Savanna Portage State Park Campground Reviews
Beautiful campground with nice facilities. We stayed at site 25 and really liked it. The only issue we experienced was after 3 consecutive nights of rain, the site became quite muddy, like literally no way to not get muddy. Several of the campsites around us were vacant, likely due to the rain, and they were pretty mud free. It looked like we could’ve used a bit more gravel at the entrance if our site but I didn’t think it was a reason to knock any stars off. We enjoyed the layout and location of site 25z would definitely return again.
Jul 08, 2024 · A SchusterI very much like this camping site. It has a very awesome hiking trail around to lake very nice bathrooms and campsites. We usually stay at the camper cabin. It is nice and warm. Some other great things their are many fun places nearby, and their is a awesome swimming, trout fishing, and playground lake as well as the main lake. This place is very fun and nice I would recommend!
Sep 27, 2024 · Harmony KoshiolGreat campground with all the amenities, while still feeling remote. The campground wasn't full 4th of July weekend, maybe because the mosquitos were ruthless with all the recent rains. The road to loon lake was also closed. Trails leave right from campsite. We had site 53 which felt a bit secluded and very close to potable water. Very clean. Will come back once the bugs die down!
Jul 08, 2024 · Scott PawlowskiThis is a nice state park overall with plenty of things to do, including fishing, boat rentals, hiking, swimming and more. Most sites are fairly private. But choose carefully. Some sites are only designed for tents, and cannot fit a camper. Our only complaint was the water was full of iron, creating an odor and stains.
Sep 06, 2024 · Christopher HaynesNice spacious sites with lots of trees for privacy. Kids caught dozen of sunnies off the fishing pier and enjoyed the swimming area on Loon Lake, albeit a very small swimming area.Restrooms and showers were clean and well kept.
