Round Spring Campground Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" in a potentially beautiful natural setting, Round Spring Campground, located on MO-19 in Eminence, MO 65466, USA, offers an option worth considering. You can reach them at (877) 444-6777 or their mobile number +1 877-444-6777 for inquiries and reservations. Based on the limited available customer reviews, this campground within the Missouri National Forest presents a mixed picture, offering tranquility during the off-season but with some concerns regarding maintenance and campsite size.
The environment surrounding Round Spring Campground is likely a significant draw, given its location within the Missouri National Forest and its name suggesting proximity to the natural wonder of Round Spring itself. National Forests are typically characterized by abundant natural beauty, including forests, rivers, springs, and diverse wildlife. One reviewer noted it as a "Great campground in the off season," implying that the natural surroundings offer a pleasant and potentially secluded experience when fewer visitors are present. The proximity to Round Spring, a well-known natural spring system, suggests opportunities for exploring this unique geological feature and enjoying the surrounding landscape. However, another reviewer mentioned that "the National Forest is not taking care of the park which is evident in the roads and campsites," indicating a potential decline in the maintained quality of the natural environment within the campground itself. Despite this concern, the inherent beauty of the Missouri National Forest likely still provides a backdrop of natural appeal for those seeking "camping near me."
Information regarding the specific services offered at Round Spring Campground is limited in the provided reviews. However, based on the nature of campgrounds within National Forests, we can infer some likely services. Typically, such campgrounds offer designated campsites, which may vary in size and amenities. The mention of "very small camping spot, suitable for two 4 person tents" by one reviewer suggests that at least some campsites have limited space. It's probable that the campground provides basic amenities such as picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Restroom facilities are usually available, which could range from vault toilets to flush toilets depending on the campground's development level. Water sources might be available, but their potability should be verified upon arrival. Showers are less common in more rustic National Forest campgrounds. The negative comment about the National Forest not taking care of the park might extend to the maintenance of these basic services. Conversely, the mention of a "friendly cat that came over" suggests the presence of some level of human activity and potentially a relaxed atmosphere. For local users considering Round Spring Campground in their search for "camping near me," it is advisable to inquire about the specific services and their current condition when making a reservation.
The features of Round Spring Campground appear to be somewhat contrasting based on the available feedback. A key feature seems to be the potential for a peaceful and secluded experience, particularly during the off-season when, according to one reviewer, "We had the place to ourselves." This tranquility could be a significant draw for those seeking a quiet retreat in nature within the "camping near me" vicinity. However, the small size of some campsites, as noted by another reviewer, could be a limiting factor for larger groups or those with more extensive camping setups. The presence of local wildlife, such as "raccoons are not scared at all," is another feature to be aware of, requiring campers to take appropriate precautions for food storage and waste disposal. The unexpected appearance of a "friendly cat" adds a unique, albeit perhaps not universally desired, element to the camping experience. The overarching feature seems to be a more rustic and potentially less maintained camping environment within a naturally beautiful setting, offering both the appeal of solitude and the challenges of a less developed campground.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the implicit promotion lies in the campground's location within the Missouri National Forest and its proximity to Round Spring, suggesting natural beauty and opportunities for exploration. The reviewer's positive comment about the off-season experience ("Great campground in the off season") could be seen as a promotional point for those seeking a quiet and uncrowded camping experience during less popular times of the year. Conversely, the negative feedback regarding the lack of maintenance could serve as a cautionary note. For local users searching for "camping near me," the potential for a secluded off-season retreat in a National Forest setting might be the primary promotional draw, offset by the need to be prepared for potentially less-than-ideal conditions due to maintenance concerns and the small size of some campsites. The natural allure of the Round Spring area itself acts as an inherent attraction for visitors.
In conclusion, Round Spring Campground in Eminence, MO, offers a potentially tranquil "camping near me" option, particularly during the off-season when fewer visitors are present. Its location within the Missouri National Forest suggests access to natural beauty and the nearby Round Spring. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported lack of maintenance affecting roads and campsites, as well as the small size of at least some camping spots. The presence of bold raccoons necessitates careful food storage. While the off-season offers the promise of solitude, campers should be prepared for a more rustic experience and consider the limited information available when planning their visit. For local users seeking a quieter, nature-focused camping experience and are willing to potentially overlook some maintenance issues and accommodate smaller campsites, Round Spring Campground might be a viable option, especially during the less crowded times of the year. It is recommended to contact the provided phone number for the most up-to-date information on conditions and services.

Round Spring Campground Reviews
Great campground in the off season. We had the place to ourselves. However, the National Forest is not taking care of the park which is evident in the roads and campsites.
Nov 07, 2024 · Larry MalcomDecent campground for a nights stay. very small camping spot, suitable for two 4 person tents. raccoons are not scared at all though. they did have a friendly cat that came over.
Aug 29, 2024 · timmy dRound Spring Campground is a Missouri hidden gem located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. The National Forest is located next to the Current River and is home to an amazing Cave. Make sure to attend the cave tour at a very low cost that is guided by the National Park Rangers. Another local secret, very an amazing Firefly show in the month of June, earlier the better from the Ozark Trail Bridge that crosses the Current River. I guarantee you've seen nothing like it.
Jun 10, 2024 · Happy TrailsBeautiful campground in a gorgeous area. Clean/updated bathrooms/showers - probably the best campground bathrooms I've encountered. We came here in October, and there was only one other couple camping here, so it was very quiet. The springs were incredible to see. The cave was closed by this time of year. I am from Iowa, and I had no idea southern MO had so much beauty.
Oct 18, 2023 · HollyThis is a very nice and well-kept campground with clean, warm showers and roomy spots. My only niggle is the dearth of electric sites. I use a CPAP and had to do without and my poor tent-mates didn't get the restful sleep they needed. Also, I wish it was just a tad closer to Eminence; don’t plan on quick trips into town if you need something. All-in-all though, you can't go wrong at this campground.
