The Environment: Quiet and Potentially Scenic
The name "Riverside Campgrounds" strongly suggests a location near a river, which often implies a tranquil and potentially scenic environment. Belhaven, NC, is situated in the Inner Banks region of North Carolina, known for its waterways and natural beauty. One reviewer described the park as "great off the beaten path" and noted that their stay was "quiet and peaceful," with the potential for "magical" sunsets. This suggests that Riverside Campgrounds offers a serene setting away from busier areas, likely with a natural ambiance enhanced by its proximity to a river. Whether you're in an RV or a cabin, the environment seems geared towards relaxation and enjoying the outdoors. For those seeking a quiet and potentially picturesque "camping near me" experience, Riverside Campgrounds appears to be a good fit.
Services and Amenities: Basic for RVs, More Comprehensive in Cabins
Based on the customer reviews, the services and amenities at Riverside Campgrounds vary depending on whether you are in an RV or renting a cabin.
For RV campers, one review explicitly states that there are "no washroom nor showers," but the park offers electrical, water, and sewer hookups. This makes it suitable for RVers who have these facilities within their vehicles. The manager is described as "super friendly and accommodating," indicating a positive service aspect.
For those renting cabins, one reviewer who stayed in cabin #4 provided more details. The cabin was described as "quiet, tidy," and having the basics, including:
- A living room/efficiency kitchen area with 2 chairs and a table
- Sleeping areas for up to 4 people
- A bathroom with a shower stall
- A screened front porch with seating for 4
However, the reviewer also noted that guests need to bring their own place settings, linens (kitchen, bath, and bed), and take precautions against mice. This suggests that the cabins provide fundamental shelter and some amenities but require guests to bring certain essentials. The reservation process, handled by "Brooke," was described as "very simple."
Overall, Riverside Campgrounds offers basic but essential hookups for RVs and more comprehensive but not fully inclusive amenities in their cabins. The friendly and accommodating management seems to be a consistent positive aspect of their service.

- Friendly and Accommodating Management: The positive feedback about the manager and the hostess, Brooke, indicates a welcoming and helpful staff.

However, it's also important to note the tips provided by a cabin renter, such as bringing your own linens and being aware of the potential for wildlife (mice in this case). The reminder about the year-round residents and the request for consideration regarding noise levels further characterizes the peaceful and perhaps more community-oriented nature of the campground.

Riverside Campgrounds Reviews
Great off the beaten path park with lots of spaces but no washroom nor showers. The manager was super friendly and accommodating to our requests and our stay was quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended if you only need electrical, water and sewer. The sunsets can be magical.
Mar 30, 2023 · Norman W. ClarkBrooke was an excellent hostess and made the reservation process very simple. The campground is very well-maintained, quiet, and welcoming.I stayed in cabin 4 with my son. It was quiet, tidy, and had the basics: 2 chairs and a table in the living room/efficiency kitchen area; sleeping areas for up to 4 people; and a bathroom with a shower stall. The screened front porch has seating for 4.A few tips to those planning to rent these (super affordable) cabins:•bring place settings for each person in your group•bring linens (kitchen, bath, and bed)•bring a sealed or sealable container for your snacks (we had a mouse staying with us, so everything went in the fridge or freezer)•if you're planning to fish here, be sure to bring bait. Ray's Market (on 264, just up the road) does not carry synthetic bait or other minor tackle items. He carries worms, but nothing else (as of 4/20/22). I'm also not sure if you can get your fishing license there, but if you need one, the (other) closest place to get it is ACE Hardware in BelhavenKeep in mind that there are some folks who live here year-round, so if you have children who are prone to screaming, I would ask you to please think twice before bringing them to such a peaceful place, out of respect for the residents.I'd stay here again. 😊
