Sacony Family Campground Introduce
For those in search of "camping near me" in the Kutztown, Pennsylvania area, Sacony Family Campground, located at 1583 Saucony Rd, Kutztown, PA 19530, USA, offers a potential local getaway. They can be reached at (610) 683-3939 or their mobile number, +1 610-683-3939, for inquiries and bookings. Based on available customer feedback, Sacony Family Campground appears to provide a peaceful environment and offers cabin accommodations in addition to traditional camping options.
The environment of Sacony Family Campground seems to be a key positive aspect highlighted by at least one visitor. The description of the location as "very peaceful" suggests a tranquil setting where guests can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. This could appeal to individuals, couples, and families looking for a break from the noise and stress of daily life. The mention of a pleasant weekend experience indicates that the campground provides an atmosphere conducive to relaxation and enjoyment of the outdoors.
In terms of services and features, the limited information available suggests that Sacony Family Campground offers cabin rentals. One positive experience involved a guest who arrived without a reservation and was offered an upgrade to a better cabin. This indicates a degree of flexibility and willingness to accommodate guests, potentially even those with last-minute plans. The fact that the guest explicitly stated they would return and had made a reservation for the future speaks volumes about their positive experience with the accommodations and the overall atmosphere of the campground.
However, it's crucial to present a balanced view by also considering the less positive feedback. One reviewer expressed significant confusion and frustration with the campground's website. The process of being asked for card information before even viewing availability was a major point of concern. This lack of transparency in the booking process could deter potential guests who prefer to check availability before providing payment details. The subsequent blank screen after entering payment information further exacerbated the negative experience with the online platform.
The same reviewer also reported a negative interaction with a staff member over the phone. The description of the staff member's communication style as "passive aggressive" and "belittling" is a serious concern. Being addressed with terms like "sweetie" and "honey" repeatedly, particularly when asking legitimate questions about the booking process, is unprofessional and can create a negative first impression. This type of customer service experience could significantly impact a potential guest's decision to stay at the campground, regardless of the physical environment or amenities.
Considering these contrasting experiences is essential for local users searching for "camping near me." While the peaceful environment and the availability of cabin rentals are attractive features, the potential issues with the website's functionality and the reported negative customer service interaction are factors that should not be overlooked. Prospective campers might want to exercise caution when using the website for bookings and be prepared for potentially less-than-ideal customer service experiences based on the feedback provided.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Sacony Family Campground in the provided reviews. To inquire about any special offers, seasonal discounts, or package deals, it would be best to contact the campground directly using the phone numbers listed. It's also advisable to ask about their booking procedures, cancellation policies, and any specific amenities or services offered at the campground beyond cabin rentals, such as RV sites, tent areas, restroom facilities, or recreational activities.
In conclusion, Sacony Family Campground in Kutztown, PA, presents itself as a local option for those seeking "camping near me" and offers a potentially peaceful environment with cabin accommodations. The positive experience shared by one guest regarding the cabin and the overall tranquility suggests a pleasant stay is possible. However, the significant issues raised by another reviewer concerning the website's functionality and unprofessional customer service are serious drawbacks that potential guests should be aware of. It is recommended to contact the campground directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information and to proceed with caution regarding online booking based on the available feedback.

Jul 31, 2021 · Tracy HetrichWas very confused on how the website functioned because I had to put in my card information before even seeing the availability for the dates I wanted. I have no problem making a reservation payment so I put my info in and then after that the website went to a blank screen with no more info. I called and was greeted by a man who was very passive aggressive to me calling down to me by calling me sweetie and honey over and over again just because I was asking him questions about how the process worked and why it asked for money before it even told me availability. I was excited of the thought of staying here but do not ask any questions at all or you will get belittled.
Jul 01, 2021 · Carmen RoehmI made a reservation for the campground 4 days prior, they ask for a deposit online of 50 dollars. I called and informed them I could not make the trip. I asked if I may get my deposit back. He said their policy is 30 days out for cancellation. Well it was 4 days ago.On principle alone, I’ll never use that campground.
Aug 26, 2021 · Jason RosatiThis place is FOOL'S GOLD! I was told that check-in was 1pm, we arrived and found not one soul around the place. Then a lady comes out of a cabin claiming she is not an employee of the place and called the owner. The owner arrived at 230pm, and the lady who wasn't an employee was behind the counter, in the register, and talking about the place like she built it. I was discounted for a large cabin, but charged for a/c and FOUR additional people at the rate of $6/ea. I did NOT have 4 additional, I had THREE. This error was noticed the following day. There were no grates for the grills, and the advertised pool was green and looked like it was home to bacteria. The owner checked the Ph levels and added chemicals to the pool so my party of 7 can swim. The first morning, I woke up to a flat tire. I had a donut, but no jack and I was 100 miles away from home with my family which included small children. A friend of ours came to the campground and was going to stay the night, so he could take my children in his car and I can pray the donut got me home in one piece. CRAZY LADY told me that we are not allowed guests, despite the website saying otherwise and despite the fact that I was charged for FOUR additional people instead of the THREE I had. The owner NEVER arrived, but the POLICE did. The police asked our guest to leave and tresspassed him. I asked the police to relay the message to the nether troll NOT to harass my party again. That night, the whack-a-doo had a visitor for about an hour and I wonder if he was on the list or if the rules don't apply to her.The crazy lady harassed us, the website is misleading. The pool was questionable to swim in, but that activity was nixed when Ms. Loco decided to add shock, chlorine and who knows what else to the pool WHILE my children were in it. The woman was PURELY 'tarded. Before the Kutztown PD arrived, my family was saying how lovely the place was and how we were the ONLY people there beside the resident psycho and that we may make it an annual event and invite more people to join us. We made due with the spiders in the cabin, the ants on the mini fridge, and having to smoke off property. What we didn't appreciate was the treatment of being second class citizens to the wilderness lady and the lies told to us by her and the website. We had to wait to check-in because no one was around, we had to deal with the donkey brained idiot who didn't work there but had keys to the office and spied on us, and we were charged for AC that we didn't have and an additional person who wasn't there and when he was, the cops were called. The campground advertised "fishing and hiking" but the stream on the property barely had enough depth to drop a line and the locals told us that there are NO FISH in that water, after the owner said there was trout. The pool was the shade of Swamp Thing and we were spied on harder than Big Brother. To top it off, on our day of check-out, I was in the shower and crazy lady came into the building for what I thought was cleaning because she ran the hot and cold water back and forth causing me to lose hot and cold water. She didn't do THAT great of a job when the garbage cans weren't emptied, a toilet wasn't clean, the mirrors had spots, and tissues were on the floor. I took a 20 minute shower and she was huffing and puffing about something while pretending to clean. I exited the shower and there she is! Sitting inside the bath house and picking her nasty bunions in the chair. We left before check-out so we could get back to the real world because the fantasy that this place sold us was a nightmare! The place is FOOL'S GOLD---you can put lipstick on a turd, but it will still be a turd. If you go, don't feed the troll, she won't go away.
Aug 07, 2017 · Brattie McGrouchiepunk (The Proletariat)This is a nice little campground, quiet and out of the way. Has a pool and also a stream runs along it that you can ride on as a "lazy river". Not too many creature comforts like a bigger campground, but a nice place to get away
