Odessa Hills Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the vicinity of Odessa, Missouri, Odessa Hills Campground, located at 6505 Odessa Hills Rd, Odessa, MO 64076, USA, presents a camping option that warrants careful consideration based on available online mentions. Unlike typical campgrounds with readily accessible information, Odessa Hills Campground appears to have a unique characteristic: it is described as private property with restricted entry without prior consent. This aspect significantly shapes how potential local users might approach and consider this site for their camping needs.
The environment of Odessa Hills Campground is suggested by one reviewer to be a "nice little area tucked in the farmland of Odessa." This description evokes a setting potentially characterized by open agricultural landscapes, possibly offering a peaceful and rural atmosphere. The mention of farmland suggests that the surrounding area may be relatively quiet and offer a different camping experience compared to campgrounds located within state parks or more heavily wooded areas. The visual appeal of the location, as indicated by the reviewer who was drawn in by posted pictures, hints at a potentially scenic environment that could be attractive to those seeking a tranquil outdoor setting.
However, the limited information available is heavily overshadowed by serious negative reviews. These reviews do not provide details about typical campground services or features such as campsite amenities, restroom facilities, or recreational activities. Instead, they focus on deeply concerning allegations regarding the treatment of children at the campground. These allegations include refusing a child the opportunity to call home, making false assumptions about children, and physically touching campers without consent, such as smacking hands or dragging them by the arms. The reviewers explicitly state that these actions are not in line with Christian values, despite the camp being portrayed as a Christian camp. These are critical points that any potential user, especially those considering sending children to this campground for any organized activities, would need to thoroughly investigate and verify.
Given the nature of the provided reviews, it is challenging to objectively describe the features of Odessa Hills Campground in a positive or promotional light. The severe allegations raised by multiple reviewers cannot be ignored and should be a primary consideration for anyone thinking about engaging with this property. The fact that entry is restricted without consent further complicates the ability of local users searching for "camping near me" to assess the campground independently. Unlike public or commercially operated campgrounds where one might typically find information on amenities, rules, and booking procedures, Odessa Hills Campground appears to operate under a different model where direct contact and consent are prerequisites for entry.
From a promotional standpoint, it is difficult to extract any positive attributes based solely on the provided information. The one somewhat positive comment about the aesthetic appeal of the location is immediately followed by the discovery of the private property sign and the need for consent to enter. The far more dominant and concerning reviews paint a picture that is far from inviting, particularly for families with children. Any local user considering this campground would need to independently verify the current status, operational practices, and, most importantly, the safety and well-being measures in place, especially if the campground hosts any programs involving children.
The lack of standard information about services and features necessitates a cautious approach. One cannot assume the presence of typical campground amenities like designated campsites, fire pits, picnic tables, water sources, or restroom facilities. The private nature of the property suggests that its operation and the services offered (if any for camping) may be unique and not aligned with the expectations of a typical public or private campground. Local users would need to directly inquire about what, if any, camping services are provided and under what conditions.
In conclusion, while Odessa Hills Campground is located near Odessa, MO, and is situated in what appears to be a pleasant farmland environment, the overwhelming and serious negative reviews regarding the treatment of children are critical and cannot be dismissed. The private nature of the property and the requirement for consent to enter mean that local users searching for "camping near me" will need to proactively contact the owners to inquire about the possibility of camping and to seek assurances regarding the safety and ethical treatment of any individuals, especially children, who may be involved with the campground. Due to the gravity of the allegations in the reviews, it is imperative for potential users to conduct thorough due diligence and seek verifiable information before considering any form of engagement with Odessa Hills Campground.
Local users interested in camping in the Odessa area are strongly advised to explore other campgrounds in the region that have publicly available information and positive, verifiable reviews, particularly those listed on reputable camping platforms or managed by established organizations. The limited and highly concerning information available for Odessa Hills Campground makes it a highly uncertain option for those seeking a reliable and safe camping experience.
It is important to reiterate that this introduction is based solely on the provided text, which includes serious allegations. Without further, verifiable information from alternative sources, a comprehensive and balanced portrayal of Odessa Hills Campground is not possible. Local users should use extreme caution and prioritize their safety and the safety of any accompanying individuals, especially children, when considering this or any unfamiliar camping option.

Odessa Hills Campground Reviews
They have a no star rating from me for sure after how they refused a child wish to call home to go home the opportunity to call home. They also receive no stars from me because they make up lies and assumptions about children and then bagger children for leaving when they do FINALLY get to call their parents. But most importantly the camp directors receive no stars for me as well for how they lay hands on campers. No matter what manner of touching the directors are doing they should never and were never given consent to touch a child. Especially smacking their hands or dragging them by their arms! This is not a Christian camp as it’s made out to be! True Christians do not act maliciously towards children for any reason and that is all they have done for nearly a week. Christians should be speaking love, spirt and life into our children. That was not what was provided. The best thing you could do as a Christian is close your hate filled doors and keep your directors from mentally of physically harming anymore children.
Jun 21, 2024 · Jessi PettengillLove the pictures already posted and it pushed me to stop in to check it out. Unfortunately, there was a sign at the entry stating it's private property and cannot enter without consent. Now, I did not call, but being a Christian myself.. I'm inclined to call & look further into this nice little area tucked in the farmland of Odessa.
Oct 09, 2022 · Randy EidsonIt is always a great experience here. The cabins and dining hall have AC and heat. There is a nice pool. The campgrounds are beautiful. The only thing is they need to skim the pond.
Jul 24, 2023 · Nathan ShererLove this campground! They have really improved it over the last few years too. The pool is fantastic and the cabins are clean and air conditioned. A very peaceful place to get away from the world.
Sep 08, 2017 · Mindy KastorAaron Smith gave a great sermon, the open air tabernacle couldn't be best either. The night was beautiful as far as weather goes.
