Beach Acres Tent Sites & Park Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience close to the coast in Wells, Maine? Beach Acres Tent Sites & Park, located at 563 Post Rd, Wells, ME 04090, USA, offers a seasonal camping option that has garnered positive feedback for its affordability, proximity to the water, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, potential local users should also be aware of a noted issue with skunks within the park.
The environment at Beach Acres Tent Sites & Park benefits significantly from its location. Situated in Wells, a popular coastal town in Maine, the campground is conveniently located "less than a mile to the water," making it an attractive option for beachgoers and those who enjoy the proximity to the ocean. One long-term seasonal camper even describes it as the "best park on the Seacoast," highlighting its desirable location. The overall atmosphere seems pleasant, with one reviewer describing their experience as "good." The facilities are reported to be "clean," which is a crucial aspect for a comfortable camping stay. The presence of seasonal campers who return year after year suggests a welcoming and established community within the park. While the specific layout and natural features of the tent sites and park are not detailed, the proximity to the coast implies access to the typical coastal environment of southern Maine.
The services at Beach Acres Tent Sites & Park are generally well-received. The owners are described as "super nice" by a seasonal camper, indicating positive management and a welcoming attitude. Another reviewer also noted that the "staff was friendly," contributing to a positive overall experience. The cleanliness of the facilities is specifically mentioned, suggesting that the campground prioritizes hygiene and the comfort of its guests. While the specific amenities available (such as restrooms, showers, water hookups, or recreational facilities) are not fully detailed in the provided reviews, the positive comments about cleanliness imply that these basic services are likely provided and maintained to a satisfactory standard. However, a significant issue raised by one reviewer is "the amount of skunks that walked around at night." These skunks were reportedly unafraid of people and highly food-driven, with instances of a skunk stealing a marshmallow and even entering a tent where food was left. While the reviewer only smelled skunk twice in five nights, the boldness of the skunks is presented as "definitely a problem that needs to be dealt with." This is a crucial service-related aspect that potential campers should be aware of and perhaps inquire about when booking.
The primary features of Beach Acres Tent Sites & Park include its excellent location, being "less than a mile to the water," which is a major draw for those wanting easy beach access. The pricing is considered "reasonably priced compared to most of the parks" in the area, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious campers looking for a coastal experience. The seasonal nature of the park suggests an established and potentially well-organized operation. The consistently mentioned friendly staff and the cleanliness of the facilities contribute significantly to a positive guest experience. However, the notable presence of bold skunks that are actively seeking food from campers is a unique and potentially negative feature that needs careful consideration. While the overall experience was deemed "good" and "great" by reviewers, the skunk issue is a specific concern that could impact the comfort and enjoyment of a stay, especially for those with children or pets. The fact that one reviewer is a seasonal camper speaks volumes about the positive aspects that outweigh this particular issue for them.

Beach Acres Tent Sites & Park Reviews
I'm a seasonal at Beach Acres and it is the best park on the Seacoast. Reasonably priced compared to most of the parks and less than a mile to the water. Owners are super nice.
Apr 23, 2025 · Linda HooperThe experience itself was good. Facilities were clean. Staff was friendly. Overall, we had a great experience. Only issue for us was the amount of skunks that walked around at night. They were not afraid of people and very food driven. One came right up to my chair and stole a marshmallow. Another night, it came right into my tente because the kids had left food goldfish crackers there. They were not afraid of humans. Having said that, we only smelled skunk 2x in the five nights we were there. But definitely a problem that needs to be dealt with.
Aug 17, 2023 · Jennifer PatrickGood place. Strange part the dog are supposed to be not allowed vut i see 3 dog and person walking with this dog. I don’t really understand why the rule’s seen not the same for everyone.
Aug 18, 2024 · François DumaineMy family has been coming to Beach Acres Campground for over 38 years. With amenities for all ages, pool, playground, basketball, horseshoe and shuffle board courts. And just walking distance to Scoop Deck for a sweet treat or to Wells Beach. Beautiful spot for our Summer getaway.
Jul 24, 2022 · Brittany Roystayed here for 1 night and enjoyed it. tent area seems to normally be a big field with not much space between people, but we wound up getting one of the few tent sites separate from the rest and was quite private and nice. not sure if we just got lucky. we were able to reserve the spot last minute without problems. they have a good size bathroom and shower, and also a playground and pool. lots of people around having late fires and outside late into the night. short drive to the beach and a Hannaford supermarket with food and alcohol. Ice cream place down the street. normal price for camp in the area seemingly.
