Niagara County Camping Resort Introduce
For local residents in search of a "camping near me" experience that emphasizes the beauty of the outdoors and a strong sense of community over elaborate amenities, the Niagara County Camping Resort, located at 7369 Wheeler Rd, Lockport, NY 14094, USA, offers a welcoming retreat. You can reach the dedicated owners, Jim and Christine, at (716) 434-3991 or their mobile number +1 716-434-3991 for reservations and inquiries. Based on enthusiastic long-term and occasional camper reviews, this resort provides a "gem" of a camping experience characterized by its simplicity, natural beauty, and the exceptional care of its owners.
The environment at Niagara County Camping Resort is consistently described as "beautiful and simple" and features "beautiful well-maintained grounds." This suggests a setting where the natural landscape is appreciated and cared for, offering a pleasant and relaxing backdrop for your camping getaway. While not explicitly detailed, the mention of accommodating RVs, tents, and a few cabins implies a diverse range of camping options within the resort's layout. The atmosphere is further enhanced by a "peaceful in the morning, fun in the evening sort of bunch" of fellow campers, fostering a harmonious coexistence and opportunities for social interaction. The emphasis on bringing bicycles and yard games suggests ample space for outdoor activities and personal enjoyment within the campground's environment.
The services at Niagara County Camping Resort prioritize the essentials for a comfortable and enjoyable traditional camping experience. While acknowledging that the facilities are "dated yet clean and simple," reviewers consistently praise the availability of a "stocked store of essentials," which is a significant convenience for campers who may have forgotten items or need basic supplies. The owners, Jim and Christine, are repeatedly highlighted for being "very helpful and caring" and "usually available for any questions you'd have," underscoring a commitment to personalized guest service that goes above and beyond what might be found at larger, more corporate campgrounds. While the resort may not boast an extensive list of modern amenities, the focus is on providing the necessities in a well-maintained manner, complemented by the attentive care of the owners. Reservations are handled by phone, which one reviewer with experience prefers over online booking, suggesting a more personal and potentially efficient process.
The features of Niagara County Camping Resort are centered around its community atmosphere, the dedication of its owners, and its focus on good old-fashioned camping fun. The "community of campers" is frequently mentioned as a significant positive aspect, with a friendly and easy-going vibe that enhances the overall experience. The planned activities, though not numerous, such as a "huge community bonfire" and bingo, provide opportunities for social interaction and shared enjoyment without being overly structured or constant. The resort encourages campers to "make your own fun" by bringing their own recreational equipment, fostering a sense of self-sufficiency and engagement with the outdoors. The contrast drawn with "KOAs and Yogi Bear type campgrounds" highlights Niagara County Camping Resort's unique appeal to those who prefer a simpler, more authentic camping experience over highly commercialized and activity-saturated destinations. The reasonable prices also make it an attractive option for local campers seeking value.
Promotional information specific to Niagara County Camping Resort is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. However, the consistent positive feedback and the long-term loyalty of some campers (returning for a 10th year) suggest a high level of satisfaction that acts as its own form of promotion. The emphasis on the personal touch of the owners and the community atmosphere might be key selling points that they highlight to attract local users. To learn about any potential seasonal discounts, special offers for local residents, or promotions for longer stays, it is best to contact Jim and Christine directly at the provided phone numbers. Their personal approach to management likely extends to how they communicate any special deals or incentives to potential guests. Local camping enthusiasts might also find value in the direct phone reservation process, which could allow for personalized discussions about rates and availability.
In conclusion, Niagara County Camping Resort offers local residents a "camping near me" experience that prioritizes a beautiful, simple environment, a strong sense of community among campers, and the exceptional dedication of its owners, Jim and Christine. While it may not feature the newest facilities or a constant stream of organized activities, its charm lies in its well-maintained grounds, essential amenities, friendly atmosphere, and the opportunity for campers to enjoy traditional outdoor recreation at their own pace. For those who appreciate the core values of camping and a welcoming community, and who prefer a more personal touch over a highly commercialized experience, Niagara County Camping Resort in Lockport, NY, appears to be a true gem worth discovering. Direct contact with Jim and Christine is recommended to learn more about their offerings and to book a stay that promises a refreshing and authentic camping experience.

Niagara County Camping Resort Reviews
Started coming here in 2014 when we visited my girlfriend’s family for a week, have been making the trip every summer since then and staying most of the summer in our RV. Really enjoy and appreciate Jim and Christine for all they put into the campground, you won’t find this at any KOA. This will be our 10yr staying there and really looking forward to it!!!!
Jan 28, 2025 · Todd TroutI've been the occasional camper for most of my life and this place is a gem! It's beautiful and simple. The word resort doesn't refer to the number of 'entertain me' activities because it's really just good old fashioned camping- as in you make your own fun! There are a few activities planned throughout each month (there was a huge community bonfire on Saturday night and bingo for $1/board). That said, the community of campers (RVs, tents a few cabins) are a wonderful, easy going, peaceful in the morning, fun in the evening sort of bunch! This place is perfect for those who truly love just camping and the outdoors. Bring your bicycles, yard games, card games, floats and athletic shoes and go out to play then relax. There's so much I can say- it has dated yet clean, simple facilities, a stocked store of essentials, very helpful and caring owners who are usually available for any questions you'd have, and beautiful well-maintained grounds.Last, I would warn, that if you're looking for the newest facilities and the best and most activities to keep kids entertained, you should look to the the KOAs and Yogi Bear type campgrounds but if you want simple and beautiful try this place! It was so much better than the others in my opinion (and I have kids and have been to those other high energy campgrounds). Also, the prices are reasonable and you reserve space by phone which turns out is far better than booking online, trust me from experience! Enjoy your stay! Thank you for a wonderful experience NCCR!!
Sep 01, 2024 · Nicole CurleyI loved this campground, we stayed for 3 nights while we visited Niagara Falls. Christine was super nice, she let me pick the site I wanted. I absolutely loved the animals, the pig was my favorite. There are alot of mosquitoes, but that is to be expected with a fishing pond and swimming pond, so I would consider a screened canopy when visiting. I will be going back!
Aug 05, 2024 · Crystal PelfreyWe really enjoyed our stay here. The lady in the office is wonderful and friendly. The location is nice with a pond and lots of rv spaces. They even came to pump out or tanks without us even asking or paying!Highly recommended!
Aug 06, 2024 · Rich PetrelliI wish I could’ve rated this 0 stars. If you camp here with children there is nothing for them to do. We left a day early just to get out of there. There is a “playground” that looks like it should require a tetanus shot before getting anywhere near it. The mini golf looks like it was a victim of the Chernobyl reactor meltdown. There are seasonal sites that have campers that look like they were placed when Nixon was president, and the grass hasn’t been mowed since ‘Nam. On a positive note, the people were very friendly. This campground could be very nice with some TLC, however at $65 a night for an RV site it’s highway robbery.
