Soaring Eagle Campground Introduce
If you are searching for "camping near me" in the Lenoir City, Tennessee area, Soaring Eagle Campground, located at 3152 Buttermilk Rd W, Lenoir City, TN 37771, USA, presents a camping option situated near Knoxville. The campground's location on Buttermilk Road West suggests a setting that may offer a balance between proximity to urban areas and access to the natural environment of East Tennessee.
The environment surrounding Soaring Eagle Campground offers the convenience of being close to Knoxville, as noted by a returning camper who appreciates the easy access from the city. This proximity could be advantageous for local residents seeking a quick getaway without traveling too far. The campground's environment may include typical campground features such as campsites, potentially wooded or open areas for tents and RVs, and proximity to local natural attractions, although these are not explicitly detailed. One reviewer mentions the presence of water where their dog could run and enjoys fishing, suggesting the campground might have access to a body of water, although the specifics (lake, river, or pond) are not clear. It's also important to note that one reviewer mentions noise from the interstate, indicating that the campground's environment might include some level of traffic noise. This could be a factor for those particularly sensitive to noise when seeking a peaceful "camping near me" experience.
Information regarding the services offered at Soaring Eagle Campground presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. One positive review mentions "amazing" staff, suggesting a helpful and positive service experience. However, a contrasting review details significant issues with a staff member named Joyce, alleging price gouging and inaccurate information regarding pet policies. This negative experience included being charged a substantial amount for multiple sites and pet fees, only to be then told that pets were not allowed, resulting in the loss of their money. This strongly suggests potential inconsistencies or issues with the campground's policies and the information provided to customers. While basic campground services such as campsites and potentially restroom facilities are likely available, the conflicting reviews raise concerns about the reliability and transparency of other services, particularly those related to pricing and pet accommodations. Potential guests should exercise caution and seek clear, written confirmation regarding all fees and policies, especially if traveling with pets or booking multiple sites for tent camping.
The features of Soaring Eagle Campground are alluded to in the customer reviews, but with conflicting perspectives. One positive review mentions water access suitable for dogs and fishing, suggesting these as potential features. The proximity to Knoxville could also be considered a locational feature, offering convenience for local campers. However, the negative review paints a concerning picture, particularly for tent campers and those with pets. The reviewer alleges being significantly overcharged for tent sites compared to the website's advertised price. The discrepancy regarding the pet policy – being initially charged for pets and then told they were not allowed – is a serious issue. This suggests potential inaccuracies on the campground's website or inconsistent communication regarding their rules. The negative review also describes the staff member, Joyce, as "very rude" and unhelpful. These accounts highlight a significant potential issue with customer service and the accuracy of information provided, which could severely impact a camper's experience. Therefore, while the campground might offer basic features like campsites and some recreational opportunities (e.g., water access), the reported issues with pricing, pet policies, and staff interaction are critical factors to consider. Potential guests should verify all details, especially pricing and pet policies, directly with the campground before making a reservation.
No specific promotional information for Soaring Eagle Campground is available in the provided text. Campgrounds often offer various promotions, such as discounts for longer stays, off-season rates, or special offers for certain groups (e.g., seniors, military). However, given the serious negative feedback regarding pricing discrepancies and customer service, it would be prudent for potential guests to be extremely cautious about any advertised prices and to obtain written confirmation of all charges before booking. Inquiring about any promotions directly with the campground via phone at (865) 376-9017 or +1 865-376-9017 is recommended, but it is equally important to seek clarity and written confirmation on the total cost and all applicable policies, especially concerning pets and the number of campsites. Potential guests might also want to inquire if any changes have been made in response to the negative feedback received.
Considering Soaring Eagle Campground for your "camping near me" needs in Lenoir City, TN, presents a situation with both potential benefits (proximity to Knoxville, possible water access) and significant risks based on recent customer reviews. While one reviewer had a positive experience and planned to return, the other review paints a concerning picture of price gouging, inaccurate pet policies, and rude staff. These conflicting accounts highlight the importance of proceeding with extreme caution. Potential guests, particularly those planning to tent camp or traveling with pets, should thoroughly verify all pricing, pet policies, and other relevant details directly with the campground and seek written confirmation to avoid potential financial losses and unpleasant experiences. The convenience of its location near Knoxville might be appealing, but it is crucial to balance this with the reported negative aspects of the campground's management and policies.
In conclusion, Soaring Eagle Campground in Lenoir City, TN, offers a location near Knoxville that might be convenient for some seeking "camping near me." However, recent customer reviews present a starkly contrasting view of the campground. While one reviewer reported a positive experience, another detailed serious issues with pricing, a confusing and costly pet policy, and rude staff. Potential guests are strongly advised to exercise significant caution, to thoroughly verify all policies and charges directly with the campground via phone at (865) 376-9017 or +1 865-376-9017, and to seek written confirmation before making any reservations, especially if planning to tent camp or traveling with pets. The conflicting feedback suggests a need for careful consideration before choosing Soaring Eagle Campground for your camping needs.

Soaring Eagle Campground Reviews
We caped here last year and have a reservation for this year I love how close it is in Knoxville as that’s where we live. This is a great little getaway. I don’t mind the noise from the interstate. It actually helps me sleep. We take our two little dogs run on the water has been in the dog, loves the fish. The staff is amazing.
Apr 25, 2025 · Pamela Barrs0 stars is accurate. DONT TENT CAMP. JOYCE will price gouge you, not accurate with website (says $32 after taxes a night) Joyce charged us $210 for 4 sites one night. $75 to bring 3 dogs. Then was told they wouldn't take our pets. NO PETS - they say yes until your there and then you loose your $$ when you can't stay with them. Joyce was very rude- told us to find another place she didn't want our dogs or our business. Unless she owns it- who ever does should look into a new receptionist CLEARLY Joyce is burnt out on helping family campers!!!!
Apr 24, 2025 · Randall DugganI love the location. Easy on and off the interstate. Pull through sites available. Bath houses are always clean and the campground has full hookups. They have propane and a small store that sells almost anything you need. Short drive to Knoxville if you need to go that way. I like the lake lots also.
Dec 11, 2024 · christopher livelyWe absolutely loved our weekend at Soaring Eagle! The second time, we have stayed here, and we will definitely be coming back. Everything is so well maintained. The pool was amazing, and my husband enjoyed his fishing. Beautiful place to kick back and relax.
Jul 01, 2024 · Alisa BeardThe management is very good. Joyce is extremely good at her job. Very helpful and has an award winning smile. David is extremely helpful and always wears a smile and a wave. Campground is clean and most sites are either cement or flattened gravel. Those who are in the extended stay lots have newer campers and are pleasant folks. The bathrooms are very clean, the laundry facilities is very clean as well. The lake lots are well kept and fishing is good! Right off I-40 close to Oak Ridge, Lenoir City and West Knoxville. My stay here has been wonderful. Very safe campground. The country roads around the campground are enjoyable to explore with streams, ponds, great mountain and pasture views.
