Jorgens Hollow Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a peaceful and nature-oriented "camping near me" experience, Jorgens Hollow Campground offers a name that evokes a sense of tranquility and natural seclusion. The term "hollow" often suggests a sheltered, low-lying area, potentially surrounded by natural features like trees or gentle slopes. While specific details about the campground are not provided in the prompt, the name itself allows for some informed assumptions about its environment, likely services, and potential features, catering to those who appreciate a quieter camping experience.
The environment of Jorgens Hollow Campground is likely to be characterized by a natural setting, possibly nestled within a wooded area or a small valley (the "hollow" itself). This could mean campers can expect shade from trees, a more intimate feel to the campsites, and the sounds of nature as the dominant backdrop. Depending on its location (which is not specified), the surrounding area might offer opportunities for hiking, nature walks, and observing local wildlife. The secluded nature implied by the name could also mean a greater sense of privacy and a more immersive experience in the outdoors compared to larger, more open campgrounds.
In terms of services, Jorgens Hollow Campground is likely to offer essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay while maintaining a focus on the natural experience. Based on typical offerings of campgrounds that emphasize a quieter, more natural setting, potential services could include:
- Designated Campsites: Individual sites for tents and possibly RVs, though the "hollow" designation might suggest more tent-friendly or smaller RV sites.
- Fire Rings or Grills: Provisions for safe campfires and outdoor cooking are a common feature in campgrounds.
- Picnic Tables: A standard amenity for outdoor dining and camp activities at each site.
- Potable Water Access: Access to drinking water, likely from shared spigots located throughout the campground.
- Vault Toilets: In more nature-focused campgrounds, non-flush, pit-style toilets are often the standard.
- Waste Disposal: Designated areas for disposing of trash to maintain the cleanliness of the campground.
Services that might be less emphasized or potentially absent at Jorgens Hollow Campground, given the implication of a more natural and secluded setting, could include:
- Full RV Hookups: While some RV sites might have basic electrical and water hookups, full sewer hookups might be less common.
- Wi-Fi Access: A campground focused on a natural and tranquil experience might not prioritize or offer Wi-Fi.
- Laundry Facilities: These are more common in larger, more amenity-rich campgrounds.
- Organized Recreational Activities: The focus is likely to be on self-directed enjoyment of the natural surroundings rather than structured events.
- Swimming Pools or Clubhouses: These types of amenities are less likely in a campground prioritizing a natural and quiet atmosphere.
The primary feature of Jorgens Hollow Campground, suggested by its name, is its potential for providing a tranquil and secluded camping experience. The "hollow" designation implies a setting that is somewhat set apart, offering a sense of peace and quiet that can be highly appealing to those looking to escape the noise and crowds of more developed areas. This could make it an ideal destination for families seeking a more relaxed camping trip or individuals looking for a peaceful retreat in nature.
Other potential features that might align with the name and likely atmosphere of Jorgens Hollow Campground could include:
- Nature Trails: The surrounding area might offer trails for hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the "hollow" and its vicinity.
- Wildlife Observation Opportunities: A more secluded natural setting often provides chances to see local wildlife.
- Stargazing: Away from bright city lights, a "hollow" location might offer excellent views of the night sky.
- Emphasis on Quiet Hours: A campground focused on tranquility would likely enforce quiet hours to ensure a peaceful environment for all campers.

Jorgens Hollow Campground Reviews
Just an overnight when I couldn't find dispersed camping (Google nav tried to take me through private property). Campground filledup on a Sept Friday evening. Horses allowed here so quite a few flies, some of which accompanied me well into Montana. There was a wild turkey family roosting in the trees.
Sep 30, 2024 · Clark MorrisonBeautiful surrounds. Well kept camp site with potable water and toilets , which are also wheelchair accessible. Walked a short trail after arriving. 1.5 miles in pristine grassland. Stunning really. Spacious campsite amoungst the trees (RV site, but not crowded.) The wind was blowing from Canada and it went to 45 degrees last night. I actually was plenty warm. Tonight is a different story. It's 50 for a high today, with a freeze warning in effect for overnight. Since I have Fargo friends, well I'm leaving a day early. 😊It's a great place. Lots of birdsong, Baltimore Oriole, Whippoorwill, and even Turkey calls this morning. Quite a magical spot.
May 27, 2021 · Jeffrey CurrierVery nice campground in the National Grasslands. Very clean. No fee at the moment I believe is due to the covid-19. Shady spots but solar friendly. Fresh potable water from hand pump. Two clean vault toilets. 4 mile walking trail that circles the campground. Mountain biking on said trails also. Many chipmunks running around for entertainment. Cows roaming outside fence line. Stayed 4 days and loved it.
Jul 08, 2020 · TerryIf you didn't know you can disperse camp in a national grassland. Jorgens hollow is a campground and it's not very isolated but you do feel isolated when you're on property. The park ranger was fantastic very informative the bathrooms were amazingly clean.
Aug 15, 2022 · DON CROYLEBE AWARE: To get to Jorgens Hollow rustic campground you have a minimum of six miles of dusty WASHBOARD gravel road to get there.* Within the Sheyenne National Grasslands, Jorgens is nestled in a grove of cottonwood trees. It is a primitive/rustic quiet, serene, clean, (CARRY IN - CARRY OUT) camping area. The water at the hand water pump is excellent, tasteless and cold. The 14 sites are reasonably level and several offer shade. Picnic tables are concrete and there is a steel ring fire pit. Bring your own approved firewood.* Fee: $10 per day/night, a Heck of a Deal.* June 2024 UPDATE: Maintenance of the campground sites is still fairly good overall. The part time campground caretaker has only so much time for mowing of the campground and the Oak Leaf Trail, so mowing can be spotty. He keeps the two concrete outhouses stocked with TP and clean the best he can. THANK YOU!* You'll find chipmunks and ground squirrels scampering about. They'll leave you alone if not fed. Lots of chirping/tweeting birds, and the occasional lowing of cattle (outside the campground area) to entertain.* BE AWARE: Skeets, Flies and No-See-Ums populations vary depending on the season. Suggestions: Got GOOD bug dope? Maybe even a fogger? Bring them, and use them for a more pleasant LESS ITCHY stay at this little piece of serenity.* A wet 2024 spring has made the "pot holes" in the campground perimeter road worse than ever, but the road is still very passible. HOPEFULLY, some year, Jorgens BUDGET will allow MUCH NEEDED Road Maintenance, as it's been 10 years since Jorgens was last updated and improved.* Enjoy Jorgens terrific 4 mile Oak Leaf Trail that winds in and out of woods and prairie, or walk/hike a portion of the NCT aka North Country National Scenic Trail that passes through the area.* On clear nights, Jorgen's can be a terrific place for satellite watching due to DARK SKIES.****** FOLKS WHO USE GENERATORS 10+ hours a day: PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE leave serenity alone and go a mile down the road to the beautiful Sheyenne Oaks Campground and plug in. THANK YOU!
