Based on feedback from fellow campers, Owl Creek RV Park presents a mixed experience. Several visitors have highlighted the park's well-maintained nature and the prompt service received. One reviewer specifically mentioned a quick resolution to a water issue during freezing conditions, even on a Sunday, underscoring the park's commitment to addressing guest concerns efficiently. The presence of a store on-site is also noted as a convenient amenity for campers, providing access to essential supplies without having to leave the premises.
However, it's important to consider all aspects of the feedback received. Another reviewer shared a less positive experience involving feral cats being fed by a long-term resident, which allegedly led to issues with the animals being present at their campsite, including aggressive behavior from a mother cat with kittens and sanitation concerns. This reviewer indicated that the issue took several weeks and intervention from the sheriff's department to resolve, also mentioning a purported history of the campground reacting negatively to law enforcement involvement. While this situation was eventually addressed by the removal of the cats and a site change for the affected camper, it's a point to be aware of.
The same reviewer also noted that the campground can be noisy due to its proximity to the interstate, suggesting that light sleepers might want to consider this factor. Additionally, the presence of a nearby firework establishment that reportedly sets off fireworks regularly late at night could contribute to noise disturbances. These are environmental factors to keep in mind when considering a stay at Owl Creek RV Park.
Regarding park conditions, the reviewer mentioned that the campground tends to become muddy during winter when it snows or rains, implying that ground maintenance in such conditions might be an area for potential improvement. Furthermore, communication was cited as a challenge, with the reviewer detailing difficulties in understanding payment procedures, particularly regarding online payment options, and expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of refunds after a job loss necessitated an early departure despite having paid for a full month.
Despite these mixed reviews, Owl Creek RV Park likely offers a range of standard RV park amenities. Typically, such parks provide hookups for water, electricity, and sewer, catering to the needs of RV travelers. While not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, it is common for RV parks to offer restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, and possibly recreational areas. Given the mention of a store, it's reasonable to assume that basic necessities and perhaps some camping supplies are available on-site, adding to the convenience for guests.
For local users searching for 'camping near me,' Owl Creek RV Park's location in Odessa, MO, makes it a potentially accessible option for weekend getaways or longer stays, depending on individual needs and preferences. The park's phone number, (816) 633-8720, and mobile number, +1 816-633-8720, provide direct lines of communication for inquiries about availability, rates, and specific amenities.
Considering the provided information, Owl Creek RV Park appears to be a campground that has both satisfied and dissatisfied customers. The positive feedback highlights its maintenance and responsive service in certain situations, along with the convenience of an on-site store. On the other hand, concerns have been raised regarding the handling of animal issues, noise levels due to its location, potential for muddy conditions, and communication regarding administrative matters such as payments and refunds.
For local campers exploring options within the 'camping near me' category, it would be prudent to weigh these factors based on your individual priorities. If you value a well-maintained park and appreciate quick service, Owl Creek RV Park might be a suitable choice. However, if you are particularly sensitive to noise or are planning a long-term stay and prioritize clear communication and consistent ground maintenance, it may be beneficial to inquire further about the park's current policies and conditions before making a reservation.

Owl Creek RV Park Reviews
What a nice park. We stopped for 2 nights after driving through winter conditions in Kansas City. We'll maintained park. Did have an issue with water freezing as their heat tape stopped working but to their credit it was fixed immediately on a Sunday. Thanks for the great service. Store is nice. Would stay again
Dec 01, 2024 · Don ShawWould not recommend! When we first arrived the long term camper beside us had began to feed and house feral cats that where all over our camp site…the mom cat had kittens and tried to attack us and our dog several times. The kittens pooped all over our area and were crawling in and on our vehicles. We had to pop the hood of our trucks and pull the cats out a couple times while they tried to attack us. They did finally remove the cats after we had to complain for several weeks and ended up having to move sites to get away from them. I had to call the sheriffs department to finally get the issue resolved. The sheriff even informed me I was brave to call because this camp ground has kicked people out for getting the sheriffs involved in the past…what else are you supposed to do when they won’t fix the problem? The cats could have potentially cause serious damage to our vehicle when they got stuck under the hoods not to mention the cats could have been killed. Things finally went pretty alright for awhile; however, the whole camp ground is fairly noisy because it’s right off the interstate be ready for loud nights and the firework place across the way sets off fireworks pretty regularly late at night. We stayed here because my husband travels for work and we stayed for a couple months. I notified the office asap when he got laid off and was unable to pick up another job in the area after a huge unexpected layoff that he had no control over and that we would have to leave….this was literally a couple days after I had paid for a full month as they will charge you a late fee each day it is late. They refused to refund us any money at all after paying $700 and only staying a couple days into the month. There was one month as well that a bad snow storm came in and they closed the office…I tried to call and go up and pay our rent; however, they where closed for two days and I was unable to get ahold of anyone to pay…when I went into pay finally after they opened they charged me a late fee because they said I could have paid online…..nobody was able to inform me how to pay online and I had no idea I could pay online there is no information how to pay online on their website….they refunded me one late fee charge but would not wave the entire fee because I should have paid online….that would have been fine if they notified their customers they can pay online and how too. Not to mention the entire camp ground turns into a mud pit in the winter when it snows and rains nothing is maintained here. Communication is not very good here, we had several issues during our time here. We will not be back. We have stayed long term at several camp grounds over the last two years traveling for my husbands work and never had any issues like we have had here.
Feb 09, 2025 · KMWe stopped just for one night but would have stayed longer. The sites are large and level (ours was paved) both paved and gravel. The store is large with a variety of items. The bath house is nice, with lots of hot water. There are two shower rooms and two rest rooms, all are spacious.Activities include corn hole, horseshoes and play area. The salt pool is comfortable and just what you need for relaxation and exercise. The pool table is the laundry room where four sets of washers and dryers are located.Even though it is close to I-70, there was minimal noise and not at all disruptive. We'd stay here again and highly recommend Owl Creek to others.
Jun 23, 2024 · Onara GarciaWe loved Owl Creek. The Campground looked as though they had a lot of long term campers but it got us off the highway and crazy winds that were plaguing the area. Conveniently located right off of I70, but that also means you hear the highway all day and all night. We patronized the owl creek cheese shop. Lots of cheeses, wines and various other wine and cheese related stuff. Campsights were smaller (narrow), not much personal space but water and electric were nice. Great little place to jump off and jump on and get on your way. No pictures as it was just a quick respite.
Oct 23, 2024 · Ginger BrownBest salt water pool! We had a storm during the evening & it was comforting that the manager was aware of the impending weather at check in. Made us aware of a storm shelter on site! I hadn’t experienced this before in my 30 years of camping. The laundry room was very clean as was the shower & bathroom. We’d stay here again if in the area. Very family friendly.
