Sea-Vu South Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Wells, Maine area, Sea-Vu South Campground, located at 150 Chapel Rd, Wells, ME 04090, USA, presents itself as an option. You can reach them at (207) 646-4684 or +1 207-646-4684 for more information. Based on recent customer reviews, it's important to consider several aspects before choosing this campground, particularly if you are considering purchasing a park model.
One customer who purchased a park model in 2023 shared a less than satisfactory experience regarding the staff's hospitality. They expressed that for an RV park, which is typically driven by hospitality, Sea-Vu South Campground fell significantly short. As an example, they mentioned that despite the park being primarily for weekend visitors from Massachusetts and surrounding states seeking relaxation, the management had on multiple occasions scheduled subcontractors to perform work that created significant noise disruptions. This reviewer described the management's attitude as poor and indicated that there were other negative experiences. This feedback suggests that the level of customer service and consideration for the comfort of guests might be an area of concern for some.
Adding to the financial considerations for those looking to buy a park model, the same reviewer highlighted a $3000.00 administrative fee charged by the park upon the sale of a park model. They noted that this type of fee had not been encountered in several other parks where they had previously purchased. This significant fee is a crucial financial detail for anyone contemplating buying and potentially reselling a park model within Sea-Vu South Campground.
Furthermore, the town of Wells imposes taxes on everything on the lot, which represents an additional expense for park model owners. The reviewer mentioned paying just over $500 in personal property tax. They also received notification from the park that small storage containers, commonly used by most units, would require permits and would likely be taxed as well. This suggests a potentially increasing burden of additional costs associated with owning property within the campground, which prospective buyers should thoroughly investigate and factor into their budget.
Given these experiences, the reviewer explicitly stated that they would not buy a unit at Sea-Vu South Campground again and strongly advised others to do their research before making a purchase there. This cautionary feedback is significant for local users considering a longer-term commitment through the purchase of a park model.
On a more positive note, another reviewer commented that "the campground is nice and well-maintained" and specifically praised an individual named Megan for doing a great job. This suggests that the physical appearance and upkeep of the campground itself might be satisfactory. However, this reviewer also pointed out a significant change since the original, local owners, Dave & Molly, sold the park to a nationwide corporation a few years ago. According to this feedback, the park fee has almost doubled to $8,300. The reviewer expressed sadness over how "corporate greed" has negatively impacted retirees trying to enjoy their retirement, labeling it as "shameful." This substantial increase in park fees is a critical piece of information for anyone considering seasonal or long-term stays at Sea-Vu South Campground.
Considering these points, Sea-Vu South Campground in Wells, Maine, offers a location within a popular coastal region. The environment is likely appealing, given the general attraction of Wells, Maine, with its beaches, local amenities, and proximity to other southern Maine attractions. The fact that one reviewer found the campground "nice and well-maintained" suggests that the aesthetic and general upkeep of the grounds might be a positive aspect for visitors and residents.
However, in terms of services and features, the information gleaned from the reviews paints a somewhat mixed picture. While the physical maintenance may be good in some aspects, the hospitality and customer service have been called into question. For those considering purchasing park models, the significant administrative fee upon selling and the additional property taxes imposed by the town are crucial financial considerations. The substantial increase in park fees since the change in ownership also impacts the overall affordability for those looking at longer-term stays.
There isn't specific promotional information available in these reviews, but the implicit draw would be its location in Wells, Maine, a desirable coastal town. For local users searching for "camping near me," Sea-Vu South Campground offers a place to stay, potentially with well-maintained grounds. However, prospective visitors, especially those considering purchasing park models or seeking a high level of hospitality, should carefully weigh the reported negative experiences against the potential positives of the location and general upkeep.
In conclusion, Sea-Vu South Campground presents a mixed bag for local users seeking "camping near me." While the location in Wells, Maine, is undoubtedly attractive and some aspects of the campground's maintenance are appreciated, concerns have been raised regarding customer service, significant fees associated with park model sales, local property taxes, and a substantial increase in park fees. Therefore, it is highly recommended that anyone considering staying at or purchasing property within Sea-Vu South Campground conduct thorough research and potentially speak with current residents or management to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current conditions and costs involved.

Sea-Vu South Campground Reviews
We purchased a park model in the park in 2023. The experience with the staff has been less than great. Being that an RV park is hospitality driven, they fall short of 1 star in that category. I'll give you an example, the park is mostly weekend folks coming from Mass and surrounding states to relax on the weekend. The park management has on more than one occasion had sub contractors at the park making noise that is extremely disruptive. The attitude of the management is to bad. There's many more stories to go with this one.The park also charges a $3000.00 Admin fee if you sell your park model. I've bought in several other parks and this fee has never been charged at other parks. The town of Wells also taxes everything on the lot. So there's that added expense that you will want to account for before purchasing. We paid just over 500 in personal property tax. We just got notification from the park that the small storage container that most units have need permits and will likely be taxed as well. Just doesn't seem to stop. Everyone has their hand out.I guess the question is would I buy a unit here again? The answer is no. Do your research before buying in this park.
Jul 27, 2024 · Main Choice InspectionsThe campground is nice and well-maintained and Megan does a great job, but since Dave & Molly the original, local owners sold it to a nation wide corporation just a few years ago the park fee has almost doubled to $8,300. It’s so sad how corporate greed has adversely affected retirees trying to enjoy their golden years. It’s shameful.
Sep 27, 2023 · Matt EarlyWe love Sea Vu South. Megan is a hard working manager who makes everyone feel welcomed and cared for. They have so many varied activities from huge bounce houses to live music by the pool. Great crew there..Still the same great crew in 22.

Retired or otherwise bring your dog and enjoy Lighthouse adventures, Outlet shopping, Seafood, and multiple activities. Beach is nearby!
