.
Minersville Campground offers a more extensive layout than might be initially apparent. It is divided into two main sections: an upper section featuring traditional drive-up campsites, where you can park your vehicle directly at your site, and a lower section. The lower section consists of a parking lot from which you walk to your designated campsite, with the walk being a relatively short distance of 30 yards or less. This variety in campsite accessibility caters to different camping styles and preferences. Those with a lot of gear might prefer the convenience of a drive-up site, while others might enjoy the slightly more secluded feel of a walk-in site.
It is important to note that Minersville Campground operates on a cash-only basis for payment at the self-service pay station, which is located in the upper section of the campground. The fee mentioned in the review is $26 per night. Campers should ensure they have the necessary amount of cash on hand to pay for their site upon arrival. For those who might forget cash, as the reviewer did, there is a marina located just up the road that may offer an alternative to driving back to Weaverville to find an ATM. However, remembering to bring cash is highly recommended for a smoother check-in process.
The overall environment of Minersville Campground is described as clean and boasting beautiful scenery. Trinity Lake itself is a stunning body of water surrounded by picturesque landscapes, and camping right next to it allows for full immersion in this natural beauty. The combination of the lake, the surrounding forests, and the potential for wildlife sightings creates a truly enjoyable outdoor experience. The positive feedback regarding cleanliness suggests that the campground is well-maintained, contributing to a more pleasant stay for all visitors.
The reviewer who had a positive experience explicitly stated that they would "definitely be going back at some point," which is a strong testament to the quality and appeal of Minersville Campground. This indicates a high level of satisfaction and a desire to return for future camping trips at Trinity Lake.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that offers a blend of natural beauty, lake access, and varied camping options, Minersville Campground at Trinity Lake is a compelling choice. Its features include:
- Directly adjacent to Trinity Lake, offering potential for shoreline campsites.
- A variety of campsites with different feels to suit diverse preferences.

Minersville Campground Reviews
It was a fun camping trip at Minesville. Clean, beautiful scenery. We will definitely be going back at some point
Apr 24, 2025 · Bigg HiggThis is a great campground right next to the lake and if you are lucky you may get a site close to the shore. I recommend site 5 but there are lots of great ones with different feels for different tastes. A couple sites can fit two vehicles, the rest can only fit one. There is some traffic up and down the little road since there is a boat launch here as well and Trinity Lake is big for recreating. The campground is a bit more sprawling than it first appears with an upper section featuring drive-up sites and a lower section featuring a parking lot with sites you walk to (30 yards or less). The cash-only pay station is located at the upper section. $26. If you forgot cash like me, try the marina just up the road rather than driving back to Weaverville to get some, but I'm sure you'll remember.
Apr 13, 2025 · K RBeautiful views! Can't speak for the camping but I live nearby and enjoy relaxing at Minersville in the office season.
Jan 25, 2025 · Clifton FarrIt's so quiet and peaceful and most of the campsites you can see the water from.
Jun 16, 2024 · Corina SargentScenic lakeside campground, sites not packed on top of each other. Boat launch is always accessible even when lake is low. Great 4 mile trail (8 total) runs east/west along the lake shore in the treeline - good run shady even in summer.
