Potato Hills Central Campground Reviews
This place is really nice! Very picturesque location with beautiful lakeside pitches. Just outside the entrance, there is an honor system firewood sale stack. All the pitches were clean and well maintained with the pitch, a covered concrete table and bench seat, and a fire pit/ grill. The ONLY thing that might be a concern is the bathroom/ shower. It's clean, well maintained, and the water was warm.... but the BUGS! WOW! A lot of bugs which are of course attracted by the lights but still.... even I was grossed out, but my GF and teenage daughter, had they been with me, probably wouldn't have used them! That said, I look forward to coming back here again.
Apr 22, 2024 · Paul Landreth-SmithWe needed a place to rest up after a day of traveling in storms. Was met by a nice young man that greeted us and told us about the area. We had never been there and he was so helpful. It was a pretty place. We plan on going back to see more of the campground.
Apr 22, 2025 · Shari HarrisonNice, open camp areas. Level pads, lots of water access. There is a nice walk-on pier and multiple species of fish (including walleye). They have horse camping with trails and several camp sites with horse stalls. Be warned, tho, the bathrooms have regular sinks and toilets but no water. They don't flush and were FULL of poop.
May 22, 2022 · Amanda Elaine StandiferGreat campsites scatterred over 4 loops. You can be near the water or in the trees. They have a trail connecting thos campground to Potato Hills South camping.
Sep 17, 2024 · GregWe had such a wonderful camping experience at Potato Hills Campground. It was especially beautiful being Fall. So many colorful trees. Perfect view of the sunset over the lake. :-) Too chilly to swim but there is a nice beach area with a restroom, pavilion and playground. Potato Hills North is a nice area to fish off of an old bridge. Good fishing at The Narrows also. The campsites had concrete picnic tables, BBQ grills as well as firepits. Restrooms are well maintained. Looking forward to going back in the Spring. ;-)
