Niagara Shores Campground Reviews
We recently had our wedding here and can say happily that it met all of our expectations! The staff worked with us with everything from reservations to set up to managing the entire event. A good amount of our family and ourselves stayed the entire weekend from using rv sites, cabins, houses and hotel rooms. Friendly, beautiful and overall amazing. Highly recommend for a wedding or a weekend getaway! Thank you to all!

A perfect place to getaway.Thank you Dave & Ernie!
Aug 12, 2024 · Vanessa SatterleeWe want to say thank you for the relaxing week away from work. The site was very clean and comfortable for our stay. Everyone was welcoming, and we enjoyed hiking and exploring the area, the Erie Canal, golfing and good restaurants not too far away. As we saw the upgrading of the grounds that was going on, the place will only get better and better. Thank you.
Sep 23, 2024 · Greg WallAwesome campground with beautiful views of Lake Ontario. Although there were only a few RV sites and were kind of crowded, it was very nice. There were nice venues for weddings and other events. The campground had a great view of the lake and you can watch sunsets over the lake. The water was very pleasant, and the electricity and sewage didn’t have any flaws. There was a volleyball court, a basketball court, a small swimming pool, a vintage playground, and a mini-golf that was in renovation. The WiFi was really nice and fast as well. Also, if you visit, make sure to read the campground rules, it’s very humorous and will make you laugh! Overall awesome experience, hope I can come back again!
Jul 23, 2024 · Eason CaiThis place exceeded expectations. Stayed three nights for the 2024 eclipse in the “hotel” at this campground and it was absolutely spotless, squeaky clean, rooms and bathrooms alike, down to soft, freshly laundered mats for the showers, warm shelter, glorious memory foam king beds and plenty of hot water. The place was fully booked except for some of these rooms and tent sites and I totally lucked out finding this place at a tenth of the cost of actual hotels in the area. The owner, Dave? spent entirely too much time chatting and making sure everything was beyond satisfactory. The “hotel” was comparable to any other hotel with the exception that bathrooms are across the hall on each level, substandard for a hotel but glamping for a campground. One of the rooms appeared to have three bunkbeds in it, which is great if you’re bringing a bunch of kids and staying in the hotel. They had an “eclipse menu” and the quality of the food was way better than expected, possibly because the owner’s previous venture was in the food industry. The owner bought this campground as-is in very distressed condition not long before Covid and is performing major renovations throughout as cash flow allows. Therefore some of the facilities are in great condition, some are being refurbished and some are awaiting attention and out of service due to plumbing, electrical and/or structural issues. The tent and RV sites, most of the cabins, the hotel, dining room and the venue used for weddings and the like look appear great so far as I could tell. The center of the campground contains “Mini-Ville”, an assortment of play buildings such as chapel, post office, store, guard-house, etc. the concept of which is great for kids but they are decrepit and the owner intends to get rid of them in favor of more RV sites which is probably great from the badly needed cash flow perspective but not so great for the kids. Next to Mini-ville is an equally decrepit mini golf course which looks like it might be possible to be restored to basic functionality in a day by a highly motivated person equipped with a rake and a power washer. The place has a full-size gymnasium, an indoor recreational area with the requisite ping pong and foosball tables etc. and a moderately sized conference room, all of which appeared to be in fair condition. There is an outdoor pool and a ball-field. Despite being on Lake Ontario, which is pretty to see, there is no waterfront facility such as beach, boats or swimming, only a rough trail to a rocky shoreline which could enable you to cast for fish. I recommend walking the perimeter of the campground because there’s more to it than meets the eye and there’s an interesting historical feature to discover a few steps northwest of the ballfield. To put this review in perspective, I visited essentially out of season in the unusual circumstance of a brief surge of activity due to the eclipse. The café was open only the first day (and maybe the first day of the season) then closed due to what may have been a plumbing problem. They had time to get the hotel into what may have been better than its average state of cleanliness. I never saw anyone in the camp office, not that I needed anyone to be there.I didn’t take pictures of the facilities. The weather was great the days before and after the eclipse but unfortunately the clouds broke only a few seconds for me to snap a shot of the sun before totality occurred.I recommend visiting Niagara Shores Campground with reasonable expectations and a good attitude. I chose this place due to location and favorable reviews and I’m glad I did.
