Skagit River Woods Introduce
For local residents seeking a unique and long-term "camping near me" experience, Skagit River Woods, located at 38120 Cape Horn Rd, Concrete, WA 98237, USA, offers a distinctive model of campground ownership and a strong sense of community. Unlike traditional campgrounds where individual nights or short stays are booked, Skagit River Woods operates as a private campground where individuals or families purchase a spot for their exclusive use, providing the flexibility to camp anytime without the hassle of reservations. This established campground, with a history spanning several decades, fosters a welcoming environment focused on family fun, relaxation, and community engagement. If you're looking for a place to create lasting memories and become part of a vibrant camping community, Skagit River Woods might be the perfect long-term camping destination for you.
The environment of Skagit River Woods is clearly a significant part of its appeal. Situated with "access to the river," campers can enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities offered by the Skagit River. This access likely includes activities such as fishing, wading, or simply enjoying the riverside ambiance. While the campsites themselves are described as "fairly rustic," the overall setting within the woods provides a sense of privacy, even though some trees have been felled for safety reasons, the campground remains "pretty private." This blend of natural woodland and river access creates a diverse environment for outdoor enjoyment. The presence of a pool, open between Memorial Day and Labor Day, adds another dimension to the recreational opportunities, providing a place to cool off and relax during the warmer months.
Skagit River Woods boasts a comprehensive range of services and amenities designed to enhance the camping experience for all ages. For families with children, the "kids playground" offers a dedicated space for active play and socialization. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the "volleyball net" and "basketball court" for friendly games. The heart of the community likely resides in the "lodge," which is equipped with various recreational facilities, including "pool tables, ping pong, fooz ball," providing indoor entertainment options, especially during less favorable weather. The lodge also features a "full kitchen with tools and utensils you can use," offering a convenient space for meal preparation and socializing. In terms of basic campsite amenities, "running water only" is provided at the individual spots, indicating a source for washing and other non-potable uses. It's important to note that there are "no electricity or sewage hook ups" at the campsites, maintaining a more rustic camping feel. However, the presence of "bathrooms close to all the sites" ensures basic hygiene needs are met conveniently throughout the campground.
A key feature that sets Skagit River Woods apart is its ownership model. By purchasing a spot, members gain the unique benefit of being able to camp "anytime" without the need for reservations. This flexibility is a major advantage for those with busy schedules or those who enjoy spontaneous weekend getaways. The strong sense of community is another defining characteristic, as highlighted by a long-term camper of 22 years, whose family has been part of Skagit River Woods for four generations. This testament speaks volumes about the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the campground, where it's easy to "have fun, make new friends, relax and let kids be kids!" The current management, Danny and Laurie, are praised for their dedication to "take care of the place," suggesting a well-maintained and cared-for environment for its members.
Adding to the community spirit, the current management has actively enhanced the experience by hosting "fun family friendly activities." These include "painting nights, movie nights, pancakes breakfasts, taco nights, and live music," creating opportunities for social interaction and shared enjoyment among the members. These organized events foster a vibrant and engaging community atmosphere, making Skagit River Woods more than just a place to park an RV or pitch a tent; it's a place to connect with neighbors and participate in a range of enjoyable activities. This proactive approach by the management adds significant value to the ownership experience.
For local users seeking a "camping near me" solution that offers a long-term commitment, a strong sense of community, and the flexibility of year-round camping without reservations, Skagit River Woods presents a compelling opportunity. The combination of river access, a swimming pool, playground, sports facilities, a well-equipped lodge, and organized social activities creates a rich and engaging environment for families and individuals alike. While the campsites are rustic with no electrical or sewage hookups, the convenience of nearby bathrooms and the overall community atmosphere more than compensate for these basic provisions for many. The ability to purchase a spot and camp spontaneously is a significant benefit for those who value flexibility. Skagit River Woods is more than just a campground; it's a multi-generational community where lasting friendships are formed and cherished memories are made. If you're looking to invest in a long-term camping lifestyle within a supportive and active community, contacting Skagit River Woods at (360) 826-3132 or +1 360-826-3132 to inquire about purchasing a spot could be the first step towards becoming part of this unique camping family.

Skagit River Woods Reviews
I've been camping here for 22 years! Our entire family, 4 generations of them, have been camping here starting in 1986. A great community to have fun, make new friends, relax and let kids be kids! Plus, the current managers, Danny and Laurie, really know how to take care of the place!!
Aug 20, 2024 · Michele PrisznerGreat camp ground for families! This is a private camp ground where you purchase a spot you can use anytime. My favorite part, we can decide to go camping on Friday morning, leave Friday afternoon and not worry about reservations.Current management has really stepped up their game. They are hosting fun family friendly activities like painting nights, movie nights, pancakes breakfasts, taco nights, and live music. There's a pool open between memorial day and labor day, access to the river, kids playground, volleyball net, basketball court, lodge with pool tables, ping pong, fooz ball, and a full kitchen with tools and utensils you can use.The campsites are fairly rustic, running water only, no electricity or sewage hooked ups. There are bathrooms close to all the sites. They've had to fell some trees for safety, but it's still pretty private.
Oct 13, 2019 · Leia Davis*Private* campground. Don't show up here thinking you can camp :-( Site owners lease their sites and pay a regular fee. Pool, picnic tables, hot showers. No power at the camp sites though. Tasty blackberries!
Sep 06, 2022 · WBeen camping here for 40 years. Don’t get to go as much as I used to but my family has 2 lots. Extended family has 3 more & lots of friends up there too. It’s a great place.
