Spaulding Lake Campground Reviews
Nice place. Very quiet. Kinda used to a park with a lot of activity so it seems dead but everyone is friendly and nice. Well maintained. They don't gouge you for firewood and stuff like that
May 03, 2025 · Don ShengleWe travel all over the country for work, and this park is definitely one of the best. It’s quiet (other than a little road noise), clean (the laundry room is cleaner than our own at home!), peaceful (great for nature lovers), and the owners and caretakers clearly take pride in the property (they are constantly outside keeping it clean and well maintained). Unlike other parks, there are no loose animals, there is plenty of space between spots, we felt safe walking throughout the property, and there are no old property eye-sores that exist at many other RV parks. We will definitely be back, and we are so thankful for the kind folks who work here. *Also, it rained several days while we were there, but our spot never flooded. The sites are well-graveled and level.
May 03, 2023 · MARYANN BARNWELLSpaulding Lake Campground Niles, Michigan:This campground gives the appearance of being a bit older and well established as you enter. That doesn't mean that it's not well kept, because it is and the host we met was very pleasant. We had a pull through site and our site, like others here, was gravel and reasonably level. Being almost 70' long It was just a little bit short for us to comfortably park our truck with our rig so we parked in a parking section directly across from us.During our stay it was pleasantly quiet and our 50 amp full hook up utilities were consistent throughout our stay. Each site that we noticed had a fire ring and a picnic table alongside them. There is also free WiFi here as well but like most campgrounds, it isn't the strongest or most consistent. They list having four lakes but they are really just large ponds, good enough for kids to drop a fishing line in but we sure weren't going to put our kayaks in just to go in a 100 foot circle. We also walked the hiking trails that they say they have. Unless we missed something, most of them were only clear for a hundred feet or so and then you could not go any further. This campground has one of the largest playgrounds for kids I have ever seen and multiple places to walk your dog on a leash. There is no fenced dog area for playtime though and no pool. There is a rec hall, but it looks as through it's full of stuff and hasn't been used for awhile. The bath houses were clean and well maintained and the office has a very small store for camping items. All In all, we wouldn't mind staying here again when passing through.
Aug 30, 2022 · Bud JacksonWe have been fulltime RVers for 5 years and visited almost all states. This Campground is the WORST place we ever stayed at. The Campground Hosts are absolutely horrible and the very reason we cancelled 2 nights as well as our neighbor that had a weekly rate and left after 3 days all to do with these hosts. They have a power trip, Patrolling sites at night, watching every move we do. The guy host drives thru sites fast and loudly daily. I got reprimanded by having my car parked a couple inches over the grass yet their golf carts have tracks all over the grass area in the park. The so called dog walk trail is around a burned trash area, no trails.I notice these hosts watch the out of state campers and treat them like children. Like numerous other reviews they come over and bang and I mean BANG AND BANG on our RV for some trivial question. No dog park, no pool and no amenities for their expensive nightly, weekly and monthly rates.Someone could pay me $ to stay there and NO WAY I would ever stay there again. If you like Gestabo like hosts go there. The worst part is the owner knows about all these complaints and keeps these campground hosts employed.
Aug 15, 2024 · Elizabeth GiulianiMy wife and I (oh can't forget our little dog) have camp at Spaulding once a year for the last 5 years(usually in later September, early October) and have enjoyed every outing. Everyone associated with Spalding has always treated us very kind since our first time camping there till this year 2022. There's always been some kind of improvement to the campground every year we've went, and it looks like more improvements are ahead. We always enjoy the stay there.👍👍Ray & Kathie, Benji too
