Immerse Yourself in the Serene Environment of Silver Falls
Silver Falls Campground is strategically located to provide unparalleled access to the lush and verdant environment of the surrounding area. The primary draw is undoubtedly its proximity to the Ten Falls State Scenic Area, a jewel of Oregon's natural wonders. This area is famous for its stunning hiking trail that winds past ten magnificent waterfalls, each offering a unique and captivating spectacle. Imagine spending your days exploring these cascading wonders, surrounded by towering trees, vibrant foliage, and the soothing sounds of falling water. The campground itself likely shares this serene and beautiful ambiance, offering a tranquil retreat after a day of exploration.
Reviewers consistently highlight the "serene and lush nature" of the campground and its surroundings. The presence of a nature trail within or around the campground further enhances the opportunity for immersion in this beautiful environment. Whether you are an avid hiker eager to conquer the Ten Falls trail or simply seeking a peaceful setting to unwind, Silver Falls Campground provides a gateway to an unforgettable natural experience. The mature trees likely offer ample shade during warmer months, creating comfortable campsites and a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation.
Diverse Camping Options and Essential Services
Silver Falls Campground caters to a variety of camping preferences. While one reviewer noted that the camping area for tents felt "a bit cramped," the availability of different site types ensures that visitors can find an option that suits their needs. The campground offers:
- Tent Sites: Traditional campsites for pitching tents, allowing you to connect directly with the natural environment. While one review mentioned a lack of privacy in some tent areas, it's possible that various tent sites offer differing levels of seclusion.
- Cabins: For those seeking a more comfortable and sheltered experience, the campground features cabins. Reviews indicate that these cabins are "cozy" and equipped with amenities such as wall heaters, picnic tables, and fire pits. However, one reviewer noted that a larger bed in a cabin was quite firm, suggesting the futon might be a more comfortable sleeping option. The cabins appear to be "nicely spread out," offering a degree of privacy.
- Full Hookup Sites: As mentioned by one reviewer who stayed at site 72, some campsites offer full hookups, which typically include water, electricity, and sewer connections. These sites are particularly appealing to those with recreational vehicles or those seeking added convenience.
To ensure a comfortable stay, Silver Falls Campground also provides essential services and amenities, as highlighted by the positive reviews:
- Well-Maintained Bathrooms: Clean and accessible restroom facilities are a significant plus for any campground, and reviewers specifically praised the upkeep of the bathrooms at Silver Falls.
- Helpful Staff: Both the rangers and camp hosts are described as "incredibly helpful and friendly," indicating a commitment to guest satisfaction and providing assistance when needed.
- Firewood and Ice Availability: For added convenience, firewood and ice are available for purchase at self-service areas within the campground, priced at $5 and $1 respectively.
The check-in process is also designed to be straightforward for those with reservations. Guests who have already booked a cabin will receive their cabin code and can proceed directly to their accommodation upon arrival at check-in time, making for an "easy peasey" start to their stay.
Key Features and the Unmissable Ten Falls Trail
The standout feature of Silver Falls Campground is undoubtedly its direct access to the Ten Falls State Scenic Area and its namesake trail. This loop trail is a must-do for any visitor, offering breathtaking views of ten distinct waterfalls, ranging in size and character. The trail meanders through lush forests, alongside creeks, and even behind some of the cascading falls, providing an immersive and unforgettable hiking experience. Reviewers wholeheartedly recommend the trail, advising visitors to "start early as it tends to get crowded very quickly," underscoring its popularity and the desire to experience its tranquility before the crowds arrive.
Beyond the Ten Falls trail, the "serene and lush nature" itself is a significant feature, offering opportunities for relaxation, nature walks on the campground's own nature trail, and simply enjoying the peaceful ambiance of the Oregon wilderness. The combination of comfortable camping options and unparalleled access to natural beauty makes Silver Falls Campground a unique and highly desirable destination for those seeking "camping near me."
Important Considerations and Potential Drawbacks
While the majority of reviews are positive, it's important to note a couple of potential drawbacks mentioned by visitors:
- Noise Issues: One reviewer reported encountering campers playing loud music, which detracted from the natural tranquility. While this may not be a consistent issue, it's something to be aware of, and it's hoped that campground management addresses such concerns to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests.
- Cramped Tent Area: As mentioned earlier, one reviewer felt that the camping area for tents was "a bit cramped," suggesting that some sites might offer less privacy than others. If privacy is a high priority, it might be worth inquiring about specific tent site layouts when making a reservation.
- Road Noise: The proximity of cabin 3 to a main road resulted in some noise for one reviewer. If you are sensitive to traffic noise, it might be beneficial to request a cabin further away from the road when booking.
- Firm Bed in Cabin: One reviewer found the larger bed in their cabin to be uncomfortably hard, recommending the futon as a softer alternative. If you are renting a cabin, this is a point to keep in mind.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the overwhelming sentiment from reviews highlights the positive aspects of Silver Falls Campground, particularly its natural beauty and access to the Ten Falls trail.

Silver Falls Campground Reviews
We spent a night at the campground to tackle the Ten Falls trail, and we would have loved to stay longer, but unfortunately, it was fully booked. Site 72 caught our eye as it offered full hookup and more privacy compared to other sites. The cabins were nicely spread out, but the camping area felt a bit cramped. We did encounter some campers playing loud music, which was quite bothersome. It would have been much nicer if they kept their music at home and let everyone else enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors. The bathrooms were well-maintained, and both the rangers and camp hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. Most importantly, the trail itself was absolutely worth it. Our advice is to start early as it tends to get crowded very quickly.
Jun 22, 2024 · Vee KThis campground is like a retreat in nature, serene and beautiful! We stayed in a cabin which was great for us, and had access to a picnic table and fire pit. The cabin itself was cozy and had wall heaters, though the larger bed was as hard as a rock (would recommend using the futon for the bed as it has more padding). Our cabin (3) unfortunately was next to a main road, though the proximity to the bathrooms was a plus.Check-in was a little confusing at first since there weren't staff at the main station. We eventually saw that the process is if you have a reservation you should already have your cabin code and just go to the cabin at check-in time. Easy peasey! Firewood and ice are also available for $5 and $1 from self-service areas around the campgrounds. The serene and lush nature is the real draw, including the nature trail that goes around the campground. Highly recommend!
Sep 23, 2023 · Kourtney SOur stay was too short - we were just in for the night. But Ranger Isaiah was the best! I had called the park ahead of time to see how the Walk-In camping worked for same day stays and he took me through the process step by step. Then we were surprised to meet him in person once we arrived and settled in to a spot!Beautiful campground...I hope to return one day to take advantage of the hikes and see all the beauty of the park!
Oct 07, 2024 · Kimberlee WalgamotteAnother EV friendly campground in Oregon!Overall a great camping experience, big sites with plenty room for my dog to roam (leashed), clean restroom with hot showers, have good service for t-mobile, friendly checkin process, and day use parking fee is waived if you are camping in the park.We hiked the south fall in the morning, and surprised to see 4 EV charging station at the day use parking lot, and its free too! We went early AM and still have couple open spots for ev charging, and you can see the parking lot was filling up quick already!Since the 10 falls is not pet friendly, we only did the south falls, would definitely plan to come back to do the full hike next time!
Aug 25, 2023 · Kevin ChiuGreat campground, showers, very clean restrooms, fire wood, ice, restaurant close by, everything you'd need and more. Trails are well kept, spectacular water falls and surrounding areas for some fantastic photography.
