Ranger Creek Campground Introduce
Looking for a camping getaway near you in the Port Angeles, Washington area? Ranger Creek Campground, located at 58644 WA-112, Port Angeles, WA 98363, USA, offers a potentially beautiful and well-equipped camping experience for local users. As a part of the 'camping near me' category, Ranger Creek seems to provide a blend of natural charm and thoughtful amenities, based on the available customer reviews.
The environment of Ranger Creek Campground is described by one reviewer as having "non existent" grass, which they surprisingly liked, comparing it to a familiar setting. While this suggests a more open, perhaps earth-grounded feel rather than lush greenery in the camping areas, it didn't detract from their positive experience. Another reviewer simply stated "Beautiful site," indicating an appealing overall setting. The campground is noted to have "limited space," which, according to one visitor, is part of its beauty, possibly implying a more intimate and less sprawling feel compared to larger campgrounds. Despite the limited overall area, the campsites themselves are reported to have a "good amount of space separation" between them, offering a degree of privacy for each group.
In terms of services and features, Ranger Creek Campground appears to offer several notable conveniences. One reviewer mentioned "firewood ready to go," suggesting that firewood is available for purchase or provided at the campground, making campfires easier to enjoy. Additionally, "lawn chairs around the pit" were noted as a "nice touch," indicating that some campsites are equipped with seating around the fire areas, enhancing comfort and socializing. Water is available, described as "hose water," so it's functional, though perhaps not from a dedicated spigot at each site. The presence of "hand sanitizer in the outhouse" is also highlighted, indicating attention to hygiene in the restroom facilities.
A significant feature mentioned by one of the reviewers is that "The campfire pits are beautifully built and include a good sized grill incorporated for cooking convenience around the fire." This suggests that each campsite (or at least the group sites referred to by this reviewer) has a well-designed fire pit with an integrated grill, making cooking over the fire a convenient option for campers. This is a valuable amenity for those who enjoy outdoor cooking.
The location of Ranger Creek Campground is also noted as "good," suggesting easy access to the surrounding area and potentially to attractions around Port Angeles. One reviewer wished they had more time to explore Port Angeles, indicating that the campground is a suitable base for visiting the town and its surroundings. Given its address on WA-112, it's likely within reasonable proximity to the Olympic National Park and the scenic beauty of the Olympic Peninsula, which is a major draw for visitors to this region.
One reviewer mentioned a price of "$45 may be a little steep," suggesting a potential cost consideration for some. However, they quickly followed this by humorously noting the unexpected discovery of a Hot Wheels car, which added to their positive experience. This implies that while the price might be perceived as slightly high, the overall quality of the campground and the experience it offers were still worthwhile.
Promotional aspects can be gleaned from the positive feedback. The description of a "Beautiful site" with "a lot of space separation" promotes the aesthetic and privacy aspects. The "beautifully built" campfire pits with grills highlight the thoughtful amenities provided. The mention of "firewood ready to go" and "lawn chairs around the pit" further adds to the appeal of convenience and comfort. The "good location" also serves as a promotion for those wanting to explore Port Angeles and the surrounding natural attractions.
To summarize the environment, services, and features of Ranger Creek Campground for local users:
- A "Beautiful site" with "limited space" overall but a "good amount of space separation" between campsites, offering a sense of privacy.
- Well-built campfire pits with "a good sized grill incorporated" for cooking.
- Availability of firewood ready to go.
- Lawn chairs provided around the fire pits at some sites.
- Water available (hose water).
- Outhouses with hand sanitizer.
- A "good location" for exploring Port Angeles and the surrounding areas, likely including access to the Olympic Peninsula's attractions.
While one reviewer found the price of $45 potentially a bit high, the positive comments about the site's beauty, the spacing between campsites, the quality of the campfire pits with grills, and the overall good experience suggest that Ranger Creek Campground offers a worthwhile stay for those in the 'camping near me' category looking for a well-equipped and conveniently located base to enjoy the natural wonders of the Port Angeles area. If you value well-maintained facilities, privacy at your campsite, and the convenience of a built-in grill for camp cooking, Ranger Creek Campground could be an excellent choice for your next local camping adventure. We recommend checking current pricing and availability when planning your trip.

Ranger Creek Campground Reviews
Pretty fine. Found a pretty cool hot wheels car there. It was blue and green and rolled super nice. To the kid that lost it you just made this adult more of a child than he already was. Grass was non existent but I liked it. Reminded me of my grandmas front lawn that she could never water because of the arthritis in her back. We used to play stick the dog on it.. super fun. The water was hose water so if you don’t mind that then you’re set. Maybe you could water the grass with it. There was firewood ready to go and lawn chairs around the pit which was a nice touch. I also personally appreciated the hand sanitizer in the outhouse. There was a good amount of space between the campsites despite the area being pretty open. Good location and a good experience overall. 45 may be a little steep but with a free hot wheels who’s complaining? (Left the hot wheels behind in case anyone was wondering. Hope you find your car bro.)
Jul 20, 2023 · Abram SchillingBeautiful site. Limited space but that's the beauty of it!!! Each group site has a lot of space seperation. The campfire pits are beautifully built and include a good sized grill incorporated for cooking convenience around the fire. Wish we had time to stay longer and explore Port Angeles more. We'll be back!
Jul 03, 2023 · Alexa Grondin4 separate camping spots. Tree shield us from the road. Fire pits in all spots, garbage cans, chairs, & a table. Outhouse easily accessible right in the middle of the 4 spots, firewood ready. The owners are geat people!! $70/vehicle/per 24hrs. Beautiful!!
May 21, 2023 · Samantha Valenzuela (Too Down)Easy to book and easy to find. Very close to town, which for us is great! We loved the location. The campgrounds are in a large field, but there is a tree line offering some privacy. It is close to the hwy, but the noise didn’t bother us any. We would stay here again.
Aug 04, 2022 · Becca MOnly stayed one night. Nice space - big lawn, fire rings, tables and folding chairs. No real road noise. It was too cold for bugs so I cannot comment. Outhouse works. Hose (only water source) was off. My daughter texted and it was turned on sometime in the night (it was spraying in the morning). I don't have a phone so I guess I would have to find the owner in the morning. Showered at a gym in town.
