Pike Lake Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Warsaw, Indiana area, Pike Lake Campground, located at 1011 Arthur St, Warsaw, IN 46580, USA, offers a convenient and well-maintained option for short stays. You can contact them at (574) 269-1439 or +1 574-269-1439 for inquiries regarding availability. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides essential amenities and a pleasant environment, particularly for those visiting the Warsaw area.
The environment of Pike Lake Campground is characterized by its proximity to Pike Lake. One reviewer mentions a "nice walking trail that goes around the edge of the lake," indicating that campers have direct access to scenic lakeside strolls. This suggests a pleasant natural setting where guests can enjoy the views and ambiance of Pike Lake. The campground itself features "level gravel sites," which are beneficial for RVers as they provide a stable and even surface for parking and setting up. The availability of "full hook ups" at these sites is also a significant advantage for RV travelers, typically including connections for electricity, water, and sewer.
In terms of services, Pike Lake Campground offers clean and well-maintained restrooms, as noted by a satisfied guest. This is a fundamental aspect of any campground and contributes significantly to the comfort and overall experience of visitors. The campground also operates on a first-come, first-served basis as they "do not take reservations." However, one reviewer shared a positive experience of calling ahead and having a site prepared for their arrival, suggesting that while formal reservations are not accepted, communication with the staff can be helpful in securing a spot, especially if you anticipate arriving at a specific time.
A notable feature of Pike Lake Campground is the lakeside walking trail, which provides an opportunity for recreation and enjoying the natural surroundings. This would be particularly appealing to those who appreciate a leisurely walk or a chance to exercise while camping. The level gravel sites with full hookups cater specifically to RV campers, making it a suitable choice for those traveling with recreational vehicles and requiring these amenities.
However, it's important to consider all aspects of the reviews. One reviewer who visited the beach area of Pike Lake noted that dogs are not allowed. Despite bringing their dog and spending several hours there without being informed of the policy, they acknowledged that their dog was likely out of place as the only one present. This indicates a potential restriction on pets in certain areas, specifically the beach. For local users who travel with pets and were considering Pike Lake primarily for its lake access, this information is crucial. The reviewer did express a desire for a designated area for dogs, highlighting that pets are often considered family members.
The nightly rate mentioned in one review was $40, which the guest considered "a bit more than what we have seen for similar type of municipal campgrounds." This suggests that while Pike Lake Campground offers good amenities and a pleasant environment, it might be priced slightly higher compared to other publicly run campgrounds in the vicinity. Local users who are budget-conscious may want to take this into account when making their decision.
Promotional information is somewhat limited in the provided reviews. The positive comments about the friendly staff, clean restrooms, level gravel sites with full hookups, and the nice walking trail serve as indirect promotion, highlighting the positive aspects of staying at Pike Lake Campground. The fact that a guest found it a "nice place to spend a few nights" and appreciated having a site ready upon arrival after a phone call also speaks to the campground's appeal and service.
However, the absence of a reservation system could be seen as both a feature and a potential drawback, depending on the traveler's preference. For those who like the flexibility of not having to book in advance, it works well, especially if they can call ahead to check availability. For others who prefer the security of a guaranteed reservation, this policy might be less appealing, particularly during peak seasons.
The information regarding the pet policy at the beach is an important detail for local users who travel with dogs. While the campground itself might be pet-friendly at the campsites (this is not explicitly stated, so it would require further inquiry), the beach area clearly has restrictions. This discrepancy is something pet owners would need to be aware of when planning their activities around Pike Lake.
In conclusion, Pike Lake Campground in Warsaw, IN, offers a convenient and well-maintained option for local users seeking "camping near me," particularly for RV travelers needing full hookups and those looking for a base to explore the Warsaw area. The clean restrooms and the lakeside walking trail are notable positives. While they do not take reservations, calling ahead for availability seems to be a viable strategy. However, the nightly rate may be slightly higher than some municipal campgrounds, and there are restrictions on dogs at the beach area. Local users should weigh these factors based on their individual needs and preferences when considering a stay at Pike Lake Campground.

Pike Lake Campground Reviews
Nice place to spend a few nights. we stayed two nights while visiting friends in the area. Friendly staff, clean restrooms and level gravel sites with full hook ups. They do not take reservations however I did call and they had a site ready for us when we arrived. There is also a nice walking trail that goes around the edge of the lake. The nightly rate id $40 which is a bit more than what we have seen for similar type of municipal campgrounds.
May 10, 2021 · SteveIt's a really nice and clean beach! I took my dog to check things out not knowing dogs aren't allowed. I drove 2 hours to get there, still spent 6 hours there and no one said anything. She was the only dog there so I guess she was a little out of place. It would be nice if they had an area for dogs since they are family too! She had a great time though...lol
Jun 11, 2021 · Tracy ShepherdI did love the hospitality of the owners... I didn't love how crowded everything looked and felt. Overall it is a great place for the price, 9/10 would recommend and visit again.
