Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Eureka, California area, Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort, located at 4050 US-101, Eureka, CA 95503, with phone numbers (707) 798-1820 and +1 707-798-1820, appears to be an option. However, it is crucial for potential visitors to be aware of recent customer feedback which raises significant concerns about the condition, safety, and management of this facility. An objective introduction based on the provided reviews necessitates a thorough examination of these issues to ensure local users have a realistic understanding before considering a stay here.
Several reviewers have expressed strong dissatisfaction with their experiences at Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort, indicating a considerable discrepancy between expectations (potentially set by online pictures) and the reality of the campground. One customer recounted paying for a cabin for a night but ultimately sleeping in their car due to the cabin's poor condition. The cabin was described as "dirty" and emitting a "musty" smell that made the reviewer feel unsafe staying inside. This immediately suggests significant cleanliness issues that prospective guests should be aware of.
Adding to the unpleasant environment, the same reviewer noted the presence of a neighboring business with "a bunch of chickens and ducks crammed together in dog kennels" directly outside their cabin window. This situation was cited as a potential contributor to the foul odor. Furthermore, a "huge open trailer full of trash" was observed on the grounds, directly across from the cabin, with a noticeable smell. These details paint a picture of a poorly maintained and potentially unsanitary environment surrounding the guest accommodations.
The general upkeep of the grounds also came under criticism, with complaints of "overgrown" grass and inadequate lighting at night, making it difficult to navigate to the bathroom. The lack of hot water for handwashing in the bathroom was another significant inconvenience reported. These issues suggest a lack of attention to basic maintenance and guest comfort within the resort.
Perhaps most concerning is the reported absence of staff. The reviewer stated, "not a single staff member in sight! Never saw a single person in or around the office our entire stay and didn't talk to anyone." This lack of on-site management raises questions about responsiveness to guest issues and overall security. The inability to contact staff to address the cleanliness or other problems encountered is a serious drawback.
Another reviewer echoed the sentiment of a negative experience, explicitly stating that the "location is horrible and in a very unsafe area of Eureka." This is a critical safety concern for local users searching "camping near me," as the surrounding environment can significantly impact the overall camping experience and peace of mind. The reviewer further described the "men and women diets and restrooms in general" as "disgusting" and resembling "public restrooms," which starkly contrasts with the expectations of a paid accommodation. This reinforces the concerns about cleanliness and maintenance.
The presence of a "longterm area of the park where it looks like people live guiltiness full time" was also noted. While long-term residents are not inherently problematic, the reviewer associated this area with negative aspects such as "loud" people and vehicles moving throughout the night, potentially disrupting the peace and quiet that campers typically seek. Overflowing receptacle bins and trash scattered throughout the park further contributed to the negative impression of the grounds' maintenance and overall cleanliness.
Despite acknowledging that the "cabins are cute from the outside," this reviewer detailed significant interior issues, including "thin" mattresses, "cobwebs in every corner," and a persistent smell of "old stale cigarette smoke." These interior conditions directly impact the comfort and hygiene of the accommodations. The repeated issue of the office being "never open to discuss issues" underscores the problem of absent or unavailable staff.
A third reviewer's feedback was even more direct and damning, advising others not to be "fooled by the charm of the outside of the cabins" and regretting not having read reviews prior to booking. Their concluding statement, "Needs to be shut down and condemned," is an extreme expression of dissatisfaction and highlights the severity of the issues encountered.
Based on these consistent negative reviews, local users searching for "camping near me" should be extremely cautious when considering Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort. The reported issues span cleanliness, safety of the location, maintenance of the grounds and facilities, and a significant lack of on-site staff to address concerns. While the exterior appearance of the cabins might be appealing, the interior conditions and the overall environment seem to fall far short of acceptable standards for a paid accommodation.
Considering the platform category "camping near me," users are likely looking for a safe, clean, and reasonably maintained place to stay while enjoying the local area. The feedback for Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort strongly suggests that it may not meet these expectations based on the experiences of recent guests. The potential for a musty, dirty cabin, a noisy and possibly unsafe environment, and the lack of staff support are significant deterrents.
For promotional purposes, it would be difficult to recommend this resort to local users based on the overwhelmingly negative recent feedback. Any attempt to highlight the "cute" exterior of the cabins would be immediately contradicted by the serious concerns raised about the interior, cleanliness, safety, and management. It would be unethical to present this resort without prominently acknowledging the significant issues reported by multiple guests.
Instead of focusing on promotion, the objective information strongly suggests that local users searching for "camping near me" in Eureka should likely explore alternative options that have received more positive and consistent feedback regarding cleanliness, safety, maintenance, and customer service. The numerous red flags raised in these reviews indicate a high risk of a negative experience at Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort.
In conclusion, while Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort near Eureka might appear as a potential option for "camping near me," recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture. Issues with cabin cleanliness, unpleasant smells, a potentially unsafe location, poorly maintained grounds, inadequate lighting, lack of hot water, and a complete absence of staff are recurring themes. The stark contrast between the exterior appearance and the reported interior conditions, coupled with serious concerns about the overall environment and management, should give local users significant pause before booking a stay at this facility. It is strongly recommended to seek alternative campgrounds or RV parks in the Eureka area that have a more positive and reliable track record based on recent customer experiences.

Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort Reviews
This place is nothing like what the pictures show. We paid for one night and we slept in our car because our cabin was dirty and smelled so musty I didn't feel safe sleeping in the room. Directly out our cabin window were a bunch of chickens and ducks crammed together in dog kennels at the neighboring business, which may have contributed to the smell. Or maybe it was the huge open trailer full of trash right across from our cabin on the grounds that you can clearly smell as well. The grounds are poorly maintained, the grass is overgrown, there is almost no light to find your way to the bathroom at night, only cold water to wash your hands with, I could go on. Oh, and not a single staff member in sight! Never saw a single person in or around the office our entire stay and didn't talk to anyone. I've never had an experience like this. Won't be back and won't recommend.
Mar 27, 2025 · Alyssa BroadheadLocation is horrible and in a very unsafe area of Eureka. Both men and women diets and restrooms in general were disgusting and looked like public restrooms. Not something I expected I was paying for. There's the longterm area of the park where it looks like people live guiltiness full time. People were loud, vehicles coming and going all through the night from one residence, receptacle bins were overflowing, trash on the ground throughout the park, cabins are cute from the outside, but mattress were thin, cobwebs in every corner of the cabin, office was never open to discuss issues, and to top it off our cabin smelled of old stale cigarette smoke.Don't be fooled by the charm of the outside of the cabins. I should have read the reviews of this place before booking. Needs to be shut down and condemned.
Feb 19, 2025 · Kate NelsonWonderful cabin stay while travelling! We arrived and cabin heater was on and cabin had sheets and bedding, very clean and welcoming after a long drive. Bathrooms and showers and clean and heated. It was raining and end of October so staying in a cabin was a great option as we had been camping previously. Thanks for a great stay we will visit again!
Nov 05, 2024 · IronVegan RMTThe entire tent/ 30ft 30amp hookup side was empty, entire large RV side was full on a Friday in early December. Staff are great and checked me in late. The 30ft van sites are not exactly level but close enough if you have a couple leveling blocks or just pick the right one and go back and forth till it sits right. Laundry is affordable and showers stay hot forever. Bathroom is very clean. I normally boondock but there’s nothing good around here and I needed a shower laundry water and to charge my battery bank. AND this place is affordable and has VAN accommodations. Nobody wants to pay $60 for a full hookup just to park a van and take a shower, other places should take note!!!
Dec 06, 2024 · Thomas MaerzWould not share details of how to make trailer work for their park? I work full time and have a great credit score! Just because my trailer needs a little work they won’t give me a place to stay. Thanks happy new year. I’ll just look for another place tried calling to ask if i could fix it won’t answer my calls :[
