The environment of Roosevelt State Park Campground is frequently described as "nice" and "beautiful." One reviewer specifically mentions that it is "really wooded with spaced out spots," suggesting a camping experience that offers both shade and a degree of privacy between campsites. For those who appreciate being surrounded by trees and having some space to enjoy their time outdoors, this wooded environment could be a significant draw. Another reviewer highlighted having a "campsite on the water," indicating that the park offers some campsites with direct access to a lake. This adds to the scenic appeal and provides opportunities for water-related activities, although these are not detailed in the reviews. The presence of a lake also suggests potential for wildlife viewing and enjoying the natural beauty of the water.
In terms of services and features, Roosevelt State Park Campground appears to offer a range of amenities, though some aspects may show signs of age. One reviewer noted the presence of "cabins and concrete pads" which are "sort of run down," suggesting that while these facilities exist, they might not be in pristine condition and that routine maintenance might be lacking. However, the park also boasts more recreational features, including "a water slide and pool!!!" This is a significant amenity, particularly for families or those looking to cool off during the warmer months. It's important to note that one visitor's trip coincided with an ice storm, preventing them from using the pool, highlighting that the availability of seasonal amenities might vary. The park also features a "nice hike around the lake," indicating the presence of trails for walking and enjoying the natural scenery. However, the same reviewer mentioned that "the trails need some maintenance too," suggesting that while hiking is possible, the trail conditions might not be perfect. For larger gatherings, the park offers "a big event center" and "big group picnic pavilions," making it suitable for group outings and events. Families with young children will appreciate the "several playgrounds for little kids."
A key feature of Roosevelt State Park Campground, as highlighted by the reviews, is its natural beauty combined with a range of recreational facilities. The wooded campsites and lake access provide a pleasant outdoor environment, while the pool and water slide offer opportunities for fun and relaxation. The presence of hiking trails, playgrounds, and group facilities makes it versatile for different types of visitors, from families to groups. While some infrastructure like cabins, concrete pads, and trails might need upkeep, the overall sentiment is positive, with one reviewer stating, "It ain’t the Hilton, but a beautiful place!" This suggests that while it might not be a luxury resort, the natural charm and available amenities make it a worthwhile destination.

Roosevelt State Park Campground Reviews
A nice park. Really wooded with spaced out spots. But the cabins and concrete pads are sort of run down. They don’t do routine maintenance. A water slide and pool!!! But we visited in the ice storm storm of February 2023 so we didn’t use the pool! Nice hike around the lake, but the trails need sone maintenance too. It ain’t the Hilton, but a beautiful place! A big event center, several play grounds for little kids. Big group picnic pavilions.
