Moonlight Ridge Introduce
For local users exploring "camping near me" options in the Hocking Hills region, Moonlight Ridge, located at 22875 Purcell Rd, South Bloomingville, OH 43152, USA, presents a cabin rental opportunity. You can contact them at (740) 385-2131 or +1 740-385-2131. To provide an objective introduction, it's essential to consider the range of experiences reported by recent guests, which include both positive and significantly negative feedback.
The environment surrounding Moonlight Ridge is described by one reviewer as offering "beautiful views" and a sense of being "secluded and private." This suggests that the cabin is situated in a location that allows guests to enjoy the natural scenery and potentially a degree of isolation, which can be appealing for those seeking a peaceful "camping near me" escape. However, another reviewer encountered significant challenges with the address provided, stating that it led them to the wrong location using both Apple Maps and Google Maps. They eventually found the cabin using a different address found through a separate Google search, highlighting a potential issue with the accuracy of the listed address. Additionally, the cabin is located up "STEEP hills," and one review notes that four-wheel drive may be required in winter to access it, indicating that accessibility could be a factor depending on the season and vehicle type.
In terms of services and amenities, reviews offer a mixed perspective. One positive review mentions a "nice hot tub that does get up to 104 degrees," suggesting this as a desirable feature for relaxation. The cabin also offers satellite TV but reportedly no internet access, which could be a consideration for guests who need to stay connected. Cell service is reported to work for ATT and Tmobile networks, but Verizon service was not tested by the reviewers. The cabin is also described as "pet friendly," which is a significant service for those wanting to include their animals in their "camping near me" experience. However, one reviewer noted a potential safety concern regarding salt on the steps for pets. Conversely, a highly negative review detailed several significant issues upon arrival, including an empty propane tank (despite being promised full), a "murky and absolutely disgusting" hot tub, and a lack of response from the host when contacted about these problems. This discrepancy in reported services and upkeep is a critical point for potential renters to consider.
The features of Moonlight Ridge, based on the reviews, include a hot tub, satellite TV (but no internet), and pet-friendly status. One reviewer found the bed "comfy enough." However, the negative review paints a concerning picture of the cabin's condition, citing "obvious signs of dirt and grime all over the place," black stains on the mattress, sticky TV remotes, and brown residue in the fridge. These descriptions raise serious questions about the cleanliness and maintenance of the property. Another reviewer suggested the need for internal mats to wipe feet, as they resorted to using towels on the floor, indicating a potential lack of attention to detail regarding cleanliness for entryways. Additionally, one review noted that the TV was "very very small," and the water pressure in the shower was "very low" due to a water restrictor and mineral buildup on the showerhead, suggesting potential limitations in these amenities. A positive reviewer mentioned the hot tub reaching a desirable temperature and the overall seclusion and privacy as positive features.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. Local users interested in Moonlight Ridge as a "camping near me" option would need to inquire directly about pricing, availability, and any special offers. Given the stark contrast in the reported experiences, it would be prudent to ask detailed questions about the cabin's current condition, the functionality of all advertised amenities (especially the hot tub and propane), and the accuracy of the provided address. It would also be wise to inquire about the host's responsiveness to guest concerns and the procedures in place for ensuring a clean and well-maintained property.
The conflicting reviews present a complex picture for local users considering Moonlight Ridge for their "camping near me" needs. While one reviewer enjoyed their stay, highlighting the beautiful views, nice hot tub, and seclusion, another had a severely negative experience, citing significant cleanliness issues, a non-functional hot tub and propane, inaccurate address information, and a lack of host responsiveness. This disparity suggests potential inconsistencies in the cabin's upkeep and the guest experience. The mention of the need for four-wheel drive in winter is also a crucial piece of information for those considering a stay during colder months.
For local users specifically looking for a pet-friendly "camping near me" option with a hot tub and satellite TV in a secluded location, Moonlight Ridge might seem appealing based on some of the feedback. However, the serious allegations of uncleanliness and non-functional amenities in another review cannot be ignored. Potential renters should exercise caution and seek assurances regarding the current condition of the cabin and the reliability of its advertised features before making a booking. It would be beneficial to request recent photos or speak directly with the host about the issues raised in the negative review to make an informed decision.
In conclusion, Moonlight Ridge offers a "camping near me" option in South Bloomingville, OH, with the potential for beautiful views and a secluded setting. It is advertised as pet-friendly and includes a hot tub and satellite TV. However, significant concerns have been raised by at least one guest regarding the cleanliness of the cabin, the functionality of key amenities like the hot tub and propane, the accuracy of the address, and the host's responsiveness. While another reviewer reported a positive experience, the stark contrast in feedback necessitates careful consideration and thorough inquiry by local users before booking a stay at Moonlight Ridge.

Moonlight Ridge Reviews
If I could add zero stars, I would. I am not usually the one to complain nor write a review on anything at all but this one is an exception. What was supposed to be a romantic, unplugged, relaxation getaway for my fiance and our 2 dogs turned into us driving all the way back home the same day. The first problem we ran into was the address. The address the host gave us kept leading us to the wrong place (we used apple maps AND google maps). So like anyone would do we tried to google the address and found a different address than provided by the host. This was already pretty sketchy and unsettling. After driving up STEEP hills and not being able to find the cabin we attempted to call the number provided for support not once but twice and no one answered. Finally we found the right route from google (with limited service bc we were already in the hills) and ended up at our cabin. If it was just that, I would've been fine with the experience and moved on. However, when we arrived to the cabin there was obvious signs of dirt and grime all over the place. The mattress had black stains on it, the TV remotes were sticky, and the fridge had a brown stuff all over the side. The propane was completely empty even though they promised it would be full, and the hot tub was murky and absolutely disgusting. The hot tub had a cover on it and was also covered by a patio so there should be no reason for floating debris and gross water when guests are paying over $700 to stay this place.Upon further inspection the place felt unsafe, disgusting and after the host wouldn't respond to us we decided to get our dogs back in the car and head 6 hrs back home the same night. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!
Mar 10, 2024 · Abby BarrettClean, beautiful views, nice hot tub that does get up to 104 degrees. Secluded and private.Does require 4 wheel drive in winter to get up several steep hills.Bed comfy enough.Needs internal mats to wipe feet. We used towels on the floor.TV very very small and water pressure in shower very low due to water restrictor and minerals on shower head. Will bring our own tv next time.Does have satellite tv. No internet.Cell service works for ATT and Tmobile networks. We do not have Verizon so cannot speak to that.Pet friendly, but salt on steps does not appear pet safe so make sure you carry your dog inside or wash their feet after going out.We have very much enjoyed our stay.
