Reed Bingham State Park - Campground Introduce
For local residents in the Adel, Georgia area searching for the ideal "camping near me" experience, look no further than Reed Bingham State Park Campground. Located at Co Rd 258, Adel, GA 31620, this beautiful state park offers a wide array of features and amenities that cater to various camping preferences, whether you're an RV enthusiast, a family seeking outdoor fun, or simply someone looking to reconnect with nature.
Based on enthusiastic reviews from fellow campers, Reed Bingham State Park Campground stands out as a "great state park" that beckons visitors to return time and again. One recurring highlight is the sheer size of both the park and the individual camping sites. Campers have noted that the sites are "large," providing ample space for setting up your camp, whether you're in a tent or a recreational vehicle. This spaciousness contributes to a more comfortable and less crowded camping experience, allowing you to truly relax and enjoy your surroundings.
A significant advantage for RV campers is that "most have full hook up," as mentioned by a satisfied visitor. Full hookups typically include connections for electricity, water, and sewer, offering a level of convenience that can greatly enhance an RV camping trip. This feature allows for a more seamless and comfortable stay, particularly for longer durations. However, one camper did mention a minor challenge with the "black tank connection" on their site due to the angle, suggesting that an adapter might be useful for some RV setups. This is a valuable piece of practical advice for future visitors to keep in mind.
The natural environment of Reed Bingham State Park Campground is another major draw. The presence of "lots of shaded sites" is a significant benefit, especially during the warmer months in Georgia. Shaded campsites provide relief from the sun, helping to keep your tent or RV cooler and making your outdoor relaxation more enjoyable. Additionally, the park boasts "some great shaded hiking trails," perfect for exploring the natural beauty of the area while staying protected from direct sunlight. These trails offer opportunities for leisurely strolls and more invigorating hikes, catering to different fitness levels and interests.
For those who enjoy water activities, Reed Bingham State Park offers "full access to the water and launching ramps" for boats. This is a fantastic feature for campers who like to bring their boats for fishing, waterskiing, or simply cruising on the lake. The easy access to the water enhances the recreational opportunities within the park, making it a versatile destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The reviews also mention "nice sunsets" that can be enjoyed while at the lake, adding a touch of scenic beauty to your camping experience.
The upkeep of the campground is clearly a priority, as one reviewer noted that the "campground grounds are kept pristine." This attention to cleanliness and maintenance contributes significantly to the overall positive experience of staying at Reed Bingham State Park Campground. Well-maintained grounds create a more pleasant and inviting atmosphere for all visitors.
For anglers, it's important to be aware that "Game Wardens are very present at this park," as one camper pointed out. This highlights the park's commitment to enforcing regulations and protecting its natural resources. Campers are advised to "grab your fishing license online" before their visit to ensure compliance and avoid any potential issues.
Beyond the natural beauty and essential amenities, Reed Bingham State Park Campground offers a range of recreational facilities for all ages. Families with children will appreciate the "nice playground," providing a safe and fun space for kids to burn off energy. For those looking for more active pursuits, there's an "outdoor gym" available. Additionally, the park features a "mini golf" course, offering a fun and engaging activity for the whole family. Campers are reminded to "bring a putter and golf ball," although it's also mentioned that the "office might have some" available for rent or borrowing, so it's worth inquiring upon check-in.
For those who enjoy team sports or casual outdoor games, the park offers a "volleyball" court and a "flat grass area to play catch or football." These amenities provide opportunities for friendly competition and outdoor recreation, enhancing the overall camping experience.
While the campground itself offers a serene environment, convenience is also within reach. One reviewer mentioned that "shopping is close by" and that "there are some nice restaurants near Publix." This proximity to local amenities allows campers to easily access groceries, supplies, or dining options if needed, providing a balance between the tranquility of nature and the convenience of nearby services.
Based on the consistently positive feedback, Reed Bingham State Park Campground appears to be a "peaceful, well managed campsite" that offers a high-quality "camping near me" experience for local residents. Reed Bingham State Park - Campground Reviews
Found this beautiful state park in October 2023 and now here we are again in April 2024. Such a great state park. Camping sites are large as is the park itself and most have full hook up which is always a bonus. Lots of shaded sites and some great shaded hiking trails. Full access to the water and launching ramps in the park if you bring your boat. Campground grounds are kept pristine. Don’t forget to grab your fishing license online as Game Wardens are very present at this park.
Apr 16, 2024 · Donna B.Peaceful, well managed campsite. Site offers full hook ups. The black tank connection was a little tricky due to angle, but we made it work, we might need an adaptor next time we come, toMake it easier. Enjoyed amenities and kids enjoyed some light hiking, a taking scooter around park. Watched some nice sunsets and while at the lake. There is volleyball, flat grass area to play catch pr football, a nice playground, outdoor gym, and mini golf. Need to bring a putter and golf ball or we heard from other campers that office might have some, so ask when you check in, if that is an activity you might enjoy. Shopping is close by there are some nice restaurants near Publix.
Aug 06, 2023 · Alma MWe come here every year. They are currently building a new bathhouse in the first loop. They have also put in full hookups in some sites, not sure how many. There is a Putt Putt & kayak rental. You can fish in the lake or at the bottom of the dam. Very quiet State Park.
Oct 19, 2023 · Christa StarlingReed Bingham State Park is a nice place to stay overnight. The campground sites are pull through and provide a mostly flat surface to park. From our site we could easily see nearby sites. The bathhouses were extraordinarily clean and nice for a campground. Took us a while to leave due to lack of directional signs in the two loops, but we finally made it out 😥
Jun 15, 2022 · Elizabeth ChurchOur first time camping with our new camper. We evacuated from Hurricane Idalia. Very glad this was available. Beautiful state park. Sites have electric, sewer and water. The restrooms were clean however since there was no electricity or water the toilets didn't flush but other than that they were awesome. The electric and water put back on the next day. Definitely will be back.
