Based on recent feedback from campers, Lime Saddle Campground offers a generally positive experience, although with a few points to note. One camper appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and reported that while one of the showers was out of order, the other provided warm water with adequate pressure. They also mentioned that some parking spots were not perfectly level but enjoyed having the campground largely to themselves for two nights, suggesting potentially lower occupancy during their visit.
Another camper highlighted some of the campground's amenities, specifically mentioning the nice concrete tables and steel fire rings available at each spot. They also noted that every spot had a level tent pad, which is a significant convenience for tent campers ensuring a more comfortable setup.
A recurring theme in the reviews is the functionality of the showers. One camper explicitly stated that if all the showers had been working, they would have rated the campground five stars, underscoring the importance of this amenity to their overall experience.
In terms of the atmosphere, Lime Saddle Campground is described as "quiet, serene, and of course family friendly." One reviewer did mention a brief "commotion" due to arguing campers, but they were relieved that it did not last long. This suggests that while generally peaceful, occasional disturbances can occur, as might be expected in any public campground.
One camper provided specific feedback about the layout of the campsites. They stayed in space 2 and advised that spaces 2 through 8 are uphill from the restrooms and showers, requiring a noticeable walk, especially the return trip uphill. They also mentioned that the restrooms were cleaned daily. This reviewer expressed a preference for Bidwell Campgrounds for their next visit and noted that Lime Saddle Campground did not offer much shade.
Combining these reviews, we can paint a picture of Lime Saddle Campground's environment, services, and features:
- Environment: Generally quiet and serene, described as family-friendly. The terrain in some areas, particularly spaces 2-8, is uphill from the facilities. Shade appears to be limited in some or all campsites.
- Services: Clean bathrooms with at least one working warm shower with good pressure. Restrooms are cleaned daily. The staff's responsiveness or presence isn't explicitly mentioned, but the overall functionality of the provided facilities is commented on.
- Features: Each campsite is equipped with nice concrete tables and steel fire rings. There is a level tent pad at every spot, which is beneficial for tent campers. Parking spots may not all be perfectly level.
For local users looking for "camping near me" in the Oroville area, Lime Saddle Campground offers a seemingly peaceful and adequately equipped option. The presence of level tent pads and individual fire rings and tables at each site are definite advantages. The cleanliness of the restrooms is also a positive aspect. However, potential campers should be aware that shower availability might sometimes be limited, and some campsites involve an uphill walk to the restrooms. The lack of significant shade might also be a consideration depending on the time of year.
The fact that one camper experienced the campground with low occupancy ("had the place to myself for 2 nights") could be appealing to those seeking a more secluded experience, although this might not always be the case.
To get a more complete understanding of Lime Saddle Campground, local users might want to inquire about:
- The current status of all shower facilities.
- The levelness of specific campsites if that is a concern.
- The availability of shade at different campsites.
- Any specific amenities offered beyond what is mentioned in the reviews (e.g., water spigots, dump stations if it accommodates RVs, though it's primarily reviewed by tent campers).
- The general layout of the campground to understand the distance to facilities from different sites.
In conclusion, Lime Saddle Campground near Oroville, CA, appears to be a quiet and family-friendly option with clean bathrooms, level tent pads, concrete tables, and fire rings at each site. While there have been minor issues reported, such as a non-working shower and some uneven parking, the overall sentiment suggests a pleasant camping experience, particularly for those valuing a serene environment. Campers should consider the potential uphill walk from some sites to the facilities and the limited shade mentioned in one review when making their decision. For those searching for "camping near me" with these features, Lime Saddle Campground is worth considering.

Bathrooms were clean. One of the showers didn't work but the other one was warm and had adequate pressure. Some of the parking spots were not very level but I had the place to myself for 2 nights.Nice concrete tables and steel fire rings, every spot had a level tent pad.If all the showers worked I would have given it 5*
Jan 06, 2025 · YogiThis place is quiet, serene and of course family friendly. There was a little commotion between campers arguing but it didn't last long (good thing). We stayed in space 2 and let me tell you anywhere from space 2 to 8 you're uphill and you're going to have a distance for the restrooms/showers, coming back up that hill to your space is a workout! I prefer Bidwell Campgrounds for next time! Restrooms cleaned daily as well. Not much shade
Jul 07, 2022 · Jessica KNice campground. Bring plenty of leveling blocks, grading engineer / contractor that designed this hilltopcampground didn't do a very good job on sites; they are steep and off camber. Other than sites being steeper than standard drainage, the campground is well cared for and in a beautiful setting.
Sep 15, 2024 · Ron KoptisAwesome sites some with very nice spacing between them. 16 electric/water sites plus many more no service sites. Very quiet in mid March. Turkeys gobbling every day. Clean restrooms and pay showers using tokens only... bummer, as you have to purchase more than you may use. No access to water. Even boat ramp is high and dry. Oh, also camping sites were not burned in fires, but boat ramp 1/2 mile away was.
Mar 20, 2022 · Bruce KesslerNice quite campground. Each camping spot has a picnic table and a fire pit. The spots are spacious and the bathrooms a very clean. No lake access from the actual campground.
