Posseground Introduce
For local residents and those interested in exploring outdoor opportunities in the Batavia, Ohio area, Posseground, located at 3866-3898 Greenbriar Rd, Batavia, OH 45103, USA, presents a unique space primarily geared towards equestrian activities near East Fork Lake. If your search for "camping near me" involves a specific interest in horse riding and access to related facilities, Posseground offers features tailored to this community. However, it's important to consider all aspects of the available information to form a comprehensive understanding of what this location provides.
Based on community feedback, the environment at Posseground is particularly suited for its intended purpose as a gathering spot for horse enthusiasts. It provides designated areas to tie and feed horses, fostering a community atmosphere among riders who frequent the trails around East Fork Lake. The location serves as a convenient meeting point for individuals looking to enjoy horseback riding in the surrounding natural landscape. Additionally, Posseground features a paved path that leads down to offer views of East Fork Lake, providing an accessible way to appreciate the scenic beauty of the area.
In terms of services and features, the primary focus of Posseground appears to be on supporting equestrian activities. The provision of spaces to tie and feed horses indicates a commitment to accommodating riders and their animals. The paved path to the lake view offers a secondary amenity, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural surroundings. However, it's noted that the return walk from the lake involves an incline, which may be challenging for individuals who are not in good physical condition.
It is important to consider some of the concerns raised in the community feedback. One individual mentioned observing what appeared to be drug deals occurring in the parking lot when the area was not actively being used for equestrian gatherings. Additionally, there are reports of a transient homeless population in the general vicinity along Greenbriar Road, with firsthand accounts of them following women and children on the trails. These observations highlight potential safety considerations for visitors, emphasizing the importance of being aware of one's surroundings and practicing safety in numbers when using the area.
Another significant piece of feedback concerns the apparent lack of infrastructure for booking camp spots or contacting anyone regarding the premises. One reviewer expressed frustration at the inability to find a phone number or a website for reservations or inquiries, suggesting that it may be difficult to obtain information or secure a camping spot at Posseground. This lack of clear contact information and reservation procedures could be a significant barrier for those interested in camping at this location.
Considering the platform category of "camping near me," the information available suggests that while Posseground may offer an informal space for overnight stays in conjunction with equestrian activities, it lacks the formal infrastructure and management typically associated with established campgrounds. The absence of a listed phone number in the initial information further supports the reviewer's difficulty in contacting anyone related to the site.
Given the nature of the feedback, there is no information available regarding specific promotional offers or services beyond the basic facilities for equestrian use and the paved path to the lake view. The primary draw of Posseground seems to be its location as a meeting point for horse riders accessing the trails around East Fork Lake, rather than a fully serviced campground for general camping enthusiasts.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Posseground presents a unique case. While it caters specifically to the equestrian community with its horse-related facilities and access to trails, those seeking a traditional campground experience with clear booking procedures and comprehensive amenities may find it lacking. The reported safety concerns and the difficulty in contacting anyone associated with the location are also important factors to consider.
In conclusion, Posseground in Batavia, Ohio, serves primarily as a gathering point for horse enthusiasts looking to access the trails around East Fork Lake. It offers basic facilities for horses and a paved path to a lake view. However, potential visitors should be aware of community feedback regarding potential safety issues in the surrounding area and the apparent lack of formal management or booking infrastructure for camping. For those specifically interested in equestrian activities near East Fork Lake, Posseground may serve its intended purpose. However, individuals seeking a traditional and well-managed campground experience in the "camping near me" category may need to explore other options in the vicinity.

Posseground Reviews
I pass by here often. It's great for it's intended purpose. Places to tie your horses, feed them & hang out with fellow enthusiasts between rides on the trails around East Fork Lake. Also a paved path down to view the lake. However, if you're not in very good shape maybe skip the walk. It has an incline on the way back that may be too much for you. When people aren't gathered here for it's intended purpose I have seen what looks like drug deals going on in the parking lot. There is also a transient homeless population around that stretch of park around Greenbriar Rd. & I've heard first hand stories of them following women & kids on the trails. With anywhere you go just remember there is safety in numbers & be aware of your surroundings. Again it's a good place to go riding horses with a group of friends.
May 19, 2019 · KenLooks like a nice place if you were to actually figure out how you book a camp spot here or even talk to someone either on the phone or on premises but apparently theyre too busy to even register a phone number let alone a website to reserve a camp spot
