Goshen Springs Campground Introduce
If you are searching for "camping near me" in the Brandon, Mississippi area, Goshen Springs Campground, located at 4248 MS-43, Brandon, MS 39047, USA, is a potential option to consider. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the campground based on recent customer reviews found online, highlighting both its advantageous location and potential drawbacks to help local users make an informed decision.
The environment surrounding Goshen Springs Campground offers a blend of natural attractions and accessibility. Its adjacency to the Natchez Trace Parkway, a National Parkway renowned for its scenic beauty and historical significance, makes it an appealing choice for travelers exploring this route. This proximity provides opportunities for leisurely drives, cycling, hiking, and experiencing the rich history of the region. Furthermore, the campground's location right next to a "huge reservoir" suggests the potential for water-based recreational activities such as boating and fishing, making it attractive to those who enjoy spending time on the water. The presence of many people with boats, as noted by a reviewer, supports this. However, the environment also has a less desirable aspect: the campground is situated adjacent to a "very busy road that gets pretty loud." This noise pollution could detract from the peacefulness that many campers seek in a natural setting. Therefore, while the proximity to natural and historical attractions is a significant environmental advantage, the noise from the nearby road is a notable environmental consideration.
Goshen Springs Campground offers several services and features that cater primarily to RV travelers. The reviews mention "very spacious sites with concrete pads and 30/50 amp FHU," which stands for Full Hook-Ups, including electricity (both 30 and 50 amp service), water, and sewer connections. These are highly desirable amenities for RV owners, providing convenience and comfort during their stay. The campground operates on an "online only" reservation system, which is important for prospective guests to note. One reviewer also mentioned that the website states a "14 day stay" limit. However, this is contradicted by the observation that "many RVs have been here for months maybe even years," suggesting a potential discrepancy between the stated policy and the actual practices of the campground. A newer section of the campground is mentioned as appearing to be "more transient," implying that this area might adhere more closely to shorter stay durations. A significant concern raised in one of the reviews is the apparent lack of after-hours support, as the reviewer noted "no one after hours to talk to or number posted." This could be problematic for guests arriving late or encountering issues outside of regular business hours. The same review also details a negative experience regarding payment processing and subsequent interactions with management, including allegations of harassment, threats of utility shut-off, and being moved to a different site prematurely. These reports raise serious concerns about the campground's customer service and management practices.
The features of Goshen Springs Campground include the spacious sites with concrete pads, which provide a level and stable parking area for RVs. The full hook-ups (30/50 amp electricity, water, and sewer) are a significant feature for RVers. The proximity to the Natchez Trace Parkway and the large reservoir are key locational features, offering easy access to recreational and sightseeing opportunities. The online-only reservation system is a feature that provides convenience for booking but also necessitates internet access for making reservations. The apparent discrepancy between the stated 14-day stay limit and the presence of long-term residents is a notable characteristic of the campground. The newer section catering to more transient guests suggests a potential difference in the camping experience depending on the location within the park. However, the negative review highlights a lack of effective communication, rigid payment policies, and what was perceived as intimidating behavior from the management, including cutting off utilities and moving a guest's site without adequate notice. These reported incidents are significant features that potential guests should be aware of.
For those searching for "camping near me" with RVs, the spacious sites with concrete pads and full hook-ups at Goshen Springs Campground could be appealing. The location adjacent to the Natchez Trace Parkway offers a unique opportunity to explore this historic route, and the proximity to a large reservoir provides access to water-based activities. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported significant drawback of noise from the adjacent busy road, which could impact the tranquility of their stay. Furthermore, the serious allegations in one of the reviews regarding management's handling of payment issues, communication, and treatment of a guest are critical points to consider. These reports suggest potential issues with customer service and the overall management of the campground, which could significantly affect the camping experience.
Given the negative experiences reported in one of the reviews, any potential promotional information would need to be carefully evaluated in light of these concerns. While the campground might offer competitive rates or highlight its location and amenities, the reported issues with management practices could outweigh these benefits for many campers. It is important to note that no specific promotional offers were mentioned in the provided reviews. Potential guests should prioritize researching more recent reviews from various sources to determine if the issues reported have been addressed or if they persist. Contacting the campground directly to inquire about their policies and procedures, particularly regarding payment and guest relations, might also provide valuable insights before making a booking.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in Brandon, MS, Goshen Springs Campground offers a convenient location near the Natchez Trace Parkway and a large reservoir, along with spacious RV sites featuring full hook-ups. However, the potential for significant noise from the adjacent busy road is a notable environmental factor to consider. More importantly, the serious allegations in a recent review regarding the campground's management practices, including rigid payment policies, poor communication, and what was perceived as harassment and intimidation, should give potential guests pause. While the newer section might offer a different experience for transient guests, the overall impression from the available reviews is mixed, with significant concerns about the management and customer service. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that prospective visitors seek additional, recent reviews from multiple sources to get a broader understanding of the current conditions and management practices at Goshen Springs Campground before making a reservation.
In conclusion, Goshen Springs Campground in Brandon, MS, offers a potentially convenient location for exploring the Natchez Trace Parkway and enjoying the nearby reservoir, with the benefit of spacious RV sites and full hook-ups. However, the reported noise from the adjacent busy road and, more critically, the serious allegations regarding management issues and customer service raise significant concerns. Local users searching for "camping near me" should carefully weigh these potential drawbacks against the advantages of the location and amenities, and are strongly advised to seek out additional, recent reviews to gain a more comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the campground before making a booking decision.

Goshen Springs Campground Reviews
This place is adjacent to the Natchez Trace parkway which is why we are here. It's also right next to a huge reservoir so a lot of people here with boats. Very spacious sites with concrete pads and 30/50 amp FHU. It is adjacent to a very busy road that gets pretty loud. Reservations are online only. Website says the limit is a 14 day stay. Many RVs have been here for months maybe even years. Newer section appears to be more transient.
Apr 22, 2025 · straight upWent from 100 to 0 quickly.... These people harassed me over $4 I didn't have on one of my cards but I had on my other card and could not transfer. They wouldn't accept 2 forms of payment. This should have been my first clue. So I let that go and continue on with my stay. They have no one after hours to talk to or number posted. I got in at 11 pm from work, I went in to work at 645 am. The payment I made online didn't go through which I didn't understand because I thought I got a confirmation number but apparently I didn't because I couldn't find it when I went back to look for it. I paid that the next morning ASAP, so anyway they were so afraid I had spent a night without paying they never even looked to see if I had made a payment when they called me trying to intimidate me telling me that they would cut off my lights and my water and lock me out of my camper that my dog was inside of, if I didn't make a payment before 5 pm. This was at 3 pm... So I kindly told them to check their records that I had paid for 2 days and I got hung up on. Then they rented the spot I was staying on so I would have to move .when I moved to New spot they rented it for the next week and they cut the power and water to the new spot. Run by police you would think would be better than this garbage place.

Feb 07, 2025 · Lisa menkenToo far out, rude office workers, over priced , offers nothing, treated like garbage once they have your money, cut off power to lot I just rented and refused to turn it on , avoid at all costs. Rez police own and operate this place
Oct 25, 2024 · Eve TravisNice spot for fishing and boating. The campground has two sections, nightly and monthly. No monthlys available but the nightlys are reasonably priced and it's a nice spot for a weekend trip. They have a pool and a small playground for the kids, a large pavilion for parties and a boat ramp. The female bathhouse is...not good, only one shower 'works' the other two either trickle or blast your skin off like a pressure washer, and throw temperature control out the window. Most of the toilets always stay in some state of clogged. The laundry mat is just as abysmal. None of the dryers work and all the washers have a faint smell of cigarettes. Full hookup but some of the water pipes busted during winter so check your water line before you put jacks down. Also some sewer pipes sit higher than others making drainage an issue. They have some really nice roomy paved slots with privacy bushes. Some at the front still need to be repaved. The slots by the dumpsters stink of dead fish and wet trash perpetually. The woodline occasionally floods. Security is good during the day but none at night. The occasional wild party happens. You get decent signal on both phones and Internet. Low noise pollution, a few spots have decent shade during the day. Its about 20-30 minutes away from downtown Jackson. Not the most amazing park we've stayed at but definitely not the worst.
