Ackerman Campground Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Lewiston, California area, Ackerman Campground offers a promising outdoor experience at Ackerman Camp Rd, Lewiston, CA 96052, USA. You can reach them by phone at (530) 275-8113 or their mobile number, +1 530-275-8113. Based on online reviews, Ackerman Campground appears to be a well-regarded location for those seeking a traditional camping experience with a focus on nature and friendly service.
One of the standout features highlighted in the reviews is the exceptional campground hosts. Multiple reviewers specifically mention the hosts, Michelle and Zane, and their positive impact on the camping experience. One camper described them as "awesome" and noted their attentiveness, including checking on guests and even providing firewood. Another reviewer stated that Michelle and Zane made their camping trip "extra special." Their presence contributed to a feeling of safety and a welcoming atmosphere, with Michelle consistently offering friendly greetings during morning strolls around the campground.
The maintenance of the campground also receives positive feedback. One reviewer was particularly impressed that the maintenance person (whose name they couldn't recall) went above and beyond by weed whacking and blowing off their campsite before they even set up their tent. This level of service indicates a commitment to providing clean and well-prepared sites for campers.
The physical environment of Ackerman Campground seems to be a significant draw. Reviewers mention "large sites with lots of room to play," suggesting ample space for families and activities around individual campsites. The presence of fire pits at each site is noted as a positive feature, with one camper mentioning cooking on theirs. Each site is also equipped with a table, enhancing the convenience for outdoor dining and organization.
A key piece of information for those considering bringing trailers or RVs is that Ackerman Campground currently does not offer hook-ups for trailers. One reviewer with a 33' pull trailer noted this lack of hook-ups. Additionally, they pointed out that while the sites are generally large, some spots could be "very difficult to get into" with a larger trailer. This suggests that while tent camping and potentially smaller RVs might be accommodated, careful consideration of site accessibility is necessary for larger vehicles.
The location of Ackerman Campground is another significant advantage. It is situated right by a lake or river, offering opportunities for various water-based activities such as fishing and kayaking. The phrase "whatever floats your boat!" enthusiastically suggests the potential for personal watercraft and enjoying the waterfront. This proximity to water enhances the natural appeal of the campground and provides recreational options for campers.
Cleanliness is also a noted aspect of Ackerman Campground. Reviewers specifically mention that the bathrooms are clean, contributing to a more comfortable and pleasant camping experience. This attention to hygiene is an important factor for many campers when choosing a location.
In summary, based on the available reviews, Ackerman Campground offers a clean, friendly, and well-maintained environment with spacious campsites and direct access to a lake or river for recreational activities. The campground hosts are consistently praised for their exceptional service and friendly demeanor. Each site is equipped with a fire pit (with grill) and a table. However, it's important to note that there are currently no hook-ups for trailers, and accessibility to some sites might be challenging for larger RVs. Campers should be prepared to be self-sufficient in terms of utilities.
For local users searching for "camping near me" who value a welcoming atmosphere, clean facilities, and access to nature, Ackerman Campground appears to be an excellent option. The positive feedback regarding the hosts and the environment suggests a pleasant and enjoyable camping experience. The proximity to the lake/river adds significant value for those interested in water activities. While promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews, the consistently positive experiences shared by campers serve as strong endorsements for the campground's quality and appeal.
To summarize the features and services mentioned:
- Awesome and attentive campground hosts (Michelle & Zane).
- Well-maintained grounds, with proactive maintenance including site preparation.
- Large campsites with ample space.
- Fire pits with grills at each site.
- Picnic tables at each site.

Ackerman Campground Reviews
Campground hosts are awesome they checked on us and even brought us firewood. Fire pits are nice. We cooked on ours. No hook-ups for the trailer. Large sites with lots of room to play. I have a 33' pull trailer. Some of the spots would be very difficult to get into.

He weed whacked the camp site and blew it off too before we set up our tent!Their presence made me feel safe! I would take my morning stroll around the campground and I was always greeted with a friendly hello from Michelle!I had a great adventure, clean and friendly! I would totally recommend this campground! Plenty of room between sites and the lake/river is right there for some great fishing, kayaking or whatever floats your boat! Bathrooms are clean, each site has a fire pit with grill, table, and you supply your own fun!!!!! 🎉👍🏕️

Apr 10, 2024 · S OTotal off the grid campground, but there is water( it wasn't available as of 4/20/18, the host said it will be on next month). But it had a clean bathroom with flush toilet. Fishing was best in the early morning.
Apr 23, 2018 · Sean HarrisonDecent lake access, but Lewiston Lake feels more like a little river here. Otherwise no complaints. Camp host was very friendly.
