Ridges At Royal Blue Introduce
For local residents in the Pioneer, Tennessee area with a passion for ATV riding and seeking "camping near me" with direct trail access, Ridges At Royal Blue, located at 6949 Stinking Creek Rd, Pioneer, TN 37847, USA, presents a compelling option. This campground is primarily geared towards ATV enthusiasts, offering immediate proximity to the extensive Royal Blue trail system. While praised for its clean and well-organized layout and spacious sites, it's important for potential visitors to be aware of some limitations and concerns raised in recent customer reviews regarding amenities and park management.
The environment surrounding Ridges At Royal Blue is characterized by the rugged terrain that makes the Royal Blue area a popular destination for off-road vehicle adventures. Situated in the Cumberland Plateau region of Tennessee, the campground offers immediate access to the vast network of ATV trails winding through forests and varied landscapes. This direct trail access is a significant environmental feature for ATV riders. The campground itself is described as clean and well-organized, with large gravel areas for parking RVs, vehicles, and ATVs. The sites are also noted for having ample space between them and feature ground-level edging with soft solar lights, which is a nice touch for nighttime visibility. However, the entrance and exit drives to the park are reported to be very steep with large potholes, potentially posing a challenge for some trucks and trailers, especially when exiting and causing gravel to scatter.
In terms of services, Ridges At Royal Blue offers essential hookups for RVs, described as "great easy hookups." However, it's crucial to note that customer reviews indicate a lack of several common campground amenities. Specifically, there is no pool, no Wi-Fi, no dog park, and seemingly no other recreational facilities beyond the ATV trails. The campground does have a bathhouse, which is accessible to all campers, but there is no designated path to it from some campsites, leading to people cutting through sites across from the bathrooms. The process for site assignment involves prepayment, and the site number is only provided upon calling. Furthermore, there is no campground map provided, requiring guests to drive around to locate their assigned site. The cost per night is reported to average around $81, with no discounts available, which, given the limited amenities, might be a consideration for some local users.
The primary feature of Ridges At Royal Blue is undoubtedly its direct access to the Royal Blue ATV trail system. This makes it an exceptionally convenient base for ATV riders looking to explore the over 600 miles of trails in the area. The large campsites with ample space for rigs and "toys" are also a significant feature, accommodating the needs of ATV enthusiasts who often travel with multiple vehicles and equipment. The ground-level edging with solar lights at each site is a thoughtful feature that enhances safety and aesthetics at night. While the campground lacks common amenities like a pool or dog park, its focus is clearly on providing a functional and organized base camp for ATV adventures. It's worth noting the tip from a reviewer suggesting that families with smaller ATVs (90cc to 180cc) might find the beginner trails more easily accessible from the nearby Eagle Rock campground (Trails 1, 2, and 3, with Trail 13 also being suitable).
Based on the provided customer reviews, there is no indication of any specific promotional information or discounts available at Ridges At Royal Blue. The average cost per night is stated to be around $81, and one reviewer explicitly mentioned that "There are no discounts available." Local users should be prepared for this pricing structure when considering a stay. Given the focus on ATV riding and the direct trail access, the pricing likely reflects the demand from this specific user group. It would still be advisable for local residents to contact the campground directly at (423) 784-1700 or +1 423-784-1700 to confirm current pricing and inquire about any potential local discounts that might not be mentioned in the reviews.
Customer reviews for Ridges At Royal Blue present a mixed picture. On the positive side, the park is described as "clean and very well organized" with "great easy hookups." The direct access to the ATV trails and the spacious campsites are also highlighted as major advantages. The friendly and sweet demeanor of everyone encountered is another positive aspect mentioned. However, several significant concerns are also raised. The steep and pothole-ridden entrance and exit drives are a notable issue, with some trucks and trailers experiencing difficulty. The lack of a path to the bathhouse from certain sites, leading to people cutting through other campsites, is inconvenient. The absence of a campground map and the need to call for a site number after prepayment are also noted as less than ideal. Furthermore, concerns are raised about the lack of enforcement of campground rules, specifically regarding dogs not being kept on leashes and ATVs exceeding the 5 mph speed limit within the park, creating dust and noise. There are also reports of non-guests driving through the park, raising security concerns. The lack of on-site staff monitoring and security is a recurring theme in the negative feedback.
The location of Ridges At Royal Blue in Pioneer, TN, is strategically advantageous for ATV enthusiasts due to its immediate access to the Royal Blue trail system. For local users specifically interested in exploring these trails, the convenience of riding directly from their campsite is a major draw. However, for those seeking a more traditional campground experience with amenities like a pool, dog park, or a more relaxed atmosphere, Ridges At Royal Blue might not be the best fit. The surrounding environment is geared towards off-road vehicle recreation, and while the natural beauty of the Cumberland Plateau is present, the primary focus of the resort is on facilitating ATV adventures. Local users should weigh the convenience of trail access against the reported lack of amenities and the concerns about park management and safety.
In conclusion, Ridges At Royal Blue offers a clean and well-organized campground with spacious sites and excellent, easy hookups, making it a convenient "camping near me" option for local ATV riders seeking direct access to the Royal Blue trail system. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported lack of common campground amenities such as a pool, Wi-Fi, and dog park. The steep and pothole-ridden entrance and exit, the lack of a campground map, and concerns about the enforcement of rules regarding speed limits and unleashed dogs are also important factors to consider. While praised for its organization and direct trail access, the average cost of $81 per night with no discounts might seem high to some, given the limited amenities. Local ATV enthusiasts prioritizing trail access above all else might find Ridges At Royal Blue a suitable base camp, but it's recommended to contact the campground directly at (423) 784-1700 or +1 423-784-1700 for the most current information and to address any specific concerns before booking a stay.

Ridges At Royal Blue Reviews
Amazing! The park is clean and very well organized. Great easy hookups. Entrance to trails closed by. We absolutely loved our time there and enjoyed their events. Everyone was so friendly and sweet.Tip for parent with children with small four wheelers like 90s to 180s if you are looking for beginners trails - might want to stay at eagle rock because they have access to the three easier trail system. Trails 1,2,3. Trail 13 is easy too for those types of bikes.
Nov 10, 2023 · FL Home Design ExpressThe cost per night average to $81. There are no discounts available. This is just a campground with no amenities such as pool, WIFI, dog park and etc.The entrance drive into the park is very steep and can only be access coming from the west. The exit drive is also very steep. Both the entrance and exit have large potholes. We saw many trucks and trailers have a hard time exiting the drive. They had to hit the gas which resulted in gravel going everywhere.Everyone cuts through the sites across from the bathrooms as there is no path to the bath house. You prepay for your site so you do not get your site number without calling them. There is no campground map so you just drive around the park to find your site.Due to no campground rules, dogs are not kept on leases and just walk around the park. The sites are large with a large gravel area to park your rig, vehicle, and all other toys. Plenty of space between sites. The sites have edging at ground level with ground lever solar lights on them. It is nice to have the soft lights at night. This is a campground for ATVs.There are signs up that cameras are in use. If they are up and in use, no one monitors them. Many of the ATVs do not follow the posted rule about the 5 MP speed limit and make gravel fly. Some staff do not observe any speed limits. A staff in a red car came driving into the park at a high rate of speed causing dust to fly everywhere. As there is no staff in the campground, no one is monitored to ensure that good camping etiquette is followed. It is a free for all! Many people not staying in the park drive through the park so make sure you lock up everything. There is no security.
May 06, 2023 · Caroline ShookWe love camping here! The folks are amazing and Stephanie and PJ in the office are the very best and could not be nicer or more helpful! These girls are on it! We can't wait for our next trip! Great access to trails and the campsites themselves are big and clean and most are easy to maneuver in. Also, we have made some great new riding buddies here! Highly recommended with our best rating. We love it here and you will too!
Oct 24, 2020 · Mark MilburnThis is a wonderful campground. The sites are large enough for a camper, side by sides, trail bikes and a truck. Our site backed up to a creek and had a porch swing set up to use. It was a great spot to sit and have coffee first thing in the garden. The restroom/bath house was always clean and was very spacious. They have a small table to use for dressing after showering. The staff were always helpful and truly want you to enjoy your stay.
Feb 04, 2020 · Angela StumpfVery nice campground. We stayed Memorial Day weekend. Expected it to be loud and crowded. The campground was full, but they have nice spacious sites. And actually very quiet for an off road park campground. Sites have full hookups, fire rings, picnic table, and large grassy area. Along with large gravel area with each spot for your camper, vehicle, off road vehicle and even a small trailer if needed. There is no office at the actual campground. So check in is down the road at the Royal Blue store. We will be back!
