Pocahontas Campground Reviews
A real basic campground but we enjoyed it and you can't beat $8 for a place to stay. We only paid $4 due to a senior pass. Site had a picnic table and fire ring. Campground has a pit toilet and trash receptacles but no water of any kind. A little close to the road but it wasn't highly trafficked and very little after dark.
Oct 14, 2024 · Joe PrevoGreat place to camp! It was easy to get to on out maps, the rest room was the cleanest I have seen for any campground, and the sites are well maintained. If you are looking for mini golf and sites this is not your place. If your are looking for peace and relaxation this is it! Bring a book and detox from your phone, electronics and busy life!
Aug 16, 2020 · Joel WilliamsBasic campground. Has fire pit, lantern hook and picnic table. A pit toilet and bear-safe dumpsters. Not that many spots, only 6 or so. It's right off the main road which is convenient when looking for a spot late at night, but less convenient when trying to sleep as the traffic is heard and can be seen through the trees. Also, there was lots on noise within the campground. Sites are near each other so when people came in later in the night (around midnight) or left early in the AM (2am and 4am) their packing and unpacking was loud and made it hard to sleep.
Oct 04, 2021 · Marina GoldgisserThis is basically the budget motel of camp grounds in Monongahela National Forest: small, cheap, and easily accessible from a major road (relatively speaking). The hiking trails are okay, but there's really nothing significant in terms of scenery or recreation options to recommend it. On the other hand, if you just need a place to car camp for a night while passing through, it's a satisfactory and convenient place to pull in, set up a tent, and get some sleep.
Sep 27, 2017 · Soren HarwardThis campground is located on rt 92 between marlinton wv and white Sulphur springs. It is beside a major highway but there is enough forest between campsites and highway so you have plenty privacy and no noise. From this campground you have five trout streams within a forty-five minute drive. The campground has very clean restrooms and campsites provided with fire rings with grill lantern hangers as well as picnic tables.
