Paradise Lakes Family Campground Introduce
Are you on the lookout for a family-oriented and activity-filled camping destination right in your local area? Look no further than Paradise Lakes Family Campground, conveniently located at 1604 Housel Craft Rd, Bristolville, OH 44402, USA. As a prominent choice within the 'camping near me' category, Paradise Lakes Family Campground offers a wide array of amenities and a strong sense of community, making it an ideal spot for families, seasonal campers, and anyone seeking a fun and engaging outdoor experience.
A Welcoming and Family-Focused Environment
Paradise Lakes Family Campground prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere that caters especially to families. Multiple reviews highlight the friendly nature of the campground and the strong sense of community fostered by the seasonal campers. One long-term camper shared, "We have been here two years, so far it's been great and exactly what we want out of a campground. The group of seasonals have been great, plenty of families ranging all ages." This indicates a vibrant and inclusive environment where families with children of various ages can feel at home.
The seasonal campers play a significant role in shaping the campground's friendly character. Contrary to some isolated complaints, the majority sentiment is that the seasonals contribute positively to the family atmosphere. As one insightful reviewer noted, "The seasonals are what make this a family campground, most have young kids, help keep the campground clean, assist other campers with anything needed." This active participation and helpfulness of the seasonal community enhance the overall camping experience for everyone, creating a supportive and collaborative environment.
Abundance of Activities and Amenities
Paradise Lakes Family Campground offers a diverse range of activities designed to keep campers of all ages entertained. According to a satisfied guest, there is "Plenty to do including, putt-putt, volleyball, swimming, Cornhole, shuffle board, boche, etc." This impressive list suggests that boredom is unlikely, with options for both active recreation and more leisurely pastimes. Families with children will appreciate the variety of engaging activities available right within the campground.
The mention of "kids crafts" and "poker runs" in another review further underscores the campground's commitment to providing organized activities that cater to different interests and age groups. The "golf cart rides" enjoyed by the kids add a unique and fun element to the campground experience. These planned activities contribute to the strong sense of community and provide opportunities for campers to socialize and create lasting memories.
While the swimming lake is a popular feature, one reviewer expressed a desire for an upgrade to an actual concrete pool. This suggests that while the current swimming facility is appreciated, there is potential for improvement in the future. However, it does not detract from the fact that swimming is currently a key recreational offering at the campground.
The availability of a camp store is also mentioned, although one visitor noted that it was "pretty sparse" at the end of the season. This indicates that while a store is present for basic necessities and perhaps some treats, its stock may vary depending on the time of year. It's always a good idea to check with the campground regarding the store's operating hours and availability of specific items, especially if you are arriving late in the season.
Positive Management and Ongoing Improvements
Recent developments at Paradise Lakes Family Campground suggest a positive trajectory for the future. One reviewer commented, "The new GM seems to be slowly figuring things out, and the newly hired maintenance guy has already made a huge impact. 2025 should be a great season." This indicates that the management is actively working on improvements and addressing any past concerns regarding infrastructure. The positive impact of the new maintenance personnel suggests that upgrades to the campground's facilities are underway, which bodes well for future campers.
The mention of infrastructure being "due for an upgrade" suggests that while the campground currently offers a great experience, there is recognition of areas that could be enhanced. As these improvements are implemented, Paradise Lakes Family Campground is likely to become an even more desirable destination within the 'camping near me' category.
Camper Appreciation and Community Spirit
The positive spirit of the campground is further highlighted by the mention of "camper appreciation day" where free food was provided. This gesture demonstrates the campground's appreciation for its guests and reinforces the sense of community. The "happy hour on Fridays" where seasonal campers socialize also contributes to the friendly atmosphere, with the reassurance that noise levels are respectful and quiet hours are observed.
The willingness of the seasonal campers to assist others, even with tasks like moving a shed, truly exemplifies the supportive and collaborative nature of the community at Paradise Lakes Family Campground. This level of camaraderie is a significant draw for those seeking more than just a place to camp; it's about being part of a welcoming and helpful community.

Paradise Lakes Family Campground Reviews
Nice stop on our cycle tour .Staff was helpful. We arrived at the end of their season so the camp store was pretty sparse. We did arrive on camper appreciation day so there was free food awesome
Jan 06, 2025 · Andrew FrohreichWe have been here two years, so far it's been great and exactly what we want out of a campground. The group of seasonals have been great, plenty of families ranging all ages. Plenty to do including, putt-putt, volleyball, swimming, Cornhole, shuffle board, boche, etc. Would be nice if the swimming lake was upgraded to an actual concrete pool. The only real issue we have experienced was the overreach of the security officer. He left the last month of this season, and it was the best month of the year. Outside of that some of the infrastructure is due for an upgrade, once this is improved will be a 5 star review.I have seen other reviews complaining about the seasonal campers, it's mostly out of pocket. Happy hour on Fridays is when the seasonals hang out, but they are always back to their sites by quite time at 11pm, and don't cause any issues. The seasonals are what make this a family campground, most have young kids, help keep the campground clean, assist other campers with anything needed. If you need a shed moved a few feet, you will have an army show up to help you. Kids love the golf cart rides, kids crafts, poker runs etc.The new GM seems to be slowly figuring things out, and the newly hired maintenance guy has already made a huge impact. 2025 should be a great season.
Nov 25, 2024 · J BWe really enjoyed our time at Paradise Lakes. We are sad to leave but, due to the $700 increase in our seasonal site fee, the additional cost priced it out of our range. It's a shame. Our site fee in 2019 was $1700 when the campground was privately owned. For us to come back in 2025 the same site would have cost us $3200. When the campground was privately owned, each off-season we saw improvements that were a benefit to all, and the increases were reasonable. The additional fees in the past 3 years (totaling $1500) have given no improvements that were of any benefit to the seasonal campers. We had spent hundreds of dollars to improve our site, which was at first largely unusable until we purchased and spread many loads of gravel so that it wouldn't be laying in water for a good portion of the season.
Oct 29, 2024 · Randall ShafferBeautiful, quiet and secluded campground. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The tent lots are huge with trees all around that adds to the privacy. Clean areas and everywhere you look is scenic views. We are hoping to camp here again soon!
Oct 18, 2024 · Patience MarcinkoExcellent place to stay have stayed 2 weekends in a 3 week period . Plenty of free things going on to do row boating , putt-putt , shuffleboard and a lot of other games and activities. Beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings. Friendly and welcoming staff are always ready to help you with your needs . Meeting the nicest campers and share knowledge with each other. Our favorite activity was sitting around the camp fire at night thinking and talking about our day .
