PSEA Camp DeSabla Introduce
For local residents in the Magalia, California (zip code 95954) area, particularly those seeking a long-standing family camping tradition or "camping near me" with some level of accessibility, PSEA Camp DeSabla, located at Lake De Sabla, presents an interesting option. Based on recent customer reviews, this location offers a beautiful natural setting and has been a cherished destination for families for over four decades. However, there is also a recent concern raised regarding cleanliness and the presence of pests within the accommodations.
One heartfelt review highlights the deep-rooted connection many families have with PSEA Camp DeSabla. The reviewer mentions that their family has been coming to this camp for "more than 40 years," emphasizing its history as a recurring vacation spot for multiple generations. They describe it as a "once a year adventure into nature" that is consistently "safe and fun for the entire family." This speaks volumes about the welcoming and secure environment that PSEA Camp DeSabla has cultivated over the years, making it a place where families feel comfortable returning annually to create lasting memories in the outdoors.
Furthermore, this long-time visitor specifically addresses the accessibility of the camp. They note that the location is "handicap accessible for a walker or cane." This is a significant feature for individuals with mild mobility challenges, suggesting that the pathways and general layout of the camp accommodate those who require walking aids. This inclusivity can be a major draw for local users who may have family members or friends with such needs, allowing them to participate comfortably in the camping experience.
However, the reviewer also provides a crucial caveat regarding wheelchair accessibility. They state that while it's accessible for walkers or canes, it is "not recommended for wheelchair unless you've got a strong helper to push you up a steep hill." This indicates that while some areas of the camp may be navigable with a wheelchair, there are significant inclines that would require substantial assistance. Therefore, local users who rely on wheelchairs should be aware of this limitation and potentially inquire about the specific terrain of their intended campsite or activity areas before planning a visit.
In contrast to the positive long-term family experience, another recent review raises a concern about the cleanliness and potential presence of pests within the accommodations. This reviewer simply states, "It was beautiful place but it has mouse in the rooms need to clean and Spraying." This is a significant issue that potential visitors should take into account. The presence of mice suggests a need for improved cleaning protocols and pest control measures within the camp's lodging facilities. While the beauty of the location is acknowledged, the presence of pests can detract from the comfort and hygiene of the stay, potentially impacting the overall experience, especially for those staying in cabins or other enclosed structures.
Considering these two reviews together, PSEA Camp DeSabla appears to be a beautiful natural location with a long history of providing safe and fun family camping experiences. Its accessibility for individuals using walkers or canes is a notable advantage. However, the recent report of mice in the rooms is a serious concern that needs to be addressed by the management to ensure a comfortable and hygienic environment for all guests. Potential local users should be aware of this issue and perhaps inquire about the camp's response to this concern before making a booking.
Given the location at Lake De Sabla in Magalia, CA, local users can likely expect an environment characterized by the natural beauty of a lakeside setting. This could include opportunities for enjoying the lake, such as swimming, fishing, or boating (though the availability of these activities would need to be confirmed). The surrounding area of Magalia is known for its forests and scenic landscapes, suggesting that PSEA Camp DeSabla is likely situated in a wooded area, providing shade and a connection with nature. The specific types of trees and the terrain would contribute to the overall ambiance of the campground.
Without further information, it is difficult to detail the specific services and features offered at PSEA Camp DeSabla. However, based on its nature as a camp that has hosted families for many years, it likely provides basic amenities such as campsites or cabins, restroom facilities, and possibly common areas for gathering or activities. The mention of accessibility for walkers and canes suggests that pathways and some facilities are designed with mobility in mind. The presence of Lake De Sabla itself is a significant feature, potentially offering water-related recreation.
There is no promotional information provided in the reviews. To learn about any special offers, seasonal rates, or specific programs available at PSEA Camp DeSabla, local users would need to contact the camp directly. This could be done by searching for their contact information online or through local community resources.
In conclusion, PSEA Camp DeSabla near Lake De Sabla in Magalia, CA, appears to be a cherished family camping destination with a beautiful natural setting and a history of providing safe and fun experiences for over 40 years. Its accessibility for individuals using walkers or canes is a significant positive. However, a recent report of mice in the rooms raises concerns about cleanliness and pest control that potential visitors should be aware of. Local users considering "camping near me" at PSEA Camp DeSabla should weigh the positive aspects of its tradition and accessibility against the reported pest issue and perhaps seek clarification from the camp management before making a reservation. The lakeside location likely offers opportunities for enjoying water-based activities and the natural beauty of the Magalia area.

Jun 13, 2023 · Donna DayAnd you can almost see Pulga from here! Campground should be sold and returned to the community......There is some money for infrastructure! @#$%Seriously, how could a someone from PGE camp and relax anywhere close to the Ridge. Great "public service". Profits before safety for decades. Many should be jailed, not camping in an exclusive campground.
