Nice getaway for camping/glamping. This location has 3 campsite (2 on the river and 1 just off of) There is water on site. (Hand pump.) It's a mile from a local ATV trail - Clearly marked no ATV/ORV. No electricity at the site. Has two outhouses. WE Energy staff came almost daily to change trash or clean/stock outhouses. Good price. Currently apart of our top 5 list. - Chad Crowley

Pine River Flowage Boat Landing and Camp Sites (south end) Introduce

Looking for a "camping near me" experience that offers a quiet and rustic escape? Consider the Pine River Flowage Boat Landing and Camp Sites (south end), located in Florence, WI 54121, USA. You can reach them at (906) 779-2519 or +1 906-779-2519 for more information. This location provides a more secluded camping experience, ideal for those seeking tranquility in nature.

The environment at the south end of the Pine River Flowage is described as scenic, quiet, and relaxing. This location offers a unique setting with three campsites: two situated directly on the river and one just off of it. The flowage itself appears to be largely undeveloped by humans, aside from the WE Energies dam, suggesting a more natural and undisturbed landscape. For those who appreciate waterfront camping, the sites on the river provide a great opportunity to be close to the water. The surrounding area likely features the natural beauty typical of northern Wisconsin, including forests and the flowage itself.

The services at the Pine River Flowage Boat Landing and Camp Sites (south end) lean towards a more rustic camping style. Water is available on-site via a hand pump. There is no electricity at the campsites. For sanitation, the location provides two outhouses. It's noted that WE Energy staff visit almost daily to manage trash and clean/stock the outhouses, which is a positive aspect for maintaining cleanliness. Each of the campsites is equipped with its own picnic table and fire pit, enhancing the basic camping amenities.

The features of this camping area cater to those seeking a more back-to-nature experience. The presence of a boat landing allows for water access, although it's described as more of a gravel road leading to a shallow beach, requiring careful maneuvering to launch a boat. The proximity to a local ATV trail (within a mile) might be appealing to ATV enthusiasts, although it's clearly marked that ATV/ORV use is not permitted at the campsites themselves. For those seeking a quiet and secluded experience, the fact that two of the campsites are accessed via a four-mile, winding, low-maintenance road suggests a degree of isolation. The limited number of campsites (just three in total, with two being particularly secluded) contributes to the peaceful atmosphere. The flowage itself, with minimal human development, offers scenic views and a sense of natural immersion.

Based on the provided reviews, there isn't specific promotional information available. However, the positive feedback highlights the "good price" and the location being considered a "nice getaway for camping/glamping" and even listed in someone's "top 5." For local users searching for "camping near me" who value quiet, seclusion, and a rustic setting, the Pine River Flowage Boat Landing and Camp Sites (south end) appears to be a strong contender. The proximity to the river for some sites and the overall natural beauty are key selling points.

One reviewer specifically mentioned the quiet and secluded nature of two of the campsites, accessed by a longer, less-maintained road. This would be particularly appealing to those truly wanting to get away from it all. The availability of a hand pump for water and outhouses provides the essential services for a rustic experience. The presence of picnic tables and fire pits at each site adds to the convenience of basic camping. The boat launch, while perhaps not ideal for larger boats due to the shallow entry, still offers access to the flowage for boating and potentially fishing.

For local campers in the Florence, WI, area or those willing to travel a bit for a more secluded "camping near me" option, the Pine River Flowage (south end) warrants consideration. The small number of campsites suggests a less crowded environment. The riverfront locations of some sites enhance the natural appeal. The nearby ATV trails (though not for use within the campground) might be an added bonus for those interested in off-road adventures in the wider area.

When considering a stay here, be prepared for a rustic experience without electricity and with water from a hand pump. The access road to the more secluded sites is described as low maintenance, so appropriate vehicle consideration might be necessary. The lack of intense human development around the flowage promises a more immersive natural experience. If you value peace, quiet, and a riverside setting, the Pine River Flowage Boat Landing and Camp Sites (south end) could be your ideal "camping near me" destination.

In conclusion, the Pine River Flowage Boat Landing and Camp Sites (south end) near Florence, WI, offers a rustic and potentially secluded camping experience. With riverfront campsites, a hand pump for water, outhouses, and individual picnic tables and fire pits, it provides the essentials for a natural getaway. The quiet flowage and proximity to ATV trails (though not on-site) add to its appeal. For local users seeking a peaceful and less developed "camping near me" option, this location is worth exploring.
