Palmerosa Horse & Hike Campground Reviews
First time staying here under the new ownership and this campground is better than ever! Really appreciated the new horse stalls and refurbished cabin.Maintenance was super proactive - muck was removed promptly and the place looks great overall.Only things that would make it better are a hot tub and more direct trail access! Overall very happy will stay here again.
Oct 28, 2024 · Erin Ryder HsuOur family just stayed here at the Palmerosa and had a great experience. The Buckeye cabin and campground were both clean and well maintained. The camp sites were plenty big for the RV and trailer, and offered plenty of shade. Initially we did not have a camp site next to our horse stalls, but the owner was nice enough to let us relocate once another site became available. There were several horse trails close enough to keep us busy for two days and the views were beautiful!
Sep 03, 2024 · Jessica Van DrunenEnjoyed three nights in the Buckeye Cabin! Loved the screened in porch in the evenings - the spacious 'backyard' firepit area and the clean, cozy cabin! Plenty of trees provided shade and wonderful places for our hammocks! Beds were comfy and the cabin was adorable! We took two horses and used stalls 1 and 2. They were well constructed and roomy. We were with friends that camped with their 4 horses. There are high-lines in multiple places, as well as very clean restrooms. There are two shower house that were VERY clean and totally private. In order to get on the nearby equestrian trails, you must ride a little over a mile on the road, but it was no problem. Did the Buckskin Canyon trail - which was quite a hill and the trail is close to a pretty hefty drop, so I would say EXPERIENCED horses and riders only for this one. My daughter and friends did the Badger Cave trail and and said it was well maintained and beautiful. Some rocky spots - but the horses really seemed to enjoy it! For your non-horsey friends - Old Man's Cave is a15/20 minute drive from this campground. If you need some yummy food or forget anything - go to Grandma Faye's Grocery. They have about anything you could possibly need! Highly recommend Palmerosa Horse and Hike Campground and plan to return again in the fall!
Jul 20, 2024 · Rebecca DennisonLovely campground! Electric and water convenient - Stalls were great too. Just a little road riding to get on the trails, doable but it takes a while to get into the park trail system so you have to add the return ride part into your overall hours. But Buckskin Canyon trail is right off camp propery - just not quite long enough for a whole days ride. Folks all very friendly and accommodating. The good thing for us horse people is that that side of the trails has very few hikers on it! Badger cave cool as was the artesian well. Lots of sites to see! B scott
Sep 17, 2024 · b eckey scottWe stayed in a primitive tent site over the weekend and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Sites were clean and included a fire ring and grill grate. They were accommodating and ensured that we had a picnic table at our site as well.Sites felt more private than others I've encountered. Showers and bathrooms were clean and cool (a little ac was appreciated on a hot weekend). We really enjoyed our stay and also liked seeing all of the horses spending the night and the miniature horse neighbors!
