Nine Mile Ranch Reviews
Very nice and informative people. We did not stay the night but plan to in the future. Not a fancy hotel but a nice camping area with some rustic cabins you can rent. The area is amazing with ancient rock art throughout the canyon.
Apr 15, 2025 · Mike WetzelBe aware there can be field mice in the rugged log cabins, so keep food sealed! Wood stove and atmosphere peaceful and quaint. I enjoyed it, but my wife wasn't expecting the field mice. We left after 1 day of our 2 day stay. They claim a tough refund policy, but they refunded our unused night anyways.
Dec 08, 2024 · Jonathan BuckThe campground is really nice with all the grass and the trees. I loved the friendly cats too. We stayed in the Thompson cabin, which is the smallest cabin. I was very disappointed in the fact that I was unable to cancel my reservation, even though I had made it only 24 hours before. She wanted to charge me $150 if I didn’t take the credit, so ended up changing my appointment and came out. Not really a good reservation cancellation policy and while we were there absolutely nobody was staying in any of the cabins and it wasn’t that busy. I enjoyed my stay however, the beds inside that cabin are horrible. I would never stay in the cabins again, maybe the campground. In hindsight, we only spent one day in 9 Mile Canyon and saw most of the Petroglyphs and cool sites. I don’t think you need more than one night out there and I could have stayed in Wellington or Price for about the same amount of money, with nicer sleeping accommodations. It is very peaceful out there, but I ended up leaving early due to the terrible beds. Cabins need some better beds and seal up the doors better, so beetles don’t come in the door. Killed about 5 in there. I think I wouldn’t have given this place a better rating if they had a better reservation policy it’s a really brutal policy. You know life happens things change, people have to cancel for all kinds of reasons I would think 48 hour notice would be enough. It’s not like they came out and had to do anything fancy to the cabin for crying out loud. I brought all my own bedding and cooking stuff. I could see if I was at the bed and breakfast and they had purchased food for me.
Sep 10, 2024 · RJ MIf you love petroglyphs and geology this is a must stay. It’s such a peaceful and comfortable ranch. We stayed in the Elvis Room and with the window cracked we heard elk bugling in the evening and owls hooting at dawn. We were unbelievably fortunate to get a private tour of the canyon with old timer Ben Mead. The man is treasure. We learned so much history and loved hearing stories about his days as a young cowboy riding in the canyon.
Sep 11, 2024 · Heidi Swain - KitchenThis is a great place to get away from it all!! My husband and I spent 3 nights there. The campground was clean and well maintained. We stayed in our trailer and having grass instead of dirt in our campsite really kept our trailer much cleaner. The camp hosts, Cheryl and Joe, are super friendly and knowledgeable. Cheryl suggested a book about the canyon that had mile markers, photos and historical content. Best money I ever spent. We would have missed most of the sites if we didn't have it. They also told me where to spot deer by the campground and what time is usually the best. Also suggested places to eat if we went to Price and Helper. The public restrooms were very clean and cute. There is even a nice little playground for kids. There is no Wi-Fi, which for me was kind of peaceful. Didn't really miss it as much as I thought I would. Gave us a chance to really enjoy nature and the beauty of the canyon. Would recommend this place to everyone and can't wait to go back!!!
